I understand Ka’s music isn’t for the masses, but his messages warrant a massive audience. We live in a world that craves mediocrity and mindlessness unfortunately. I personally think his delivery and production are perfect for what he does. I’ve never heard a second of wasted space on any of his solo projects. Dense indeed. How can 35 minutes weigh a ton? I place his lyricism among the greats. Gil Scott-Heron, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone level material. And as smart as the music is, it never speaks down to its listener. That can be a hard line to balance on, but he pulls it off perfectly every single time. Pure soul.
Btw I'd say this is def some of KA's best production EVER.. this man is in his prime at 52 yrs old.. that shxt is unbelievable.. this man has dropped 10 masterpiece albums in a row!! Craziest album run in any genre EVER!!! This mtfkr is a brilliant genius poetic behemoth that provides unlimited food for thought
U can tell Ka does this effortlessly with ease overall emceeing. Definitely he's always up his production works, samples, chops, definitely deserves to be commended. Don't know which is better Honor kill the Samurai, Orpheus vs Sirens, The Martyrs or This one. The answer is none of them he continues to one up himself everytime.
Really? Man you got a nice listening session of great lyricism that are amazing. Every album is amazing. Metal Clergy(Roc Maricano &KA)is becoming Detox of Underground rap.
@@clarktownsend8991 Definitely gonna have to go back and check his previous music out then. I know of Roc Marci (and listen to him frequently) but yeah aside from Roc, and Mach-Hommy crazy lyricism like this is relatively new to me.
Honor Killed the Samurai, Descendants of Cain, and Orpheus vs. the Sirens are essential Ka albums to check out for sureee... feel like this one here that just dropped is going to be amongst those in the near future!
It really is a sad day in Rap/Hip-Hop when someone like Sexy Red, Uzi Vert is more known than this incredible Poet/MC Ka. This is a perfect example of what happened once Hip-Hop/Rap became a business. See Ka is the very true personification of what Hip-Hop is.
Very tough listen, better than LAWS but damn it's cryptic, feels like the first time I heard Rosebudd Revenge, i'm sure i'll like it eventually. The album might lack a clear highlight like Argo or I Love, and the scream is the last song is jarring af to me lol still a good project as always
Yea, this album is a lot to take in. Definitely one of his most dense work. Really love the concept of this as well as the beats. In regards to stand out tracks, I think the Intro, Borrowed Time, Such Devotion, and Hymns and I are probably the tracks to put someone on.
Great album!! I guess we just have to enjoy the work and not be concerned with others. Why do the masses not like him? Why do the masses believe in politicians and their preacher?
@@gullywu8690 production choices although I think this is his best produced album. Not a fan of his monotone voice and his delivery but can definitely appreciate his music for being incredible just not for me.
It's weird .Ka is my favorite since 2011, but while I enjoy him and marvel at his mastery of his narrative style to the point I discovered more with each listen, I almost never recommend him to others . Why? Because unfortunately, Ka in hip hop just doesn't check the boxes that most even open-minded rap fans require . His musical choices often lack real groove and his vocal tone can be redundantly hushed throughout a whole project for many . , I can totally see how his production can annoy a listener from not wanting to revisit . That said, this album is all I'm unpacking for the next month per usual .
R.I.P. Brownsville KA 😢🙏 he passed away
He is a prophet.

Ka is one of the illest writers ever! This music is not for everyone.. Only the real feel this! Grown man rap! Word up! ✊
Thinking man's Hip hop
I disagree, good brother! It is for everyone... everyone just doesn't know it - yet! Respect, bro! ✊🏽
KA is what nYC rappers sound would of mature into if the " Game" wasn't infiltrated after the Golden Era 😮😮...They made you love the south.

Yessir, you put me onto something new with this one! 😂 Never knew of Ka before today, but now I know.

Check out The Nights Gambit too!!
Albums crazy! On repeat since its release! 🔥
I think that people don’t want to think and the ppl in charge don’t want the public to think.
bro ur so fast with the reactions, very appreciated great video.
😂 I'm really not! This just happened to drop at the perfect time on my day off! Preciate you for tapping innnnn
My 3 favorite album this year behind Peggy Lay my life down for you & Lupe Samurai. Awesome review my G!
Nice top 3!

Just listening myself never disappointed
I'm buying this album.
I actually just listened to this the other day... Never heard of him prior to the random suggestion to but i liked it a lot.
This sound collection is gorgeous
totally agreed with ya..
to bad its only on his site but with these fire songs... i kinda understand
should be on streaming sites within a month or so, he usually delays the full release
I agree with you, by far the best album this year
Ka is doper than other rappers . His pen and purpose makes others even good rappers seem like child's play in terms of meaningful content .
Exactly 💯 he says stuff you'll NEVER hear a lot of other rappers EVER say. An A-league Battle rapper is the closest thing. Loaded Lux or Daylyt type

I had those same mugs lmfao it came with plates and bowls n shit lol
cool little detail: the title of the first track is in the order of topics he addresses.

@@MINO Respect King 👑💯
Can't get over his voice usage unfortunatly. He is definitly a great lyricist though
def fair!
where can i listen to it ?
You can get it off his website for $20, but I know someone uploaded the album on UA-cam, too if you search it. Should be on streaming soon!
Can’t get into his music but definitely respect the mans pen
Yea, definitely an acquired taste!
