- Bun B sat down for yet another interview with VladTV, and this time around he spoke in depth about his close friendship with Pimp C and how his UGK group member's death deeply affected him. He also shared stories about 2Pac nearly keeping him from doing "Big Pimpin" with JAY-Z, and how "Int'l Player's Anthem" came together with Outkast.
To hear more stories, including being the first person outside of Cash Money that Lil Wayne rapped with, hit the full interview above.
For those who says he's using a "White voice" understand that he's well traveled, and he also teaches at a college I attend (Rice) here in Houston
If you switch up your swag and than go to thr streets acting like you from the hood you fake ass fuck
@@nonenone4078 good thing bun have never actrd like he had or has swag.
@@user-nk7up9jm9r he sounds the same bro.
It’s called growing up.
Someone said he’s using a “white voice”?!?! I’m white. Dude doesn’t sound a thing like a white person. Bun B is Bun B. End of.
Correct pronunciation and enunciation of your words IS NOT "white voice" or talking "white". The man is intellectual and conscious of how he presents himself.
Nah it's something off about him. And the teeths of these dudes. It's getting spooky
It's just proper presentation & speech. You clearly understand everything he's sayin that's how its supposed to be.
ua-cam.com/video/tJQnVVDfWng/v-deo.html
Exactly. He’s very intelligent
But you would never think he's the same person...like his speaking voice vs. his lyrical voice...its crazy.
Bun B hella underated. Bun verses be so nasty bruh
Maybe in your neck of the woods, in the south hes a legend
Oh fuck yea. Hes fire
This man's verse on Murder is Top 5 all time, on god.
Ahh!! I see you seen that Pitchfork video with T.I. where he explains his favorite verse by Bun b on murder.
Still Learnin 4332 he slaughtered murder !!! The king of getting chickens !!
His verse on high life is beyond biblical. Buns himself ain't a solid dude.
Yeah he went all the way on murder!!!
On God
Bun B the Trill OG. Perfect blend of street & book smarts.... Helluva evolution of a Man...
Big fuckin facts bruh
REPOST!!
If Pimp C was still alive half these rappers wouldn't even be out.
____ cuz like pac he would be calling these cats out
shit im watching this right now ua-cam.com/video/-7DRo20X0iI/v-deo.html
Unfortunately, if Pimp C was still here, his music wouldn't get much airplay because he's considered "too masculine" by those who control the music industry.
Facts
I disagree he couldnt stop anyone from blowing up.. Smh y people think these niggas got power to stop someones career.. If big was here thered be no jayz if mase was here fab wouldnt be out if pac was here nas wouldnt be.. Foh pimp c? U kidding
Bun B not even flexing just wearing a T Shirt with a pocket on it
Dude is soooo humble! He's the type of guy that would show up to a BBQ and everybody would give him hugs.
That's how real dudes do it
I've met him several times web I would be hanging at the Screw shop and every single time he was just like us. Never came off as an "I'm bun b" type of guy.
Because you don’t need to flex to prove to people you have money
He got it down people that be flexing hard usually broke😂
UGK 4LIFE......R.I.P SWEET JAMES JONES!!!!
We stay up for ever
Chad b tha pimp
Bun B the Texas legend. Much love from Miami....
Nah he did the pimp dirty
@@36FREAK how he did the pimp dirty?
I remember being stationed in Fayetteville NC in 94 or 5, and reading a Source mag and Bun getting 5 mics for His verse in Murder. I have to say it was like a victory for southern rappers/people period. My personal experience was at that time the east/west thing was going on. Being in the military in Fayetteville I noticed the locals all dressed and acted like they was from NY. The music they played in the clubs was east coast. I couldn't stand it in the clubs, I'm just saying you got people from every where on a military base, so I had partners from NY, to down south. So we had little beefs amongst ourselves. I had been listening to UGK since "Tell me something good." I bought it on cassette single in 1990, the first album wasn't out yet. Like I said it felt like a personal victory, Bun getting 5 mics for that verse. "Smelly red jelly!".......
Fuckyeah!
One of the hardest verses ever put on wax’s! “King of moving chickens not them finger lickings!”
man we was listening to the legendary ugk in seattle back then too
Fayettenam!!!!
It is a dope verse... Bun and Pimp are hall of fame
Vladtv gotta interview bigboi from OutKast 👀🔥
My son is called Bun because of this amazing artist, and his middle name starts with a B so Bun B it was. He is a GOAT! Stay trill keep it 💯!!
Can’t drive through PA without singing “I’m from Port Arthur TEXAS representin TIL I’m dead ...
Met him when I worked at TSU we were hiring him for a halftime performance. One of the best people ever just really a good dude.
Bun kinda makes up for all the idiots Vlad interviewed 🐐✊🏾
Exactly, this cancels out like 5 Boosie and Crunchy Black interviews
Man bun b seem real happy with his life right now the trill o.g
Growth and development.
👍
Bun a neutron but I feel you though
I understand the universal concept. Bun accomplished what we all want. From being a Boy, to one of the Guys, to a Man.
So some of yall dissing on Bun for sounding like he's "white"?...ignorance is bliss I guess. Regardless, doesnt take away his credibility and contribution. A family man and living rap legend still doing his thing. Already!
Super Tight is the best Rap album ever! #1
"When yo momma crying its all useless you aint ruthless you just yo mommas baby"

Bun B is og. Always comes off as a good dude.
I got a pocket full of stones...love it bumpin that shit in hood and homiez loved it
You can be articulate and street. It's a time for everything. Plies played at North Carolina State and in interviews in the past very well spoken but now back is pronounced"bike" yack 'yike" something is wrong with that.
UGK alum checking in! Best VLAD interview ever.. Salutes to the TRILL OG Bun B... R.I.P. Pimp C!!! UGK4LIFE
I cant say loud enough SHOT OUT TO THE TRILL OG!!!
Lol nobody V tv interviewed speaking voice can top bun b's voice lollll😄 powerful as hell.
I've always admired Bun B. Smart and articulate M.C. and a great person. Much respect.
Thanks Bun B for talking to the masses
Living legend...real hip hop!
One of my favorite rappers.
Bun is a damn vet in the game! Rip C.Butler, Screw, Hawk. Pimp would be proud.
I personally would have loved to see the human chain they made, trying to make it up to pimps house.
Bun b needs his own documentary
I agree
One of the best rappers of all time
This episode needs more views
This was great. I hope to see him on here again in 2020. Much respect Bun B. 💯
He ain’t lying about Bridge City & Vidor, whew no black man should ever be caught in them towns
Zeke Levy I’m from a city by Galveston and we knew that you do not stop in Vidor for nothing, Gas, Food nothing.
Yep, my gramps used to tell me about the Klan being headquartered in Vidor
I’m white and I don’t even stop there
I’m from 409 Beaumont Texas
My grandma would call Vidor the sundown town
Legend of rap. So lowkey now
DIDN'T REALIZE JUST HOW DOPE THIS INTERVIEW WAS BUT REWATCHING IT, HIT LIKE A MUTHA 4 REAL, SO MUCH RESPECT FOR THIS CAT!!!! ✌🏿
The song murder is so hard I had to go listen to it in the middle of this interview!
I wish I had taken classes in college from Bun B. Something about the guy makes me want to ponder everything the guy says.
I'm 39 Victoria Tx born n raised 361 all day. I tilt my hat to one of the OGs of Texas, Bun B hearing the stories n getting a greater understanding of what artists endured at the points of time makes me appreciate his talents, sacrifices and love for who he is. Thank you Bun N Pimp C for pushing through it all. UGK fan For Life.
Bun b sounds so different on how he talks from the way he sounds in the music that he made.
Yea his voice sounds country white, and some dumb ass on here had the nerve to say he is speaking in a intellectual way which happend to be a voice of an Caucasian👀...sounds like some racist like tendency.
I was thinking same ting
I'm not hearing any difference.
No filler words!
Bun B. The most consistent artist down south... Home of the Trill... UGK 4 Life Homie
Diamond and wood .... Love it
Don’t forget how intelligent he is he teaches a class at Rice University
And im trippin that cats on these comments actin suprised that he's speakin intelligent ishh, aint ya'll ever heard any his verses? Everything he spit on them trax is full of knowledge, game, intellect, shiii, i been knowin 4ever way b4 i ever heard him speak outside a track that he was extra intelligent
I enjoyed listening and watching this full-length interview with Bun B in my opinion. Pimp C will never being forgotten because he'll forever be remembered. I learn about the duo's former label Jive Records didn't no any favors for them. Well, Jive is now out of business. J. Prince saved Bun's life when he released his Trill album. As for the lean a.k.a 'sizzurp', I wasn't into that when I found that DJ Screw and Pimp C died from that several years apart from one another. Bun B's the legend. Underrated.
My Brother been in the pen for about 10, now look like when he get out I'm going in. Masterful!
One day you here
Yep all apart of the mans plan my brother. You are making him so happy
I love that part of the verse
So shid I walk around with my mind blown..... Only the real ones know this one!!!
"for damn near 10 but now it like like when he come out man I'm going in" get it right
17:00 Houston still got love for DJ Screw, he's a legend down here. You can still find some of his tapes at thrift shops and flea markets here.
Astro you already know, I'm from Screwston Texas home of the plexes.
Htown all day
Is the MLK Flea Market still open? In the 90’s that was the ish! You could get Herringbones(Flats, Gold Chain) Rims, mixtapes, clothes everythang. Those were the days🤷🏽♀️
@@texasgradeandmade5929 naw its closed, but Johnny has a flea market down the street from it selling only jewelry
Jordan Whitehead Thanks for answering. I’m in Nola and I miss my people and those Mlk days😂
I love Bun. But I hate when he switches his diction in different interviews. If he actually talked like this then cool. But this ain’t what I heard from him growing up. It’s just weird hearing em talk like that. Sounds super forced
Awesome never knew Bun was a comic book guy
Rip Dj Screw Houston would of been in the spot light if he hadn’t passed shout out bun b Texas legend
Screwston, Tx
💯💯 yep
Say Screwston, Tx don't forget, Rockets back doed twice now they call it 2ston. Lol
It was but then all the promising up and coming rappers were getting killed and they had gotten into shitty local record deals which stunted their success
Man could you imagine a UGK and 3-6 Mafia album🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Lol... Right!
Mane I got Underground Kings, The naked soul of Sweet Jones, Trill OG and Trill II this guys made timeless music. I just played 100 this morning.
This man is intelligent
I live in Dallas and I remember when tell me something good first came out...during that time I had went out of town for a little while and ran into a couple of cats from Houston and we was talking about hip-hop and they mention underground Kings .. he was telling me how dope this song was called tell me something good and just how dope the two MCS were and that they were from Houston.. I got back to Dallas and that song was all over the radio but during this time everybody was saying UGK so when I find out underground Kings stood for UGK I was like oh wow!!... I later found out that they were from Port Arthur Texas but they rep for Houston at some point in their career as well...Type in (Transitions D.R.U.M.S RUGGED) on UA-cam
This dude vlad really just asked this man was he hustling smh now i see why they call him a police
Lol
Real shit
we need a Bun B OG album right now
Met UGK in Louisiana, they came to a high school basketball game and gave CD's out. Some guys I knew went to Texas and true to rob them and UGK shot they car up with a pump and hit dude in his neck. When they came back I saw the car and it looked like Swiss cheese.Made that song (Riding around town in that old beat up azz Cadillac)..
I always wish that UGK, 8ball & MJG signed with No Limit back during that 97-99 era when shit was droppin every 2 weeks. To hear a whole album or albums from UGK and 8ball & MJG produced by Beats By The Pound would of been dope
There are only a few "rappers" that I think carry themselves like adult men and I enjoy their interviews: Bun-B, B Legit, 50 Cent, Too Short, Ice-T, Master P. Beyond that, a lot of other cats still act like Kids and use childish logic. Respect to E-40 because I know he has to use his slang as a part of his marketing plan, but when I want to hear an adult interviews, my list is small.
TI is another one who is interesting to listen to
The entire Wu Tang Clan speak like knowledgeable adults
Damn an Underground Mafia album would have been fire.
Most influential rapper, talking some real shit. Awesome
I love his verse on "give me that".
Port Arthur Texas mane my hometown ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

Ugk was my favorite group with Outcast.
Lol this cant be the real Bun B lol. He sounds like a southern Baptist preacher. Who likes to hunt and fish in his spare time lol

U.G.K FOREVER, R.I.P. PIMP C!!
He doesn't sound anything like he sounds when he raps
South texas legend salute to you brother 💪🏿👏🏿
Vlad is Russian! Many of you don’t have foreign friends so I wouldn’t understand, of course vlad understands English BUT just out of habit I talk really clear and precise when I’m talking to people from different cultures because it’s just easier for them. Learning English isn’t hard but imagine ur just now learning English and some one speaks to you in Jamaican patois or fucking Louisiana dialect. You’d be thrown for a loop
The end of this interview is like...the game “7 degrees of Kevin Baccon”...salute to UGK...Salute to BUN!!!
