You are comparing a 29yo player to 19yo player?🙄 First of all, Jess Pegula and Coco are doubles partners and have won championships together. They are also good friends as well. Second, Yes, Jess has beaten Coco in singles and they will face off again in the future, but this US Open was about a young 16 year old that burst upon the scene four years ago by beating Venus Williams in Wimbledon and becoming America's tennis sweetheart. When she lost to Naomi Osaka in the 2019 US Open, Naomi let Coco take the stage because Naomi knew that the fans were rooting for Gauff. Four years later, Coco wins the US Open and becomes the champion that lots of tennis fans have wanted to see. You can't make this stuff up. Jessica Pegula is an awesome US Champion as well and her time is coming. However, this day was about Coco Gauff. So you give it a rest, hater! GOGO COCO!!!
