I have a tape cassette(remember them?) somewhere with Jonathan throwing a barney because I played too fast in one solo section of a Metallica cover we were practising in the basement and he broke a string (must be around 1991 ish). Say hi to him next time you see him. I'll try and get down to a gig if you're in the Northampton area and have a chat. So it's an HH after all ! Like Portnoy's 22". He either picked a stunning example from the factory or he EQs it very well.

This has a very A7X + Mike Portnoy Nightmare vibe to it.
That ride cymbal has a beautiful tone and unmistakable "Zildjian ping" to it.
(And before I get any flaming that it's a Sabian just remember who formed Sabian - they're Zildjian Ks in all but name made at the old K factory !)

Hey man, good to hear from you. Yeah I was sold on that ride years ago when I was looking for a new one and wanted a combination of ping and wash. It's a 20" HH Rock ride. I don't understand the Sabian heckling (I've had it before), the HH and HHX ranges are mint. I'm not happy with the crashes though (AAX Stage), I'll be replacing them one by one sometime soon and just keep them for live. I'd like to go back to Paiste, the 2002 range is exquisite!
