The trading post looks great, and it's a really cool idea. I'm not surprised that it consumed the whole build budget though. The trick with aligning the floors was very interesting, I'll try to experiment with it at some point. There are enemy spawn points pretty much everywhere, and I think any camp has a chance of getting attacked whenever the owner is present anyway. If it's only dogs and mole rats, don't bother moving. Those neon letters cost 11000 caps. It _has_ to be a database error, I refuse to accept that they could be deliberately priced that way. I still don't have them, but I got the little metal letters from defending a workshop some day.
Nice build, and a clever idea! Hoping the rumors I heard about actual vendor stations becoming buildable items at your camp are true. They would make an awesome addition to this build if they are.
I hope so too! They were in the trailers and promo footage, and so I was expecting them to be in the game at launch. Would definitely help the in-game economy.
@@mr.dovahkiin5335 Yeah, gives me a jump as well. But even more frustrating is having VATS tell me, at point blank range, they're a 95% hit chance. AND IT MISSES!! Mongrel dogs are even worse.
I usually do a sniper rifle build but I keep the best medium speed melee weapon I come across (highest DPS) just for molerats and mongrels, radroaches, bee swarms, and even fireflies. Even snub nose pistols miss those first three critters as they get inside the shortest barrel, but a Melee hit is a kill in one or two swings with or without VAT assist.
So glad I found the small letters plan, especially considering their value. Awesome build. Very concise and easily identifiable as a trading post. I used to give away known plans, but now I'm hoarding them until player vending is implemented. (Player vending was supposed to be the 9th April 2019, but it's been pushed back)
I'm years behind on fallout. I've watched all your videos on fallout 4 because I'm a settlement nut. Tha KS for doing 76 videos as well! I'm finally starting the game.
Awesome build Idea. I do want to make a trading post/home for myself on this so I can help people out that are leaving the vault for the first time or need something but the budget cost is just terrible for what you want to do (clutter, turrets, lights, Signs, Etc.) but this is a nice little build :) also you might know this but since you were having a issue with making sure the floor pieces were on different levels there is a way to raise it up by holding (and don't quote me on this) A and using the left and right bumpers to raise it up, only thing is you have to make sure you remove the floors around the floor you want to put on a different level, thought I'd say it but other than that its a nice build :) keep up the good work.
@@WastelandDovahkiin I can understand that, didn't know if you've heard of it or not so I'd thought I'd share :) either way great work and hope I can see it in my travels when I need to buy some resources
I love the trick with the posts, that's awesome. There is a trick where you put 2 conducts near the middle of a wall, then swap the wall for a doorway, so the conduits are floating in the open doorway, there you can connect a wire between the 2 conduits so when you swap the doorway back to a wall the wire passes through. I haven't experimented too much with it (and I completely forgot the youtuber that I learned this from, sorry) but I guess it could work with a half wall and a half wall window. Just in case we need a new wire glitch. Now that I think about it, you might need the second conduct directly on the same wall. Humm... Very nice build, I have been thinking doing something similar for a while. I'm really going to kit my character in that sniper outfit now I see it in the game, looks sweet. Cool trading post , hope to bump into in the game 👍
Nice video. You can place all 8 foundations. Then remove the two foundations adjacent to the corner it that you want at a higher elevation. Then you can select the corner and adjust the height while keeping it perfectly lined up with the rest.

@@WastelandDovahkiin Particularly since the railings on the metal stairs tend to get in the way if you try to use them at ground level. If we had the shorter ones, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be a problem.
FOUNDATION HEIGHT HACK: Place your foundations down. Remove the foundations directly adjacent the piece you want to adjust in height. Select the piece you want to adjust. With the piece selected, hold A (on Xbox) and adjust height using the left and right bumpers. This will adjust the vertical direction only and will allow the X and Y location to remain the same. Once you have the height correct, tap A (on Xbox) to deselect the piece. Hope that makes sense. Also on your lettering, there are default words already prebuilt in the game. Spelling out the word “components” uses more camp budget than the prefab word “components”. Just a suggestion to save take and budget. Nice video.
I actually used the prefab word for "components" in my build. Also, I've always used that method to raise and lower objects in Fallout 4, but in Fallout 76 I've had a lot of trouble getting it to work reliably. Usually when I try to do it the object will just shoot straight up out of sight or off to the side, and the only way to get it back is to deselect it. That's why I didn't do it that way in the video. I don't know if it's just the Fallout 76 build system freaking out on me, or what.
It really helps to draw a picture of it first. That's what I did with this one and it made it a cinch to build compared to others where I just winged it.
If you can use the "swap" function to change the letter, you could just line up a single row of like 12 "A"s, and then blueprint it and stamp it down for each word, then swap the letters as you need them and store the ones you don't!
@@ArtThingies I did blueprint the letters the first time I built it, but they all won't fit in one blueprint. I ended up having to make four all together. But only 1 would place down afterwords, so I had rebuild more than half the menu board from scratch after I moved the camp.
i always just dump my excess and unwanted items either right in front of the vault or in containers near vendors where lower level players should encounter them
Building this! Now there's a brotherhood checkpoint next to the wayward so I'm build my trading post in front of it utilizing it's defenses since there's 3 brotherhood soldiers on it!
Wasteland Dovahkiin My thinking is set a foundation then attach a ramp foundation. When you attach a foundation to the other end it automatically alights either higher or lower. Then if you remove the ramp from the middle and replace it. The foundation should align to either the higher or lower foundation. Once placed you can just remove the alignment foundation if three is too much. It’s speculation though I haven’t tried it.
