I watched this movie and it is truly marvelous. I laughed, i cried, i had goosebumps. It's an emotional rollercoaster. Don't listen to the haters, go and watch it in theatres. This movie is made for theatre experience.
In 1983 I was in 5th standard and watched the final till the end of the match bcz Kapil sir was my favorite cricketer. Actually this movie would have been filmed after getting WC, it was too late to watch 175 not out of Kapil sir's world record innings. This generation may not show interest to know about facts of 83 WC. I have enjoyed a lot and recollect those days. Thank you Mr.Kabir Khan.
The movie kept the momentum going. There was NO unnecessary love scenes, NO saas-bahu type dramas - just pure emotions and cricket. It was quite overwhelming to be honest.
I saw pratik borade review about this movie. He says he didn't like the movie cz it showed only about the cricket match and the team and nothing else. In my mind I was like, does he really watch movies with interest or just for the sake of reviewing. He always looks to bring up some sort of Hindu vs Muslim or any other religious controversy. When I watched the movie I was so thrilled to see the actual facts alongwith some real footage.
I watched it twice ❤️.. Ranveer was looking like actual Kapil Dev even everyone was looking like actual players ❤️... This movie motivated me that if anyone in India🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 determined to do something then they do it in any way And to get any success in life we need dedication and determination...... The last part of the movie made me feel the real emotions of 1983❤️..every character did a splendid job 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏i loved this movie..... To be honest i lived the every moment of this movie ..... They are the real another heroes of India after soldiers 🇮🇳🧿..rip to yashpal Sharma may he born again ❤️
Everyone talks about final and Zimbabwe match . But another gem of team effort was semifinal where Kirti Azad and Amarnath gave only 55 runs in 24 overs with no boundaries for 16-17 overs. And at the end whirlwind T20 like 51 of 32 by Sandip Patil.

Actually in the semifinal of World Cup 1983 West Indies beat Pakistan comprehensively by 8 wickets chasing a target of 185. Keeping this easy win in mind chasing almost the same target in the final match West Indies players took it very easy which led them a defeat.
Watched three times in the last couple of days and sadly wondered why this movie didn't do well in the box office collection... felt very bad as this movie deserves lot more ..
I think it created goosebumps for the cricket loving fraternity as most part of the movie concentrated entirely on the cricket matches. A large portion of the Indian audience might have expected some filmy masala & got bored by seeing the best of cricketing shots and some magnificent bowling which might have gone bouncers to the saas bahu fans..

He is indeed. But we should remember he could play because of the 1983 victory. This gave our future cricketers and the BCCI the confidence that India can also be no pushover. Therefore BCCI from then on took things seriously and did everything possible to make our game better resulting in players like Dhoni coming to the fore.
MSD already had a team which was filled with confident players like Sachin, Sehwag, Ganguly, Dravid, Irfan, Kaif, Balaji, Yuvraj, etc etc. MS just leveled the team up. Kapil Dev had a team of all the under confident players who never even have thought in their dreams that they can win a single match let alone the world cup. The dedication and will power he has shown is tremendous. Dhoni is good with his tactics. KD is excellent with almost everything. My father says at that time in 1983, there were only 4-5 all rounders and 2 of them were Asians including Kapil Dev and Imran Khan. All others were non-asians. Kapil was excellent in 83. Hats off to him. I thought the movie was exaggerating but not really.
