Inside Out 2 - Out of the Theater First Reaction - Can the Pixar Sequel live up to the first?

- Quick first thoughts on Pixar’s Inside Out 2! The sequel to one of my favorite Pixar films (which is no small thing I consider Pixar one of the most genius and most consistent production companies in the world)
This animated adventure goes deeper (rather than bigger for the sake of just going bigger) which is always my preference for sequels and it introduced some truly scene stealing new characters like Anxiety (an incredible Maya Hawke) Envy (the always lovely Ayo Edibiri) Embarrassment (the great Paul Walter Hauser) and more joining our old favorites like Joy (Amy Poehler) Fear (Tony Hale) Anger (Lewis Black) Sadness (Phyllis Smith) and Disgust (Liza Lapira) but can it live up to the near perfect first film? And does it need to?
A splash of mild spoilers if youv never seen any Inside Out movie and don’t want one of the themes explored revealed (about a minute in, with a warning)

As a mental health therapist, I really loved this movie and appreciate what it does to teach kids (and adults for that matter) about accepting the good parts and the bad parts of one's self. They handled anxiety very well.
My daughter will be stoked!
It’s such a good time!
Seen it yesterday, the 1st is my daughters favourite movie of all time and as an adult being able to understand all the things going on from a mental health standpoint with each thing they where doing, for me made it and the sequel 2 of the best animated films ive ever seen, its the perfect way to explain certain issues like depression or anxiety to a child without confusing them using these movies, and for that they are top tier, glad you enjoyed it man!
My absolute favorite part of the movie is when the emotions realize, specifically joy, that Riley needs all of it to truly form truthful perception of the person she really is. The good, the bad, the best, the worst, all of it. We can't push the worst of us to the back of our heads and only focus on the best parts of us. To live a life where anxiety doesn't control every aspect of our life, we need to embrace every part of ourselves. Loving yourself is incredibly hard and it's something that is completely impossible if you keep pushing the worst parts of yourself out of sight and out of mind. The dam will burst eventually. The first step to truly finding your true self is embracing your true self. Not as emotional as the first movie in my opinion but it has a message that is definitely just as important of a message to hear. I loved Inside Out 2! 9/10!
lol the kids trying to get into your video frame 😭😂but ok I’m excited to see it Sunday, get a free keychain too!!
I saw it with my daughter and son too. It was my early birthday gift for my son. His birthday is on June 16.
Love to hear that! And happy birthday to em!
@@CoyJandreau thank you young man ;) I wanna make a fan art of you coy
I just got out of the theater myself. Was apprehensive because I love the first movie so much, and I struggled a little with the fact that it was mostly building on the structure and ideas of the first movie, but in the end it really got me (full tears down the face style) and has left me with a lot to dissect and consider. Agree with the recommendation to go see in theaters, ridiculously beautiful animation.
Thank you for this, Coy. I've been really wanting to see this, but was trepidatious about doing so cause the first one set a very high bar and I loved it. Fear of disappointment abated. Can't wait to watch it now.
I love the walking review.
Doing this one on Monday. Looking forward to it. Been a Disney/Pixar fan since before I can remember.
Pixar is SO consistent! Hope you love it!
I think my wife and I enjoyed it more than our daughters, we were cracking up lol
Hahah definitely allows for adults to not feel trapped in there
Got my tickets for Sunday! Can't wait. Thanks Coy!

My college kid and I went to see Inside Out 2 this morning and we loved it. Sadly, my 15-year-old didn't want to go.
Glad your got to make a family day of it man! Even if whole squad didn’t join. Hope yall loved it!
I know this is random, but I just rewatched Ragnarok, and then watched the KH REWATCH with you/WinstonWinston.
What is the Black Planther thing hanging on the wall? It’s cool af, love your content, I don’t know anything about comics so I come to you for education 👊.
A little off topic. But comic based. Would you say the Punisher Max series by Garth Ennis is a good jumping on point for The Punisher?
Might watch tomorrow
Hope you dig it!
@@CoyJandreau same idea
Can’t wait to take my nieces coy usually we wait for streaming but I feel like since it’s summer I need them to go back to the theaters.
CHEAAA get back to Ze theaters! It’s a great one for it, hope the whole family enjoys!
I would appreciate it if you could discuss on KALKI 2898AD trailer and consider watching the movie if you enjoy the trailer. I'd love to hear your review too!!!
Is “punnery” a word?😂
Shame it’ll probably be the last Pixar movie to let the director take influence from their own experiences.
🤭 coyyyy
It is I
I think the first film was amazing but the second film was ok…
Clean your camera, Coy!
