I looked for some Fine Young Cannibals songs, but found this. No regrets. This song is amazing.
This song is my ear worm that won't ever leave.
I stumbled across this song by accident and now it’s my favorite. This is the third time I’ve listened to it this morning.
But late, but I'd love to know your reaction when you heard Soldier's Grin.
She hasn’t heard Soldier’s Grin.
everything they recorded is fantastic more or less
that outtro, like the band, is underrated AF and best understood live
One of my favourite bands since about 2004 when a teachers aid told me about them. Saw them in concert once, but was lucky to see Handsome Furs and Sunset Rubdowns twice apiece.
Reminds me of Pixies and Talking Heads, two of my favorite bands.
Nightdriving on a cold November in 2008; Fresh out of college, unsure of the future. Hell yeah.
This might be my favorite song ever.
My personal favorite from them. Such an underrated band. they were quickly pigeonholed as a Modest Mouse clone and swept aside. they are obviously more than that.
+Daniel Welch I keep hearing that thrown around too, but I don't really see it at all. Modest mouse has more distortion/dryer sounds typically than these guys, Isaac Brock does a lot of shifting between croaky screams and soft voices while the two here mostly stay consistent with one kind of voice and uh.. I guess just generally. This song doesn't sound like a MM song to me!
I'm glad they're coming back.
really critics actually said that they sounded like a clone? I don't even hear it to tell you the truth. Modest mouse to me sounds like they played it a lot more safe and generic. Wolf parade, while the cord structure and the sound in general is put together pretty simply, but also making something spectacular out of 2 pretty simple chord progressions. Creating originality out of simplicity is a lost art and something that people don't even know how to do anymore. The fact that this song feels as layered and complex as it does when in reality it's only a couple chords throughout is absolutely impressive because the simplicity hides behind the originality. Modest mouse didn't achieve that in my opinion. You have Wolf parade reinventing the wheel, and you have modest mouse remarketing the same old wheel. That is in their heyday of course
@@tim478 Good comment. I also love Modest Mouse, but I think you have a point here.
Agreed although my personal favorite is band your drum
Definitely no comparison to Modest Mouse in my opinion. Both great bands, especially Modest Mouse prior to the latest album. Seems that people love to pigeonhole and paint with broad strokes of the same brush to describe music but it often can be inaccurate and demeaning. That being said, these guys remind me more of Grizzly Bear than any other band that comes to mind. But even there only in some ways. Definitely nobody's clone. Believe in Anything is my fave. Original and captivating with a mystical and tribal allure.
I came here for she drives me crazy. All i left with was this sick ass song.
This song is lodged firmly in the front of my mind looping on repeat at the moment.
Same.
Wolf Parade: A Band of Poets (with tasteful, masterful musicianship)
In this house
There's no order
There's no loss of love out here
If it's over
I know I called
Out to you
Something is haunting these four walls
You know it's true
I will crawl
Right back to you
Under the smoldering summer sky
I'll be there soon
I've been told
Of the new fast days
There's some room to breathe but I don't think twice
We'll be there soon
Well all that's a man
Has trickled out
Let me breathe
All that's a man
Has trickled out
Let me leave
All that's a man
Then we hold
My heart is clean
Like a crater of the moon
And the sea
Of cackling gloom
I'll be true
True to you
We may consume ourselves but I don't think twice
I'll be there soon, so
Well all that's a man
Has trickled out
Let me breathe
All that's a man
Has trickled out
Let me leave
All that's a man
Then we hold it
Uh oh, oh, there's nothing here
Uh oh, oh, there's nothing here, here
All that's in my *mind*
Has trickled out
Won't let me leave
Many of the lyrics you have here are incorrect. "Well, all that's in my mind, the trick of the mind won't let me breathe.." not all that's a man has trickled out..
Love love this song!!
