  • Watch as Marines surprise this World War Two veteran.
    When Marines arrived in Port Everglades for Fleet Week, the local sheriff informed them that there was a true war hero who lived nearby, and that he had a very particular problem the Marines might be able to help him with.
    The man was a Marine aviator who piloted planes in World War Two and had over a hundred combat missions in the Korean War. Captain Robert “Woody” Woodbury needed help with something that may sound small, but that was very important to him. He needed the old and worn American flag he had flying in his front yard replaced.
    Captain Woodbury could barely believe it when Marines from the Expeditionary Strike Group brought over a flag that had actually been flown on a US ship that very morning. After saluting the new flag he said that he was “flattered beyond comprehension” and that he was “really red, white, and blue”.

      Protect us, or protect foreign policy? The marine who wrote American Spartans said that the marines are foreign policy enforcers. The simple fact is armed men are crossing the border now, as they do nothing but what Simon says. How are they protecting you when the border is being overrun? Exactly. Use your brain, not your emotions, and all you will see is simon says order followers. Nobody buys that protecting us shit when our southern border is controlled by cartels, and not the armed forces of the United States of America.

      While they follow the orders of a traitor and tyrant against Article 3 Section 3 of the constitution of the United States of America. I'll believe they're protecting we the people when they start lining the border. Until then, they are complicit in Biden's treason. Their first duty is to defend the constitution against all threats, both foreign and domestic. Their second duty is to follow the orders of the president. Well their primary duty is being violated by their second duty. While they play simon says sir yes sir. Then when they get out, they have a 40% chance of being homeless, while the invaders are put up in hotels with your taxes.

      Pride yes, but there is a specific way persons that have served in armed forces how to salute. It's physically. mental and psychologically drilled into you and becomes automatic. This Marine fell right into the salute as if he never left the service.
      My Uncle was a combat infantry Marine and also served a tour in the Korean War. When he passed away, he request a service member of his family to sta d honor guard at his military funeral if there was a family member serving. I was the only family member that was actively serving. At his burial, his 2 brothers, my father and other uncle who had served came to attention and rendered a proper salute as taps was placed. My father served in the Army from 1956-62, his brother served in the army as well from 1966-70 and had served 2 tours in Vietnam,67-69. Over 20 years and both rendered a perfect salute according to the UCMJ. Yes its pride, but it's also becomes part of who you are. Military habits taught are habits for life.

      It's funny, growing up, I'd see my dad and uncles do things that I've never seen other fathers do. Like look at their shoes and the and rub the tops of each shoe on the back of their pants or check the zipper on their pants, then their belt and then the seam if they were wearing a button up shirt. When I asked what they were doing they all said the same thing, "it's a military thing, you wouldn't understand", and I didn't understand. Then when I went in and I started settling in to military life all the things my dad and uncles did when I was a kid and didn't understand, I started to understand. I retired after 20 years in 04. I'm 58 years old and have been out for over 20 years and to this day, I still do most everything I did in the military here in civilian life. And I don't ever think about it until someone that hasn't served asks what I'm doing? And like the Lion King song says, it's the circle of life. My ex-wifes youngest son enlisted in the Air Force after he graduated high school and is pushing 20 years as a computer engineer. I still stay in contact with her and the boys every couple of months and Jamie has told me on more than one occasion that he gets why I did some of the things I did and it didn't make sense to him either when he was young. I smile at that when I think about it.
      I hope with all my heart that this comment finds you and all your loved ones safe and in good health.

I instantly cowered due to how loud the gunshots were and understood from that point on. The man didn't end up serving overseas but I have massive respect for him nonetheless. @Jon Hesson, you obviously have had no opportunity to be a patriot or understand what it entails. Patriotism is a bad thing if done wrong, just like socialism. Some forms of small socialism work if done right and there are many examples of this. But what you told me is you have no experience in this and yet spoke to it. Sounds to me like if critical thinking needs work, you only need look in the mirror. Good luck sir and maybe focus on your own country. 😉

    • @shadowprep5304
      @shadowprep5304 2 роки тому +4

      @Jon Hesson Lots of Americans think loyalty to another country is bad. Its similer here in Texas where we can and will fly our flag at the same as the US flag, or not even use the US flag. ( I still feel like if we fully could, we would break away from the other 49) We have Texas pride over American pride. And its kinda why we are hated by the other 49, plus some recent laws that even I am against. Too much religion in the South....
