The term sim wrestling game is an oxymoron. Wrestling is scripted so trying to make a wrestling game "realistic" is stupid. Wrestling is about the theatrical aspect so making it more arcade like is more authentic
Absolutely baffles me that they just can't seem to keep Special Referee in as a permanent patch type. It was in the game during the PS1 days, then removed, put back in, and removed again. Why is it so hard to keep this match type in permanently?

Fact check: 2K14 is only considered a 2K game because THQ split from Yukes right before the game came out and 2K bought Yukes. 2K14 was a 100% Yukes/THQ build with the 2K stamp on it. The first true 2K game was 2K15. That's why it was so bare bones compared to all the previous Yukes/THQ entries.
I miss the ability to import your own theme music. It made creating a wrestler awesome. The only thing that was missing at the time was importing titantron walls. These games have regressed a lot.
Create a Finisher & The ability to add custom music in Create an Entrance were the BEST ones removed. If Sony and Microsoft would get on the same page on this one.. I would love to see WWE allow custom move sets and in-game entrance music of those who didn't make the cut on the roster as well as former superstars.
I hope the Aew video game lets us perform moves from the top of the stage. That way I can play as Darby Allin and do a coffin drop on the opponent through a table.
I miss the ability to upload custom entrance music. That was one of my favorite features in 2k14. It helped make your created wrestlers more unique because you could give them whatever theme song you wanted instead of having to borrow another wrestler's theme song. I hope we will be allowed to do that again eventually.

I prefer deeper gameplay, more in-depth experience around the ring, than some crazy, flippy-floppy fish shit off the Smackdown! Fist... No, I don't miss that, not at all... That being said, WWE 2K does need to improve interactivity backstage and brawling areas... However, I do appreciate that WWE 2K has made a more functional Cage Match, though... There are pros and cons, but I think WWE 2K has more pros than cons.👍

Just-A-Cory Right, WWE2K14 was the last game I ever bought because after that they decided to go with slow paced realism and remove good features, like I still play 2K14 to this day and I still create new characters, it holds up pretty well
WWE doesn't want replay ability in their games. They want you to always buy and play the newest games that come out, and keep moving forward. That's why they release one every year no matter how rushed and bad that are.
The best feature that was removed from WWE video games is the ability to use our own theme songs. :( I miss the days when I can remove Rey Rey's WWE theme and use either an intro cut version of his WCW theme.

I never knew about being able to climb the smackdown fist or the KOR chair until a few years ago and I've been doing it ever since I've had friends over that didn't know about it and when I climbed the fist they were confused but yet stunned that such a thing was possible
Another option I miss is while on the Road to Wrestlemania storyline for Smackdown vs Raw 2011 is to just walk around wherever and go into whatever room or area you wanted to and just Beat up whoever Wrestler you saw as a Threat to you onto the top and jump into a Backstage Match and just Brawl whoever you just picked on or saw as a Threat meaning Competition and just have Random matches whenever you wanted and in WWE 2k18, 2K19, and especially WWE 2K20 that option is gone, that is what I want back, especially the Bar room Brawl Match that was in Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 on PS2, hopefully those two options are back in the Wrestling games

The minigames for pinning and submissions that were introduced in some 2k gane were sooooo much better than just the "mash buttons" method. In all the old games, you could see when a match was gunna end because the wrestler would be totally immobile flat on the mat,and if someone pinned you when you were in that state, it was impossible to kick out. The analogue minigames mean that you always have a chance to kick out or break the hold. That is definitely the best thing 2k did
Bra and panties matches need to be put back in the game to make a Third women's division have the SD or Raw Women's title as world title then divas mid card title and then have a third division that consist of T n' A matches and the tag titles to have a variety show in universe mode
Bra and panties matches will never return. The women in today's wrestling would not be okay with that because the whole point of the Women's Revolution was to steer away from the diva era and actually allow the women to showcase their wrestling ability instead of just being eye candy. As much as the kid/teenage me loved playing those type of matches I understand that it will never happen again. People would get offended and boycott WWE if those type of matches would return.
I want intergender wrestling back so I can use Chyna and beat up all the males she fought against. Delegating her just to fight the women is insulting to what she accomplished. Heck they even acknowledge she fought men in 2k20.
I really miss the create a finisher mode, it was more fun that each of my original character have their own named finishers with custom moves instead of just choosing other superstar move.
6:41 I imagine table physics have changed with having to build up a red bar before putting your opponent through a table in Table Match now... I can kind understand, because I did hate how before you could win Table Matches off one move, very little effort to win those matches... I figure, that's why tables aren't easy to break anymore, as it would make Table Matches last a little longer having to fill up that red meter, before you can put your opponent through the table, right????

They need to bring back the match type that you had to put a title on the line and it had I don't remember how many in the match but when someone got pinned they became champ and whomever was champ when time expired was the winner

2K have completely sucked the fun out of wrestling games. No story designer, GM mode, RTWM, or a proper season mode. Fun matches taken out as well. It's a shambles.
Also, in-game unlockable content, instead of DLC or having every wrestler at the ready. I get why DLC is an option ($$$), but it was more fun to unlock different wrestlers and venues during Story Mode or different game modes, like a Survival Mode
Ya. The WWE games started sucking once they became badly executed "realistic" simulators. It's cliche to say Here Comes The Pain and No Mercy are the best WWE games, but it's true. 2k14 was the last good one though.
As much as I want to see it come back, I don't see how they bring GM Mode back. It was more realistic in earlier titles and would of actually worked until around 2k19. In the earlier titles we had Teddy long for smackdown likewise with Bischoff for RAW. But in current state of wwe, we don't have any per say general managers.
I'd like it for universe mode if they had more than the 3 generic crowd reactions for all wrestlers. Give us massive pops for big faces and violent sounding booing IE pre head of the Table roman or Shawn Michaels in Montreal for big heels.
Easier to just cycle features in and out throughout the years while slapping NEW! on a box... charging another new price tag... these types of games aren't about quality anymore... they're about quota. But hey at least we have modding communities to be innovative.

WWE games have been awful since 2K took over. They're too realistic these days to point that the they're just not fun anymore. You'll get bored in 10 minutes tops. People try to shame others for playing old games. There are people still playing Goldeneye 007 on the frigging Nintendo 64 (an old console) and that game has been around since '97 when it was originally released. People are still playing that game to this day and I get shamed for playing the Nintendo Gamecube still!? Give me a break!
I hated how back in the days, they started to restrict divas from playing certain matches, it was so shit because I loved playing as the divas and it got worse because at some point you could only have 4 divas in the ring 😑 and you couldn’t even do any matches other than normal pinfall matches

Dude in ref mode I used to create a heel ref or one like earl who had some type of character to him. He might screw you over, he might fight back, he just might get laid out Lmaoo

The two best features ever were road to wrestlemania mode and slobberknocker mode.. would be nice if they didnt make the showcase mode so frustrating..
I never knew about being able to climb the smackdown fist or the KOR chair until a few years ago and I've been doing it ever since I've had friends over that didn't know about it and when I climbed the fist they were confused but yet stunned that such a thing was possible
Another option I miss is while on the Road to Wrestlemania storyline for Smackdown vs Raw 2011 is to just walk around wherever and go into whatever room or area you wanted to and just Beat up whoever Wrestler you saw as a Threat to you onto the top and jump into a Backstage Match and just Brawl whoever you just picked on or saw as a Threat meaning Competition and just have Random matches whenever you wanted and in WWE 2k18, 2K19, and especially WWE 2K20 that option is gone, that is what I want back, especially the Bar room Brawl Match that was in Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 on PS2, hopefully those two options are back in the Wrestling games
Special Referee mode was only removed on the next gen consoles. It appeared until the last gen’s WWE 2K17.

The minigames for pinning and submissions that were introduced in some 2k gane were sooooo much better than just the "mash buttons" method. In all the old games, you could see when a match was gunna end because the wrestler would be totally immobile flat on the mat,and if someone pinned you when you were in that state, it was impossible to kick out. The analogue minigames mean that you always have a chance to kick out or break the hold. That is definitely the best thing 2k did
Bra and panties matches need to be put back in the game to make a Third women's division have the SD or Raw Women's title as world title then divas mid card title and then have a third division that consist of T n' A matches and the tag titles to have a variety show in universe mode
Bra and panties matches will never return. The women in today's wrestling would not be okay with that because the whole point of the Women's Revolution was to steer away from the diva era and actually allow the women to showcase their wrestling ability instead of just being eye candy. As much as the kid/teenage me loved playing those type of matches I understand that it will never happen again. People would get offended and boycott WWE if those type of matches would return.
I want intergender wrestling back so I can use Chyna and beat up all the males she fought against. Delegating her just to fight the women is insulting to what she accomplished. Heck they even acknowledge she fought men in 2k20.

I really miss the create a finisher mode, it was more fun that each of my original character have their own named finishers with custom moves instead of just choosing other superstar move.

6:41 I imagine table physics have changed with having to build up a red bar before putting your opponent through a table in Table Match now... I can kind understand, because I did hate how before you could win Table Matches off one move, very little effort to win those matches... I figure, that's why tables aren't easy to break anymore, as it would make Table Matches last a little longer having to fill up that red meter, before you can put your opponent through the table, right????

I always loved the create a finisher lol. Maybe that gets a lot of hate because it was introduced in a time when the series slowly began to decline (svr09) but i loved making finishers back in the day

They need to bring back the match type that you had to put a title on the line and it had I don't remember how many in the match but when someone got pinned they became champ and whomever was champ when time expired was the winner

2K have completely sucked the fun out of wrestling games. No story designer, GM mode, RTWM, or a proper season mode. Fun matches taken out as well. It's a shambles.
Also, in-game unlockable content, instead of DLC or having every wrestler at the ready. I get why DLC is an option ($$$), but it was more fun to unlock different wrestlers and venues during Story Mode or different game modes, like a Survival Mode
Ya. The WWE games started sucking once they became badly executed "realistic" simulators. It's cliche to say Here Comes The Pain and No Mercy are the best WWE games, but it's true. 2k14 was the last good one though.
As much as I want to see it come back, I don't see how they bring GM Mode back. It was more realistic in earlier titles and would of actually worked until around 2k19. In the earlier titles we had Teddy long for smackdown likewise with Bischoff for RAW. But in current state of wwe, we don't have any per say general managers.
I'd like it for universe mode if they had more than the 3 generic crowd reactions for all wrestlers. Give us massive pops for big faces and violent sounding booing IE pre head of the Table roman or Shawn Michaels in Montreal for big heels.
Easier to just cycle features in and out throughout the years while slapping NEW! on a box... charging another new price tag... these types of games aren't about quality anymore... they're about quota. But hey at least we have modding communities to be innovative.

Imagine growing up with the original wrestling games oh wait I did all the other games are shit compared to the originals kids now days would cry about the old graphics. Make a up to date graphics version of NO MERCY if it was the same mechanics and I'd spend 100 bucks for that game
