  • Pronghorn have the longest ground migration in the continental U.S. and, although this 160-mile trip transects various ecosystems and landscapes, they prefer wide open spaces. Thanks to their keen eyesight, they are able to see movement as far as four miles away and can employ any of three main danger responses to warn the herd before predators are close enough to attack. Running is their best defense due to their great speed but having advance notice gives them even more of an advantage.
