This is true to an extent but not entirely, it also had to do with the fact that Israel made it so easy to migrate. The discrimination Middle Eastern Jews faced in the mid 20th century was not unique for historical standards, yet it was unique in how the population vanished.

Under the Naturalization Act of 1790, they were considered among the “free white persons” who could become citizens. Later laws limited the number of immigrants from certain countries, restrictions which were in part targeted at Jews. But unlike Asian and African immigrants in the late 19th century, Jews retained a claim to being “Caucasian,” meaning they could win full citizenship status based on their putative race.

The proper term would be "Aramean" (Genesis 25:20, Deuteronomy 26:5). Like the Samaritans, Mandaeans, Chaldean Christians, Kurds, Yazidis, etc., the Israelites were native to Mesopotamia.

@@soulstades9575 Luke 21:24 describes the final captivity at the end of the age before Jesus returns (Zechariah 14:1-5). Joel 3:2-3 describes the aftermath of the captivity.
If you're saying Genesis 10:5 is suggesting Ashkenazi Jews descend from Japheth and not Shem, keep in mind Ashkenazi refers to the Rhine River Region of Europe. This is the region the Jews of the Roman Empire (Acts 17:1-17, Acts 18:2, Acts 18:19, Acts 28:17) moved to during the late Middle Ages.
To consider Israelis white would be absurd. White means of European descent but for a long time it only focused on Germanic and only some Celtic and Romance peoples. Jews by definition come from the ancient Hebrews who were Semitic.

This population had a bottle neck and was under heavy persecution and had a major population replacement from Eastern Europe. I'm not the Rabbis that allowed the geneticist to test the teeth for DNA. I'm just pointing out the research from Peki'in, Tel Abel Beth Maacah, Megiddo and recently Erfurt Germany

Most Jews in Israel are Asian, as the middle East is in Asia. The majority of Jews in Israel are Mizrahim. All ethnic Jews are part Asian as well, as they have middle eastern DNA to varying degrees.

What I don't understand is the obsession with diversity when clearly Israel doesn't strive to be religiously diverse which -- and and of itself -- is not a bad thing at all.
I love Jews and I have no problem with the state of Israel but I don't like power plays that seek to establish a "rules for thee but not for me" mentality.
EVERY NATION IN THE WORLD, not just Israel, should have the sovereign ability to discriminate against ethno-religious groups in their immigration system. This allows for more greater diversity overall as we will preserver Jewish and other nations in their authentic form.

The "authentic state" of a nation is not determined by a single ethnic or religious group. Demographics change over time, and the diversity that comes with it should be welcomed and championed. Discriminating against certain groups is something should never be "allowed".

Well I was just talking about immigration. You have to treat citizens somewhat equally. Doesn't mean you need to welcome everyone as a citizen though.
In summary, I understand that terms like "discriminate against" can be a stumbling block for people who are used to the negative connotation that follows them but I think Israel is a good example for how nations can determine their own destiny. The same has to go for other groups as well so Jews, Muslims, Christians, Black, White, Brown, Yellow doesn't matter.

Israel is far more tolerant to minorities than any other middle eastern country, or territory like Gaza strip. After 1949 Jordan and Egypt ethnically cleansed Gaza and The West Bank of all it's Jews. Israel in comparison kept a non Jewish minority of around 20% of its total population.
