It’s now 2024, Game Theory has become more than what anyone in the world could have thought. Having 4 more wildly successful channels. MatPat and his wife have a wonderfully cute child, made an impact on the world through the internet. And just a couple weeks ago, MatPat uploaded a tearful goodbye to the internet. Stepping down from the channels to let new faces and theorists take the reigns. The world felt the pain but overall showered him with love and an acceptance of his departure to be in the background, a father, and our favorite overthinking nerd in peace. What a ride it’s been.
I’ve come back to one of my favorite videos. To remind and thank MatPat Past, Present and Future for everything. He’ll never know quite what he’s done for me and everyone else.
My theory is that Rosalina is 400+ years old. In the beginning of Super Mario Galaxy, they explain that a comet passes by every 100 years, that comet is of course the observatory, and it would have been about 100 years to see it, 200 to realize that it came back, 300 to start celebrating it, and 400, to be able to say you celebrate it every 100 years.
it could also just be a folk tale that she heard. Tho i definitely think rosalina is not just an ordinary human but something more. Like a celestial being presenting in the form of a human. I mean she is like 7 feet tall and also she is always seen floating

That is what I thought when I saw Radiant Peach.
Wait, what if Rosalina is not Peach's daughter, but her SISTER? I mean, think about it. In Yoshi's Island (yes. I'm going back that far.) There were 5 "star children" remember? Mario and Luigi were two, Bowser was three, and Peach was four. What if, and I'm going out on a limb here. What if Rosalina is the fifth child? I mean, we're never told the fifth one. I would fit the story easily. Her and Peach might even be sisters, each trying to solve the mystery of their mother's murder? I would explain why they look so alike!

Watching this video after hearing the news of Ronnie’s passing is extremely saddening, however I also realized how much character there was in his editing style. Even though I never knew him, I can say that he will be sorely missed and always remembered.

Matpat should really record audiobooks. When he was narrating Rosalina's story I felt a chill. The way he says "She's been sleeping under that tree", he always has a way of pulling the listener in and making them feel something. Usually creeping horror or dread, given the nature of his channel.
Rewatching old Game Theory videos just feels so timeless. It's like MatPat's videos from then and now never changed yet still is enjoyable to watch, damn

From a 3d modelling standpoint unattached ear lobes will cost a lot more polygons and make the character higher poly which could be a problem for the game so it may have been a choice to make it as low poly as possible so the ears are attached

My theory is that Rosalina is actually Peach's sister. Since Rosalina's mother doesn't look like any character we have seen before, maybe she's the queen of the mushroom kingdom? That could explain why Rosalina used to live in Peach's Castle, it must have belonged to the queen before Peach was old enough to rule.

Here's a theory: Peach and Rosalina are sisters, with Rosalina as the elder, which is why they look so similar. Remember how Peach didn't have any earrings when she was a kid? Those earrings are her mothers, and she inherited them when her mother died. As for why Rosalina isn't living with them? It could be that she was an illegitimate child who had to be banished to avoid a scandal.

Rosalina stays her age(age we see when the galaxy(or a timeline) is destroyed),but everyone is old like in the start of the game. That is why Rosalina and Peach look like sisters.
