The more advanced it is the further down the strap the heat line will be...When that line gets to the plug thread then the timing is way too advanced and it will start to eat the strap tip away as in detonation/pre-igniton/pinging...etc.

Cheers mate...Yep it's a 1.3...Don't know if it's the same...Stock ECU and an FCD...I'll be pulling the head soon so keep an eye out for that...I may have to put two head gaskets on to lower the compression but we'll see what's up...Have a goodie.
