Rod Newton Hey Rod, thanks for the great feedback. So, just to be clear - make sure the purple (reverse) wire on the unit is connected to the 12V Reverse wire on the vehicle. GND - use a good solid bolt on the car body for your ground. Including the rear camera GND. Secondly. The rear camera itself will have the RCA just double check and confirm it’s actually plugged into the “camera” plug behind the unit. Secondly. You want a nice good GND for the camera (again a bolt or screw in the body) and the camera wants either 12v reverse light power (like the unit) or 12v acc/ign power. hay guys another question, which lightning adapter do you recommend? I see the apple ones are $75 then theres ones on ebay for $15? Also does it work for netflix as there's heaps that say "not supported"
Nik Demopoulos Hey mate! The Genuine cable is recommended, however not always necessary. I’ve seen a BUNCH of the cheap cords fail to work, look for a reasonably priced cable that isn’t large at the phone end (if you have a case and it doesn’t plug in properly it won’t work). And “decent” cable should work fine. Netflix = no go. The only Apps that will work on CarPlay AND Android Auto are those that are approved and safe to use while behind the wheel. Netflix and UA-cam unfortunately don’t meet the criteria. Watch our video on Mirroring, you need an android device but it’s still pretty awesome.
@@TheFittingBay Quick update on my 9200dab unit got it all hooked up today, was a bitch to mount in the ford transit as there wasn't too much room back there. Got the mirroring to work with the hdmi / lighting cable :) All good with netflix and youtube !!

Only difference compared to the 9100 is that has AppRadio mode, 9200 has Weblink. Both are useless, you'll use them only once, see how rubbish they are and only use Car Play/Android auto. It's worth noting that (at least on Android Auto) for some reason Waze uses the phone's GPS instead of the GPS supplied by this unit. Google Maps does use it correctly.
Alan Newman That will be an issue with the Waze application I would say. Perhaps an update will come out to rectify that. Also we don’t have the 9100 here in Aus. When I googled it, it came up with a bunch of EU websites. So for the Aus folk, this is the only option for a media unit with almost all features available today.
I just got this thing. Hate it. The resistive screen feels like crap. The one on the display in store seemed like it was solid glass. I'll be getting my money back if possible. Real disappointment on pioneers behalf

Both units are on par but like I said I’ve been impressed with this Pioneer unit
Does the Unit support Android Auto Wireless? (I don't mean the mirror function)
Trying to decide on this on the kenwood dmx8019dabs. Any advice?
Rob S Kenwood all day
This is more or less like Z9250BT right?
Correct :)
The Fitting Bay thanks for the review mate lovely :)
Does it have auto answer if hooked up to an android phone?
Ashley Sefton You can turn Auto Answer on, yes 😊
What is the network bus cable used for please
Mackers8578 Hi mate! Network bus cable? Please elaborate
Does this have wireless Android auto? Some sources say it does others say it doesn't.
100% supports wireless android auto - some say it doesn’t because android wireless is terrible. So bad that you might as well not even have it.
This supports Apple CarPlay wireless right?
P VE Yes it does! Needs speed pulse wire connected to work though. Unfortunately can’t mimic that on the test bench.
How is it different to w8400nex? And will it fit 2015 wrx sti?
dcx That unit isn’t available here in Australia. They look very similar though. The 8400 has on board navigation. This does not. The 8400 looks like it has wireless android auto which isn’t available here yet either.
This also has DAB+. But overall they’re fairly close as flagship models.
dcx Yes it will fit in the WRX
How did you connect your apple play
Ricardo Lepe Wireless (wifi) or plugged into USB.
The Fitting Bay, wifi brother.
Ricardo Lepe no stress! Just plug the phone in and it will ask if you want to allow wireless to work (on the phone) just tap yes!
Then you can unplug and it’ll connect automatically for you 😊
The Fitting Bay, thanks my man it worked. The unit is awesome.
Hi would chassis of this avhz9200dab be same size as avh5250bt ?
Colin Cook Yep both full size double din I think the fan on this comes out a little further so it might be slightly larger but they’re both full size double din. What car is it for?
@@TheFittingBay 2016 t32 xtrail
Colin Cook it’ll fit
@@TheFittingBay you beauty thanks
Do you know which apadter ill need for for the volvo xc90 2009
Albert Sadsad Jump onto www.aerpro.com and put in the vehicle details 😊
Would this fit in a 09 Ford Focus?
Yep!
Does this come with a cage?
MrIamJaded Sorry, yes it does come with a cage!
hay guys another question, which lightning adapter do you recommend?
@@TheFittingBay cheers mate, im running a i phone 6s so i guess using no for u tube as well ?
@@TheFittingBay Quick update on my 9200dab unit got it all hooked up today, was a bitch to mount in the ford transit as there wasn't too much room back there. Got the mirroring to work with the hdmi / lighting cable :) All good with netflix and youtube !!
DEMOP Thanks for the update! I’ve worked on some Transits before. Mounting the unit (brackets) can be a pain as well!
Awesome news about the mirroring! Through HDMI you’ll be able to use ALL of the phone apps, plugging it in via USB will give you CarPlay but that is no Netflix or UA-cam.
Hope some of the videos helped with installation and thanks again for the update :)
does it have CD/DVD player=?
yes when you press the eject button the screen goes horizontal and the cd dvd slot appears
No Android Auto?
Juan Carlos Da Silva it has Android Auto and Android Mirroring 😊
can you play divx files on this unit on the SD card? thank you
kociekkotek You can only play divx files through the DVD drive or the USB port :)
@@TheFittingBay , thank you for you replay, i found out yesterday if i convert my files on mov. SD card will play them but unfortunately mov files is huge. I tried play them on a pen on usb2 but does not read divx either i need to try usb1, or do i need hdmi-usb ?my apologies for trying to get this sorted this way,is just because radio have been fitted and is a pain to keep trying pulling it out everytime i need to try a port. Cheers
kociekkotek Hi mate you should run the USB cables into the glove box so you don’t need to keep taking the unit out.
Divx files should work through USB 1 but just try both to be safe. If not. Check the files are actually divx converted properly and also format the USB to FAT32 then try again.
@@TheFittingBay hello mate.i have done all above and more, I tried USB 1/2 still nothing, I double check the conversion and it is on divx home theater, I also used one of the files I used on the SD card (mov format) and works on USB1.my old unit would work with no problem on SD card and USB but this new one is just not going well. I wonder if I have a faulty radio, don't know! I used the pen on FAT32 with no joy either. I got the free version off divx convert (don't think that makes any difference tho)I haven't installed the unit my self so I got the eletrician to double check if he missed something but everything is ok. is just pissing me off because pioneer claims it plays divx but if is only on dvd what is the point of that?!
kociekkotek Yeah that seems odd. Maybe call Pioneer tech support? Just run it by them. Maybe the USB needs to be a different format, not FAT32?
So lame that they dont make any top of the line w/o a cd dvd player
Does this work with iPhone X?
dawnmurana1987 Yes. Bluetooth / CarPlay (plugged in and wireless) will all work
You didn't show us android auto mate .thats unfare 😢
Does it have weblink?
Wessel Pot yep :)
Vai por isso na loja pá!
david lourenco English :)
I just got this thing. Hate it. The resistive screen feels like crap. The one on the display in store seemed like it was solid glass. I'll be getting my money back if possible. Real disappointment on pioneers behalf
madrx2 Hey mate. I do agree, as I say in most videos for units with resistive screens, it’s annoying and definitely not on par with capacitive. Will it fail you? No, most likely not. Does it feel cheap? Yep! But this unit is literally packed with more features than most other units available. Have a look at the Kenwood DDX9019DABS. It’s got an awesome capacitive touch screen and loaded with features too :)
@@TheFittingBay thanks a bunch. I do like the unit I just hate it that the screen looks like Its always has dirt on the screen. If I am able to get it refunded (which isn't likely) I'll go the Kenwood. Thanks!
madrx2 Yeah 100% know what you mean. When did you get the unit? Only recently right? Under aus consumer law you can return it.
@@TheFittingBay Oh really thanks so much. yes just last week. Does that count still if the original box was thrown in the recycling ?
madrx2 Umm that will be hard as they will want the unit in as close as possible to original condition. Any chance of fishing out the box? Wouldn’t hurt to go in and have a chat to them. At the end of the day you’re unhappy with the product and you’ll most likely be getting the Kenwood from the same people so it’s not like they’re losing a sale.
A piece like this is sending the wrong signal to thiefs....when They see a high END product like this one They also know you probably have a serious amp and sub’s to accompany this expensive toy and that is why that screen have to come off when you park the car...a break in is an expensive repair + your other expensive gear that is Even more expensive than your pioneer unit😁😉
Ew
Will this fit a Peugeot 107?
Yep you’ll need a Facia kit etc but it will fit :)
