This is MUCH harder to do when working on an E36 with a 6 cylinder, particularly the early models. No way the fan comes out that easy and I can attest to that. Putting it back is a PITA if you have a fan without removable fan cages. You may even have to loosen the wiper assembly! Just giving you a fair warning.
Absolutely spot on mine was a nightmare stupid place to put it really stupid was going to get a garage to do it 6yrs ago and they wanted nearly £500 so I did it myself and although I got it done I hated every minute of it.

Well, now I can hear the fan working and moaning. So its noisy. I need to change it. Temperature outside is 20F and once it will get warmer, it will rain - again. Just what a good BMW shade tree mechanic needs.

Just one question, my car's blower is giving enough air i hardly feel in cabine when i put my hands on air vents. its working but does not feel it much even in the full range. what possible problems could be? does resister makes blower slow, or i need to change the blower completely or i can fix the blower? you answer will be appreciated. thanks
Textilion ster the sign of bad resistor blower is there is no air from the air vents (the blower doesn't work) when the climate control turn on. Based on your problem, i think your car blower is getting weak. I prefer to change the blower with the new one

Whatever or whoever the reason for the video was im very happy. I need to remove it and try to replace the brushes and clean the motor. If it doesnt help then time for new whole blower assembly. jw200 you're welcome and it's nice to share with other :). if you find a lack on this video, please be advised, because several components not active anymore. I think the difficult step when remove the blower is to find the right path to release it from the nest. so you must make an improvisation, and becarefull. About the blower problem sometimes work or not, based on my experience it can cause by bad resistor blower also. resistor E36 produced in 1996 and up it has name final stage unit (FSU). To ascertain if the FSU is bad, you can borrow your friends E36 FSU (good condition) and test it in your E36. How to remove the FSU, you can watch in my other video. I suggest you to check the FSU first before you're remove the blower motor.
Ok so I have a 1992 325i so It has the straight 6 motor can i even attempt this? The valve cover literally sits on the firewall. Also if i hit a bump really hard usually it will come back on? If you could help me i would seriously be thankful.
In my opinion, this step can apply in e36 with 6 cylinder also. However, you need more effort because of the narrow space if we compare with 4 cylinder. About the bump, i don't know which part
Did you also check the cabin filter? Sometimes dirty cabin filter can make the air flow weak. But if the cabin filter is clean, i think blower motor weak, so you must replace the blower motor. CMIIW
bisa jadi dari blowernya om. biasanya yg berisik itu bisa dari blower atau dari kompresor. di cek dulu asal sumber suaranya. kalo kompresor berisik, ketika kaca ditutup semua biasanya gak sampai kedengeran ke kabin

sebelum dibongkar kecepatan blowernya gimana om? sepengalaman sy selama beberapa kali bongkar blower dengan langkah2 sesuai dengan video ini, tidak ada masalah dengan kecepatan blowernya. Untuk kecepatan blower biasanya berhubungan dengan Final Stage Unit (FSU)/resistor landak jika control AC digital atau blower resistor jika control AC nya analog. Coba di cek dulu komponen tersebut om, semoga dapat membantu.

Am literally in the same boat. Changed the resistor a month ago, my fan was chirping at first, and now it's down right noisier than a train

Yes i do, because it has been broken since i bought this E36. The flap is unable to move again.

the blower motor still works in my e36 but has lost alot of power. Should I replace the blower motor? or try replacing the Blower motor resistor?

Kemungkinan filter kabin sudah kotor sehingga menghambat aliran udara atau blower motornya sudah lemah om
Klo AC berisik banget pas dinyalalin kira2 blowernya bukan om, apalagi pas nambah speed AC nya

Om saya habis bongkar blower ngikutin video sampean, stlh dpasang kok blowernya gak bisa kenceng ya muternya, speednya dtambah muternya tetep pelan

Untuk kecepatan blower biasanya berhubungan dengan Final Stage Unit (FSU)/resistor landak jika control AC digital atau blower resistor jika control AC nya analog. Coba di cek dulu komponen tersebut om, semoga dapat membantu.
Sebelumnya normal om. Klo resistor landak rusak efeknya apa ya om ?
