My favourite movie in 2021 is gvk the michthels and Spiderman
Merry Christmas 🎄
My favorite 2021 movies was Godzilla vs Kong and fast 9
Suicide Squad James Gunn version
Last Nigth In Soho finally a good movie with female protagonists and tackling on sexual violence without being preachy or with toxic 2016 feminist tropes
I didn’t think any MCU film could live up to the hype and anticipation of Avengers: Endgame but Spider-Man: No Way Home came very close
Close? I think that by pandemic standards it surpassed Endgame a lot
@@ronaldeliascorderocalles right

The fan service nwh provides
Endgame is not even close to nwh
No way home is best superhero film ever made
no way home deserves all fame it's getting
This is once in a lifetime cinematic experience.
{Spoiler alert}
Sinister 5
All 3 spider man
Tobey and Andrew having more screentime than Thanos had in infinity war (33 minutes screen time is rumoured,Thanos had 31 mins in infinity war)
Daredevil too making a extented cameo as matt Murdock
Longest spider man movie yet.
A plot where spider man's identity is revealed and he is framed as murderer of menace who is disguised as saviour and mentor , a hero to world.
Getting
doc ock
Green goblin
Electro
Sandman
Lizard
making a comeback in a spider man movie is next level.
Having dr strange too in a spider man movie (makes movie more comic accurate)
Also getting j Jonah Jameson back in mcu.
This movie is the biggest crossover in the history of Hollywood.
Now don't reply endgame was biggest crossover
How big a crossover is not decided by the number of characters in a movie
It is decided on number of major characters
Endgame major characters:
Captain America
Iron man
Black widow
Thor
Hulk
Thanos
Rest actors and character's screentime was negligible
.
And rest characters don't even have a good market value
Marvel's Spider-Man. Now, Spider-Man can officially claim the title of the world's most valuable superhero. A rare copy of Spidey's Marvel Comics debut just sold at auction for a record-breaking $3.6 million - making it officially the most expensive comic book ever sold
Your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is the most lucrative superhero on the block, raking in more than $1.3 billion in global retail sales for Marvel.
@@ronaldeliascorderocalles {spoiler alert for nwh}
@Snot movie of decade
It's the biggest ambitious crossover ever
Don't reply endgame
How big a cross over is
Decided upon number of major characters
Not secondary characters
Endgame had 6 major characters
No way home has 9 major characters
Major characters are those ones who has at least 15 mins screentime in film
Only main 6 Avengers had near 15 mins screentime
On other hand
Tobey and Andrew had 30 min screentime
And if I have to choose between
100s of low market value superhero team up film
Or 3 versions of most profitable superhero character ever made
I will choose 3 versions of most profitable superhero ever made.
No Way Home far exceeds the hype of Endgame by a mile. The fact that it brings 3 generations of Spider-Man in one film speaks volumes just how popular the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is. It is a love letter to all Spider-Man fans.
How the hell is no one is talking about how the Matrix Resurrections made this list?
It wasn’t amazing

The movies of 2021 are way better than 2020 , some of them even made history
well 2020 was a complicated years you see...
2020 had great movies like Birds of Prey, Mulan, WW84, Bloodshot... ok I stopped there, I believe one of the few good movies of 2020 was Sonic.
Well, some of these movies were initially scheduled to release in 2020 you know?
Henri it might let us know that 2021 is better than 2020.
Agree and 2021 is a Way Better than 2020 for Sure.
Not only did Spider-Man No Way Home live up to the hype, but it also exceeded expectations. I did not expect Green Goblin to be like the actual villain of the storyline and have Tom's Spider-Man actually become what he was meant to be right from the beginning. With great writing, comes great theater experience.
I hope some of Peter’s friends get their memories back in the next movie.
Do you mean to become a real Spider-Man? He always was.
@@leo11lim I hope not, this is the moment for him to mature, to run out of wings to fly, to deprive himself of feelings so as not to see the world cry, go for me, it's better this way.
@@itswariotime7543 I mean become the Spider-Man who is struggling with life problems and superhero stuff at the same time. As much as I love Far From Home (Not much with Homecoming), he had way too much help from Tony Stark's equipment and tried too hard to be a successor to him instead of being himself.
@@DarkAttackYT "too much help from Tony Starks equipment"
In this film he runs to Dr. Strange for magic to help him erase his mistakes. In the process he gets his aunt killed.
You guys are so blinded by hype and fan service that I don't think you are able to process the actual events in this story.
I saw No Way Home in theaters with my family, and yeah, it's true. Never expected the movie to actually handle its source material better than other reboot sequels tend to do. It truly is something to admire the picture for.
Are you ever gonna do more nostalgic lists, as in best movies of 2011 & 2012, separately?
Spider-man : No Way Home is everything that a Spider or Marvel fan would desire for a movie
Precisely, over-convoluted and throwing everything at the wall even though 95% makes zero sense to the overall plot 🤦🏼♂️

@@Thdarkonex3 I wasn't the one who started attacking, but you are right with everything you said.
Ryan vs ryan
To say that Spider-Man: No Way Home is a success would perhaps be understating things. Tom Holland’s third solo outing as the webhead is a multiverse breaking hit and is currently expected to break $1 billion at the box office by the end of the holiday weekend. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
It's already passed 1 billion
It's top ten movies of the year, not top ten movies that made money
"solo outing"
Just under $900M but soon to cross $1B without these Chinese dollars. I'm pretty sure Chinese can access it one way or another while telling CCP to suck it.
Third "solo" film okay yeah buddy whatever
This list lost me the minute I saw The Matrix Resurrection at number 10.
Couldn't be better than No Time to Die...
@@henrymanuel8246 No Time to Die at least received praise, The Matrix Resurrection on the other hand has been receiving a lot of poor and unfavourable reviews from both audiences and critics. The film literally feels like it’s making fun of itself with its meta-factor, something that never happened or was needed in the previous Matrix films. Watchmojo clearly were paid to put the film on the list cause it really doesn’t make any other sense to put The Matrix Resurrection on the list.
@@izetyusein3323 dude matrix 4 ruled
@@anthonymartensen3164 That’s cool if you liked it, but the majority is really mixed on the film. When you consider how Watchmojo look at movies based on a wide ranged perspective from both audiences and critics, it doesn’t make sense for them to add The Matrix Resurrection on this list considering it’s mixed reception from both audiences and critics.
@@izetyusein3323 i'm seeing a lot more love for no way home than the matrix resurrections.
You have my utmost respect for having Mass and CODA on the list!
yeah but then they pur Matrix Resurrections at number 10, Spiderman no way home at number 3. This list is total garbage.
This is honestly a great year for movies, much better than last year
💯💯💯. Agreed
THERE WAS NONE LAST YEAR....except sonic
@Snehil Shrey Every year is great for movies.
Every Year, there are good movies, mediocre movies, bad movies and awful movies.
@Snehil Shrey 💯✅
All delayed cos of covid
In the end, I’m just thankful for a lot of these movies being able to be released at all in 2021, after how 2020 went
Agreed 2020 was so bad it felt like all we got were crappy dwayne duh rock johnson movies
Only movies I saw were Wonder Woman 1984, The Invisible Man, and Tenet. Birds of Prey sounded way too boring, same can be said for Sonic, and many other movies. Oh and I regret watching Wonder Woman.
I finally saw Dune, No Time to Die, Matrix Resurrections, Ghostbusters Afterlife, Nobody, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Mortal Kombat.
Yass thank you watch mojo for giving Mass a platform
Every single one of the honourable mentions as well as a few that didn't make it onto the list were far superior to The Matrix Resurrections in my opinion
Honestly no that movie is so ticking fun
@Snehil Shrey I like marvel but I also like this movie
@Snehil Shrey what’s wrong with marvel movies buster
2021 was definitely an improvement over last year, in my personal opinion
Well, we didn't get much in 2020
Yup. There's so many great movies that this list didn't even mention as well
Agree and Some movies originally released in 2020 but delayed this year 2021 and They Are Worth the wait like
1. No time to Die 007
2. A quiet place Part 2
3. Dune
4. Black Widow
5. Ghostbusters After life.
Yeah, it's just a shame December had to take ugly turn with all this covid crap going on again😠😩😖

Awesome video 👍
Oh yes Mitchell's and versus the machines. I still need to see that but I did see your Easter egg video on it which I probably wouldn't have picked up if I have watched it the first time
Pleasantly surprised with this list as I thought it was just going to be full of blockbusters but nope there's a variety here. Looking forward to seeing the number 1 in cinemas in the new year
It's amazing!!!
I know a lot of people don't have Apple TV+ but man y'all gotta watch CODA. Emilia Jones is one of the most promising young actor in Hollywood now. Easily one of the best movies of the year
Totally agree with you. She gave my favourite performance of the year!
Godzilla vs Kong, The Suicide Squad, The Green Knight, Justice League Snyder Cut, West Side Story, Venom, Let There Be Carnage, Free Guy, Raya and the Last Dragon, Black Widow, Shang Chi and Spider-Man No Way Home that is all the parts I really like to enjoy.
Shoulda done a top 20 cause there's a lot more great 2021 movies I can think of then just those 10 (and honorable mentions).
Nothing for WatchMojo to say about The Suicide Squad, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Godzilla vs. Kong, or Cruella?
None of those except for The Suicide Squad are the best of the year. Their entertaining movies but still have some issue
Dude Snyder’s JL was just a re release nothing so good about it as well and the rest apart from suicide squad and Shang chi are worth mentioning
The Suicide Squad is in my top 10, but none of the others you listed. Then again, all of those are more worthy than Matrix Resurrections.
None of the movies you mentioned except of Sucide Squad are best of the year material
@@15Candles all of the movies have flaws
NWH is totally the best one
Dune should not be listed as better than NWH
@@ericstorm6582 dune is so much better than NWH man. No way home is just fan service
@@SB-uo9to I agree with points.
1: Spiderman: No Way Home (A love letter to Spiderman fans)
2: No Time To Die (I'm still drowning my tears, even 2 months after)
3: The Suicide Squad (The best dceu movie, funny, exciting, and cool)
4: Mitchells vs Machines (A delightful movie)
5: Dune (Groundbreaking in every way possible)
6: Godzilla vs Kong (Just an awesome movie about titan vs titan)
7: Free Guy (A brilliantly funny comedy that made me lol!)
8: Luca (Beautiful little animated movie that made me smile)
9: Let There Be Carnage (Everything great about the first but way better)
10: Cruella (Very interesting origin story for the iconic Disney villain)
TSS being the best DCEU movie is HUGE cap.
That’s a good movie list
Okay, I have a list of my top 10, and 5 honorable mentions. I've chosen by desire to see, enjoyment, and rewatchability.
HM 1, Spiderman No Way Home
Only because I haven't seen it yet.
HM 2, A Quiet Place Part 2
Love it, but I keep falling asleep watching it.
HM 3, Venom - Let There Be Carnage
Entertaining, but not my favorite
HM 4, Spencer
I was very impressed with Kristen Stewart in this.
HM 5, okay cheating a little here, but WandaVision.
The most rewatched thing I've watched this year, and a Halloween costume (due to my own grief).
10, Willy's Wonderland
This was a great horror comedy!
9, Till Death
Megan Fox was amazing in this!
8, Nobody
Not my normal kind of movie, but enjoyed it!
7, Godzilla Vs. Kong
A feast for the eyes!
6, Four Good Days
Mila Kunis and Glenn Close were amazing together.
5. Ghostbusters Afterlife
Nostalgia and a great storyline.
4, Halloween Kills
The Michael Myers gore fest that has a lot of messages within.
3, Cruella
I was surprised and impressed by this movie.
2, The Suicide Squad
I just loved so many things about this movie!
And #1, Zack Snyder's Justice League
Not only the anticipation since that first Comic Con trailer, but the actors championed for it for years. And I have watched it repeatedly, in it's 4 hour entirety.
Spider-Man NWH is definitely the best of 2021. It’s so damn good, especially the 3rd act. Loved every minute of it.
I would put Dune up against it. I really really loves spiderman, but dune takes it for me.
Yeah because it has Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in it. If there wasn’t any of them, you would’ve complained that the movie wasn’t good.
@@crumpet7649 strong claim, no argument. You should get more info on someone before you make assumptions, this is silly.
@@ThePaintedHope I think no way home is definitely great and one of the best of 2021 but not THE best. I think films like A quiet place part II, Tick...Tick...Boom, The Mitchell's vs the machines, West Side Story, and the Suicide Squad are slightly better.
Spider Man No Way Home was amazing but why isn't anyone talking about two underappreciated gems in The Suicide Squad and Shang Chi and the legend of the ten rings?
I feel like this should've/could've been 20, they're so many other films that could EASILY be on this list
And still there'd be no dwayne rock johnson movies which is very telling!
Marvel, Disney Animation and Sony Animation made this year for me. The Mitchells vs the Machines is one of the best animated features I have seen. And Spider-Man: No Way Home and Shang-Chi were the most exciting movies of the year.
Spider-Man No Way Home was definitely an improvement over the previous 5 Spider-Man movies (3, TASM, TASM2, H, FFH)
The last duel, Dune, The suicide squad , a quiet place 2, Nobody, zack snyder's justice league, matrix resurection, spida no way home, wrath of man.
I'm glad you have nobody on your list it is absolutely an amazing film
The suicide squad was bad
Agree with everything except TSS.
I think Spencer should have been on the list because while not a bio-pic in the normal sense it I feel that it perfectly shows the way that Diana felt throughout that period of her life. Not to mention the amazing score.
Cinematography and costumes, too!
@@JessPruim yup exactly
The score was surprisingly jazzy which was cool and interesting. A lot of care goes into the music and it shows. Unlike the cringe rap from dwayne duh Rock johnson
@@chopchop1437 right I didn’t expect that I thought it would just be a bunch of rich fancy music but it was a great surprise
I get that Godzilla vs Kong wasn’t a perfect movie but really? Not even an honorable mention? Da fuck?!?
Watchmojo's lists are wack. No mention of Old, Malignant, Blood Red Sky, Stillwater, etc.
OK, after I watched Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters a third time, it just became not only my favorite movie of 2021 but also my favorite movie besides Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. There was competition for a little bit if it was either Spider-Man: No Way Home or The Mitchells vs The Machines but Spider-Man: No Way Home won while The Mitchells vs The Machines is now my third favorite movie of all time.
My top 10 (so far) :
1. Spencer
2. No Way Home
3. Coda
4. C’mon C’mon
5. The Reason I Jump
6. The Last Duel
7. Free Guy

10. Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry

Love the listttttttttt I’m 3/10 thanks for the next 7 movie I’m going to watch 👍🏾🙏🏾
"Nobody" may not be a ground breaking movie, but it was one of my favorites from this year. Bob Odenkirk gives a really good performance as a man who's containing his need for violence. The build up to the bus scene makes it all the more satisfying.
One of the best action scenes of the year was that bus scene. The scene alone was better than 10 action movies starring dwayne the rock johnson.
Love Nobody because it's Bob Odenkirk's perfect action flick.
What I’ve seen
1. No Way home
2. Shang-chi
3. Free Guy
4. Dune
5. Eternals
6. Tomorrow War
7. The Harder they Fall

As much as I loved Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Mitchells vs. The Machines just couldn't be topped as my favorite movie of 2021 due to the animation, characters (especially Katie Mitchell), emotion, heart, and humor. there's plenty you forgot you could choose from, but instead you went the "safe" route. Oscar-bait films, SpiderMan, and saying what everyone else has already said, all films from the US without any foreign language or even smaller indies.
No Way Home, No Time To Die, and Godzilla vs Kong are really good. Some of my favorite films of all time.
I didn't really enjoy No Time to die though....it was a bit boring for me
Nope
I watch The Matrix Resurrections I think it was last week I did miss one important scene due to intermission line being so long but I finally found out what I missed exactly it was the fight between, well it's not exactly a fight, but the analyst versus Neo. I can't believe I missed that part due to intermission because it was such a long line and took too long. That was literally the most lore heavy part and also I mean Neil Patrick Harris at his finest as the super villain!
I think Encanto deserves this list more than Mitchell’s Vs The Machines. I love both but I think Encanto has a stronger family message.
The Paper Tigers and Raging Fire should’ve been honorable mentions

I would've liked to see "The Last Duel", "Last Night In Soho", "The French Dispatch", "Mortal Kombat", "Wrath Of Man", or even "The Kings Man" on this list over "The Matrix Resurrections"
I agree with Spider-Man, West Side Story, Dune and Mitchells. Probably would have put No Time to Die on this list as well.

(Honorable Mentions: The Suicide Squad, Don't Look Up, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Spider-Man: No Way Home, No Time to Die, Luca and tick, tick...BOOM!)
I think the hitter of this year for me had to be Kong vs Godzilla
Lol
You miss underrated gems like Stillwater or The Dig, and clear winners like The Last Duel and The Green Knight to include Matrix 4 and Free Guy? FREE GUY???
The rest of the list is good though.
Not only that, but also Ron's Gone Wrong too since that flim did poorly but it is also a excellent and underrated film too
Favorite by genre:
1. Sci fi: Dune
2. Comedy: Licorice Pizza
3. Musical: Tick, Tick…Boom
4. Thriller: Titane
5. Drama: Belfast
6. Horror: (nothing worth honoring in 2021)
7. Honorable Mentions: The French Dispatch, The Hand of God
Have you seen The Night House?
@@dawnstorm1494 The night house was so good and deserved so much more attention glad to see someone mention it👍🏻
For horror you should put Jungle Cruise or Red Notice for how scary dwayne rocks lack of sexual chemistry is with his costars.
Last night in soho
@@dawnstorm1494 haven’t seen it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nightmare Alley was like watching someone set 60 million dollars on fire.
I didn't see the remake but the classic film is free on youtube and it's great. It would beat every film on this list that I have seen.
Best movies of 2021 for me: Godzilla vs. Kong, Judas and the Black Messiah, The Suicide Squad, Free Guy, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, No Time to Die, Venom Let There Be Carnage, Jungle Cruise, West Side Story, Spider Man No Way Home
And WEST SIDE STORY everyone forgets this one!
hey you...yes you, random person that i will never meet, i want to let you know that you are loved and deserving of everything! today is going to be a great day🙂❤
Thanks Bro, You're welcome, hope you have a nice christmas AND new year, God Bless All Of You
@@GG-in5zp Get this. If you look at his comment history . You can see him spamming the same comment by the way.
it's night😖
SBF as well???
I agree with Mitchells, West Side Story, King Richard, and Belfast but what about...
Encanto
In the Heights
Passing
Tick, Tick...Boom
"The Mitchells vs. The machines" were snubbed at the Golden Globes ☝🏻
What the fuck is actually wrong with watvhmojo, like are they making us mad on purpose or what??? Right of the bat matrix resurrection at number 10, is just ridiculous. I mean I didn’t think it was bad, but no where near top 10.
I agreed with the movies on this list except for the Matrix. Seriously, all of the honorable mentions were better than that and I can name 5 others that should've been there: Shang-Chi, The King's Man, Tick Tick Boom, Encanto and the Last Duel
Yes 100%
Mass kind of seems like 12 Angry Men but instead of 12 of them it's four parents talking about the tragedy they went through. It sounds interesting
Seeing No time to die on opening night is one of my greatest accomplishment
I didnt like Tom holland's spiderman, until No Way Home happened. It finally showed the true potential of Holland being an amazing spiderman (Even if I'm still thinking that Andrew and especially Tobey did it better)
Agreed and same
And the movie is focusing on the development characters either on the heroes and the villains. I'm glad they didn't Luke Skywalker'd Tobey and makes him the mentor of all of Spidermen. This movie should be call Fan Service Done Right.
@@margarethmichelina5146 as long as Tom isn’t iron boy jr anymore then it’s all good.
Agreed
Andrew is the best spiderman. No way home proved that.. he ran rings round them both
Even after ruining both SPIDER-MAN 3 and TASM2
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits of NWH
It’s embarrassing that you put licorice pizza in front of Spider-Man.
Imma hv to start making my own lists cz last night in soho and so many other dope movies aren't here
Dune by far is the best movie imo.
Amen
Nope
@@juliendudoue4727 what is then?
@@triggeredbeetle5370 west side story
@@juliendudoue4727 dune #2 then?
I appreciate Watchmojo not making this list only contains Si-fi, Magic or Action movies.
They've always been, smaller indie movies are usually better than big budget blockbusters
Licorice Pizza before Dune and NWH? Wow i haven't seen Licorice Pizza before, but i guess i have to now since it's above my favourite movies of this year.
I’m also throwing tick…tick…BOOM into the mix. Andrew Garfield did not need to work that hard to get his singing and piano playing in tact and also get a shoe thrown at him by Lin Manuel Miranda, just so that people overlook that performance. He’s freaking amazing! Hopefully that all made sense.
My ranking of every 2021 film I've seen:

Dune was boring
@@trollaccount292 Even if you found it boring there’s no denying it was greatly written with impeccable cinematography, visual effects and acting.
The Free Guy was awesome??
@@onidoremc9490 Haven’t seen it.
@@agi238 it is good movie if you do gaming and like sci fi movies
I definitely would have to include The Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder's Justice League to the list
But then they'd lose their artsy cred. This list is full of Sundance stuff no one outside it watched.
@@lukewilliams6083 it's top 10 movies of the year not top 10 movies that everyone has seen, ricky. Plus they likely don't want to add billy back bullsh*t movies like zsjl
@@chopchop1437 people watch what they like. This list is just full of Oscar bait.
What did you expect?? This is Watchmojo. They add almost every single MCU garbage to their top 10, and everything else comes afterwards.
I think you are sadly mistaken , with no major villain , I don't know why snwh is so hyped. Is it worth another watch?
If you like Coda; there is a german movie from the 90s: JENSEITS DER STILLE.
It has the same premise.
I have only seen two movies that were on this list and they were dune and free guy. I would have saw spider man by now but a lockdown happened so I wasn’t able to see it. There was a lot of my favourites not on here but this is WM where hardly my favourite is now the list
That's a pretty good list, I agree we had some great films, Dune is way up there,I love afterlife, the matrix, even west side story was a good one, and no way home is way way way up there too
C'mon C'mon was better than Matrix imo.
I preferred dune to all these films mentioned.
Where the heck is Ghostbusters Afterlife!? I'm a Marvel nut and I actually enjoyed Ghostbusters Afterlife more than I enjoyed the very excellent Spiderman: No Way Home.
Afterlife was one of the best sequels I have ever seen and possibly one of the best movies I have seen in the past five years. It was such a satisfying and touching movie along with being a wonderful tribute to Harold Ramis (may he rest in peace). It had everything a Ghostbusters fan was looking for and more (unlike the 2016 reboot).
Honestly, between the depression, loss, and disappointment I experienced over the past year and a half it was just nice to go and see a spiderman movie that exceeded my expectations and made a fan of the original movies super happy. I'll never forget seeing that movie and the smile it brought to my face.
My favorite film of 2021 is Tick, Tick...BOOM! Based on the reviews, I'm not alone. Therefore, I'm a bit surprised it didn't make the list at all, even in the honorable mentions.
Tick Tick BOOM IS BEING UNDERRATED BY CRITICS!!!!
My favourite movies of 2021
1. Belfast
2. West Side Story
3. Tick Tick Boom
4. CODA
5. Spencer
6. The Power Of The Dog
7. Dune
8. Spider Man No Way Home
9. In The Heights
10. The Last Duel
11. King Richard
12. Last Night In Soho
13. The Mitchells vs The Machines
14. The Harder They Fall
15. The Suicide Squad
Honorable mention : Pig, Lamb, Titane, Raya and The Last Dragon, A Quiet Place Part II, Passing, Shang Chi
