But generally I like you playing slower and thinking through things. keep it up! btw. the "fried liver attack" is a very specific line in the Italian, where you can sac the knight on f7 and double attack / check with the queen. People will get angry with you if you're calling about anything "fried liver".

Short version: White should once in a while intentionally try out an opening move of 1. d4, in hopes of getting in some practice with making use of the 960 elo pawn and bishop technique of "uncovering a bishop attack". Black eventually learns, once white gets good enough, that 2... dxc4 is a bad idea for black, with 2... c6 being a better idea for black. Both white and black then improve their chess game skills from their resulting experience with bishop and knight and pawn combined tactics battles.
A goal for a 640 elo or higher player should be to be able, unless trolling or being trolled, to play the 1st two moves of the Queen's opening like a pro. An example is the 1st two moves of a recent January 2025 chess game between the World Chess Champion, Gukesh Dommaraju, playing as white, and a grandmaster named Vincent Keymer playing as black. 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 They were all textbook moves. Even the World Chess Champion lays down troll moves once in a while however. If black lays down a troll move on move 1 after the Queen's Pawn opening, white has it easy, since 2. c4 is still usually a good move for white. Black does not have it so easy on move 2 however if white has trolled on move 2. Half the time, black will then need to respond with something other than 2... e6. When neither 640 or higher elo player is trolling though, the World Chess Champion and his grandmaster opponent set a wonderful example to follow with the Queen's Pawn opening.
