I was just thinking about your content! I also decided to step down from collecting as quickly as I've been doing it, I'm taking my time now and won't be pre-ordering anything because i was so tired of all my money going exclusively to kpop😅 definitely an expensive hobby. I hope you come back with other hobbies :)

i'm big on physical media too! i still plan on buying some stuff for sure, but mostly just my fave music and such. with my kpop and vinyl collections, it can be a lot so that's why i've cut down so much. i'm mostly buying and collecting books these days!

Well, this is ok, its good for you as long as it makes u feel better, and dont feel bad if u one day buying another album that mainly because u like the song just like how u got aespa's because u like spicy. I used to be like u but these days, i just bought kpop album if i like the song, and i still think a single song having a physical album is stupid and an album with more than 3 version is pure capitalism

I totally understand you. I still gonna collect kpop but in a very smaller scale. Mostly Dreamcatcher, fromis_9, CSR, Yuju, Yuri and Teayeon. But i'm going to collect only albums and sell photocards.
I’ve been a K-pop fan for 10 years and despite of having K-pop album collection since 2014, I never think of having a huge collection for K-pop albums and merchandise of my favorite artists and I just get the album based on the concept and inclusions that I’ll be getting and most of my K-pop albums are from their 1st year or 2nd year since that’s the time that I’m hooked to a certain group and genre. Riize’s single album get a guitar will be my last album that I will get for now since I really love their debut and concept, I don’t know if I should get the upcoming Aespa’s 4th Mini Album and Enhypen’s Orange blood that will be released in November but if I liked the inclusions and their concept then I’ll probably buy those. I’m still a K-pop fan and stanning 4th and 5th gen groups but as a working young adult I think I should be aware of my spending habits and focus more on investing with myself while I’m still young and earning money so I can work my way up to my dreams and the life that I’ve always dreamed of.

i'm just focusing on selling stuff i've already downsized previously (i took an extended break from doing a lot of selling but im back at it now). as of right now i don't plan to sell anything that you saw on my shelves in the video though!

It was never my plan to collect. At first when I was still new to buying albums, never in my mind I was gonna collect. I realized I was getting so into NCT. That where it all started
I'm a fan of FT Island for more than a decade. I only had their 10 year anniv. album (cause why not). One signed by all 5 members (that was the time where it's finalized that there are going to be members of 3 instead of 5) and I think 2 of their DVDs. They have released so much albums that their is no way in heck I will ever think of collecting their albums.
As for SHINee, I have been a fan of them since 2015. I already knew them since Ring ding dong era but I was in denial that I like some kpop songs. I think I mainly have their dvds where they had concerts at tokyo dome (cause I love their performances). Not all of it. Just some of my faves.
Then NCT came around. There was a time where SM started to produce more than one versions. So, I had urges. I eventually noticed I'm buying more and more (mostly 127) I stopped and decided to collect Yuta's PCs, Postcards etc. (cause he's my bias) instead to lessen my spending. Then I realized, that is also expenssive to do cause I can't stop looking for his PCs and tingis. I was like f@#+. I have to return to album buying instead cause it's less urges compared to PCs and tingis as long as I focus on only 1 unit (which is 127). It's still expenssive though. You have to wait until they'll have their comebacks. (jokes on me, NCT release a lot so the temptation was real but I manage to control myself except for NCT U 🙃).
Right now, I have no choice but to control my spendings. I only bought one version of Fact Check.....for now. If ever I will buy the other versions I don't have, I'll do it slowly and not on one go.
please react to the KAOS group. They are 4 girls from Argentina who are influenced by Kpop but sing mostly in Spanish. It's a new group, they have 3 songs. 1: "chaos" 2 "extra" and the most recent "blank mind" I know that they would appreciate that from the cradle of Kpop they are taken into account. Been feeling the same way about IG. I realized I'm not having as much fun and if I'm delayed on getting my stuff, I get annoyed with not finding people to trade. I've decided to cut back a lot because I want to comfortably buy Blackpink merch without feeling like alI need to budget. That and Ktown making it so frustrating with fanclub pricing not being available for korean addresses. It ruined my ability to buy multiples and send them to a proxy and wait
everything seems to be so much harder these days 😢

I’ve been collecting for two years and I love it, my advice is to not be a completionist. I have always been a selective collector and I honestly believe that has made my collecting journey so enjoyable because I don’t pressure myself to buy every version of an album or every photocard of my bias, I just collect what I love and I still organise my collection so that it looks cohesive and aesthetically pleasing because although I’m selective I’m not random that would be too chaotic 😂 so my advice is, only buy what you truly love because that will make your collecting experience so much better!
How do you go about selling it? Because personally I am getting overwhelmed trying to sell with the huge amount I have
i honestly sold a lot of my extra albums to half price books. a lot of albums aren't worth much secondhand so i figured selling them that way would be easier and a lot less work, i probably got a similar amount as i would have if i sold them online myself with the benefit of absolutely no hassle of selling online. as for photocards, i do mercari and ebay. ig was too much for me to keep up with so i didn't bother with that platform but it works if you can manage it^^
