I have suicidal thoughts from time to time, depression, I always think I can't get out of the hole I'm in and it eats me up inside, I've tried several times to get a job and to this day I'm unemployed.
Oh my god I am unhealthily in love with Shane. I think it's because I understand how hard it is to live with anxiety and depression and every time he said something self-deprecating or when he expressed his thoughts about suicide, I attached myself to him. After I married him, and he started becoming happier I was so excited. Plus, let's be honest here, he's absolutely adorable
Shane was the first ever villager I romanced in Stardew. His story threw me for a complete loop, as I didn’t know anything about the characters. He was so stubborn and it drew me in. I don’t regret my choice, as Shane has become my favorite character now.

This is single-handedly the best animatic I have seen. The song choice was impeccable and the art style was INSANELY good. This video portrays the emotions I felt while playing the game and none of my friends understood why I love Shane so I sent them this video to explain it. This is something really special, it put my emotions into something tangible and I am sure I'm not the only one who connected with this video. It takes real talent and skill to be able to connect with people and you have done it to an incredible extent!

I knew he was probably a good person but he just didn’t want to talk to me at first.. slowly I started to fall more in love with him.. I struggled with suicide and depression before so his story was extremely relatable to me.. then I saw that he slowly started to make changes and became a happier person.. that’s when I knew I had to give him the bouquet.. after the 10 heart cutscene I proposed that day.. I couldn’t wait any longer.. I didn’t have a wedding dress or veil but I wanted to marry him right there.. the amount of character development he has just made me fall in love with him.. I’m so happy that I’m his wife and for my first play through he’s my first husband..

i watched this when it was first released and it honestly gets me teary eyed, every time i do watch it cause of how much i relate to shane. i went after him the first time i played stardew, and being a recovering alcoholic myself, and having very tough times in my past i got so invested with him as i play even if i dont date/marry him hes one of the first i always befriend. amazing video hun
I absolutely love the Shane story arc. Currently married to him in my playthrough and the whole journey was nothing like I ever expected. The song and this animatic really encapsulates the storyline in the most wholesome way and uuggh it's so perfect and sweet! Well done fantastic work!
I remember my first time playing the game was with my friend and I had 0 knowledge about any of the bachelours or Bachelorettes. I immediately liked Shane, maybe because of his "shut up, leave me alone" attitude that I saw myself in him, but I absolutely loved the slow burn as the character gets closer to him despite his cold exterior. My friends and I later on joke around that "I have a thing for alcoholics" which is all just for laughs, but he is so sweet after you marry him, and seeing his progress just fills my heart.
Definitely a very beautiful animation. I'm not married to Shane but I gave him the bouquet, and the truth is that Shane is my favorite character, after Alex, I never knew why the depression, if it was because of Something from his past or just to fill the game, but hey. Also, beautiful animation.
I always get stuck between Sebastian and Shane. I love chickens so much so it really hits me different! I literally only befriended him in my first playthrough (married Harvey) not knowing he loved chickens and was just like taking it as a challenge that he didn't want to be friends. I just started play sdv a few days ago and ive already married shane. This animation made me cry as i love his story so much and all i wanna do is hold him and tell him everything would be okay. The whole reason i love and relate to him so much is because he reminds me so much of someone i care for and this person has worked so hard to stop the habit of drinking and is so much more a better person just like how Shane is through it all. I cannot express how much i enjoy this animation even if im 3 years late to it ❤😂

This video brought back a lot of memories from when I had comphet for Shane, back in 2019. I think what happened was that, like many of the other commenters, I saw myself in him, from the love of chickens to being suicidal, and I initially mistook that comforting feeling of familiarity for a crush. I'm only suicidal on-and-off now, and, interestingly, what has really helped me lately is going to the local farm once a week. I have a special connection to animals that I don't feel with humans. While I have social anxiety with humans, with animals, I feel at ease, as though I'm one of their kind and I belong there.
Update: I haven't gone to the farm in a while (maybe 2 months) due to extreme heat. I really miss my animal friends. Then, UA-cam randomly recommended me a bunch of Stardew Valley videos, so I picked up the game again. I'm almost through summer year one. I just upgraded my house, I have a dog and two chickens who I love very dearly, and Shane is my boyfriend again. I couldn't help myself. After all, the farm kept my crippling mental illness at bay, and now... Anyways, UA-cam recommended me this video just now, and honestly, I envy my past self. I can't help but feel like I took the real farm for granted even though it's my own intolerance to 90+ degree weather that's holding me back. At least I have the virtual farm to tie me over (somewhat)...

So a 2 days ago I felt down. I went up to the water on a bridge, and was looking for a reason not to jump. I laid on the ground, cried, and was about to go when my bf called in absolute despair. He knows he can't fix me. He knows I wont heal with just some love. But he can help. That's who I want to be for shane. The day after my breakdown I saw this animatic. I think ive seen it at least 15 times since then, and I get teary every time. Thanks, cause if I would've jumped I might not have seen this
Shane is the best. He's a sweet guy, despite being standoffish at first. I have such a soft spot for him. I've tried going after the other spouses, but I always drift back to him. I love him so much.
Shane is my favorite because tbh I dont have the "you cant fix him" i fell in love with Shane when we always crossed paths, i started to follow him to work and walked him home and hanged out with him at the bar. I even started waiting in front of his house, his story is really sad too. I then destroyed the joja market in the end and had him live with me.

i watched this when it was first released and it honestly gets me teary eyed, every time i do watch it cause of how much i relate to shane. i went after him the first time i played stardew, and being a recovering alcoholic myself, and having very tough times in my past i got so invested with him as i play even if i dont date/marry him hes one of the first i always befriend. amazing video hun
I absolutely love the Shane story arc. Currently married to him in my playthrough and the whole journey was nothing like I ever expected.

I remember my first time playing the game was with my friend and I had 0 knowledge about any of the bachelours or Bachelorettes. I immediately liked Shane, maybe because of his "shut up, leave me alone" attitude that I saw myself in him, but I absolutely loved the slow burn as the character gets closer to him despite his cold exterior. My friends and I later on joke around that "I have a thing for alcoholics" which is all just for laughs, but he is so sweet after you marry him, and seeing his progress just fills my heart.
Definitely a very beautiful animation. I'm not married to Shane but I gave him the bouquet, and the truth is that Shane is my favorite character, after Alex, I never knew why the depression, if it was because of Something from his past or just to fill the game, but hey. Also, beautiful animation.
I always get stuck between Sebastian and Shane. I love chickens so much so it really hits me different! I literally only befriended him in my first playthrough (married Harvey) not knowing he loved chickens and was just like taking it as a challenge that he didn't want to be friends. But now I just "I can fix him" Plus, HELLO BLUE CHICKENS?! YES PLEASE!

I just started play sdv a few days ago and ive already married shane. This animation made me cry as i love his story so much and all i wanna do is hold him and tell him everything would be okay. The whole reason i love and relate to him so much is because he reminds me so much of someone i care for and this person has worked so hard to stop the habit of drinking and is so much more a better person just like how Shane is through it all. I cannot express how much i enjoy this animation even if im 3 years late to it ❤😂

This video brought back a lot of memories from when I had comphet for Shane, back in 2019. I think what happened was that, like many of the other commenters, I saw myself in him, from the love of chickens to being suicidal, and I initially mistook that comforting feeling of familiarity for a crush.
I'm only suicidal on-and-off now, and, interestingly, what has really helped me lately is going to the local farm once a week. I have a special connection to animals that I don't feel with humans. While I have social anxiety with humans, with animals, I feel at ease, as though I'm one of their kind and I belong there.
Update: I haven't gone to the farm in a while (maybe 2 months) due to extreme heat. I really miss my animal friends. Then, UA-cam randomly recommended me a bunch of Stardew Valley videos, so I picked up the game again.
I'm almost through summer year one. I just upgraded my house, I have a dog and two chickens who I love very dearly, and Shane is my boyfriend again. I couldn't help myself. After all, the farm kept my crippling mental illness at bay, and now...
Anyways, UA-cam recommended me this video just now, and honestly, I envy my past self. I can't help but feel like I took the real farm for granted even though it's my own intolerance to 90+ degree weather that's holding me back. At least I have the virtual farm to tie me over (somewhat)...

So a 2 days ago I felt down. I went up to the water on a bridge, and was looking for a reason not to jump. I laid on the ground, cried, and was about to go when my bf called in absolute despair. He knows he can't fix me. He knows I wont heal with just some love. But he can help. That's who I want to be for shane. The day after my breakdown I saw this animatic. I think ive seen it at least 15 times since then, and I get teary every time. Thanks, cause if I would've jumped I might not have seen this

Shane is the best. He's a sweet guy, despite being standoffish at first. I have such a soft spot for him. I've tried going after the other spouses, but I always drift back to him. I love him so much.
Shane is my favorite because tbh I dont have the "you cant fix him" i fell in love with Shane when we always crossed paths, i started to follow him to work and walked him home and hanged out with him at the bar. I even started waiting in front of his house, his story is really sad too. I then destroyed the joja market in the end and had him live with me.

Gah!!! This is so precious it hurts! Great art style, great timing, great song choice, great everything. I've been working on unlocking all of Shane's friendship heart events over the last week and gah.... I only tried to do it for the blue chickens (because I love love love chickens), but man, those cut scenes got freaking real. And this animatic is so perfect.
