  • Honestly I was so shocked to get into mcm comic con. I started applying last year and managed to get into the November one. I tried applying to the London one but I was rejected but it’s fine I’m happy to just get in. I think Got a little teary eyed lol. I’m so glad I got in since it was the best con yet. Best experience as well. Thank you to everyone who brought from me, supported me, and was just a lovely person in general.

I enjoyed this Artist Alley Vlog! 😊and I too have a canon printer and my prints always come out yellow with lines so I just thought it was an ink problem and I have to get new ink I don't use the printer it's just in my room collecting dust XD🤣

Omg I’m so sorry I just got notified about your comment 🥹. Thank you for enjoying and commenting !!!! Honestly iv had 2 canons, both failing after a short amount of time and even tho the first one had warranty they still refused to do anything and the shop I brought it from said the warranty didn’t cover the issue and to try contacting canon (which I did before hand) the second one they just told me to keep cleaning it, which as you know canon ink is expensive so after using 1 whole set of ink and still nothing changed i contacted them again and they said there’s nothing wrong with the printer and to keep cleaning it. 😭 Tbh it’s frustrating how unhelpful they were. But now I have 2 epsons and I love them. They definitely aren’t perfect but so far (touch wood) nothing bad has happened. So I think from now on I will stick with epson.

@@anyartz Thank you for informing me☺ about that, maybe I should invest in Epson. It's just when I got my canon there was a nice sale, but... haha, I saved for both a printer and a laptop.
So here comes a weird lil short story. When I got the canon it came with the ink so it was fine but the moment I took it into my room the prints kept coming out yellow. So I got new ink but that didn't even last a few weeks. Now I still have that problem, then for the laptop, it didn't even last 3 days with me 😭so I had to wait for the people to fix my screen which lasted almost half a year just to fix my laptop screen and I came there to the place where I bought my laptop whenever I can because it's very far and after 2 months they only told me they didn't even start on my laptop. bruh I was so upset, and I had to wait for it to be done ... so 5 months later ( just for a screen repair.) The laptop came back, and the software was slow and there were missing screws. Now my laptop is just sitting in the dust because the charger or battery doesn't want to work anymore. Same with my printer...😓
(sorry, just wanted to share the story XD)

@@sukeyd.artist oh wow you’re going through it 🥹 and here I thought I had it rough that’s actually bull that they made you wait so long and even probably messed it up all for a screen 🙄.
Perhaps, I stayed away from epson as I read that they were expensive and stopped working after a few years but I’d rather a few years than a few months. Also I personally don’t think the ink is expensive. The ink for my epson is £85 while the one for my canon is £128 , the ink for my epson also lasts longer it still has half of the original ink from when I brought it the only ink I re brought was the magenta ink,, the canon one ran out after a week. I’m not saying go for it as what is working for me right now may not work for others but considering I haven’t had much luck with printers I’m pretty happy with epson right now

@@anyartz Thanks for replying, but I have been wanting to get an Epson printer but I didn't know which one. So I went with one that I could afford and hoped one day I could try an Espon because those are the two brands I kept hearing about and I have done my research so yeah.. XD man...Us artists really something hey.... 🤣 but we still push through it😌🙌
Also, I'm glad it's working for you and the only thing for me to do is to also try it otherwise I'll never know. But for now, my Conan ain't it for me. 🤧

    Hello I love the video!!❤❤
I really want to do an artist alley too one day but i'm unsure of how much sales i couuld make, or even if its profitable
May I ask, the general earnings you can get from MCM cons, esp the London and Birmingham ones?
I have a feeling that cons in the US are much more profitable than the UK😭

Omg I’m so sorry I just logged into my account. Sales are definitely possible! Everyone that goes to the convention is looking for different stuff unless there’s only a certain targeted audience, example like hyper Japan, the audience will mostly be there for Japanese based products or cute products unless you’re a known artist or have a following ~ still you can get sales
It depends when I first started out I went the wrong way and spent too much money on product without even knowing if they will sell. Big mistake lol so due to that I didn’t go all out with display stuff and only used what I had on had which saved on cost. But the first con I did was a 1 day convention. Table cost me £100 and I made back £189 if I remember correctly. I also didn’t really sell fanart mostly original stuff which is much harder to sell in my experience.
MCM is a little hard to determine because the audience is so different which can be a good thing. Table cost was around £500 and I made around £990 , I sell my products relatively cheap and I don’t have any higher priced items so I think that affected how much I made, either that or my products just aren’t what people are looking for, what I spent all together tho was £1000. But that’s because I over made on products, I was told you could make loads at this convention and sell out so I thought Lemmy make loads.
The second time at MCM the one in December I made £1.5k I think maybe a bit more. This time I spent money on just hotel and table. £500 table £89 hotel. So it was decent this time around
US conventions are definitely more profitable. I spoke to a few US artist that went to uk cons and they barely made anything.
I’m not the best at answering questions but I do hope I helped a little. Also again sorry for the late response 😭
