- After a long wait, finally Gilas fans has the reason to celebrate after the SBP or Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas annouced that they are on the last stage of negotiation regarding the new and permanent coach for the Philippines' national team.
But after the annoucement from SBP, Mr. Homer Sayson has explosive article with regard to the said new Gilas coach.

Tim Cone is a very good Coach , but we need a Coach who does not committed to any PBA team .. as long as they are committed to PBA League same system lang mangyayari dyan ...same people same result , i guess si Josh Reyes at si Jong ang assistant coach.. malabo na tayo mag improved internationally kung sila sila pa din ..wag tayo manatili sa mindset na puro mahihinang bansa lang ang kaya natin talunin ... at yun ang Gilas ngayon ... pag kalaban ang malalakas na team sure talo na ... that's not called improvement..long term solution ang kailangan..

Nakita na rin natin ang ganyan sitwasyon ng pinag coach si Tab Baldwin. matatandaan natin na napilitan siya na college players ang gamitin matapos ang COVID 19, at ganoon din ang nangyari limitado ang mga pba players ng bumalik si Chot. Kung masisiguro ng SBP na palagi nakakakuha ng PBA players, OK sana yan. Dahil nga wala nmn matibay na pahayag hangga ngayon ang SBP panay hakahaka. Maski nga si coach TIM naghahantay pa rin sya ang appointment letter.... BLACK and white.

Ever since Gilas lost to the Indon team in an Asean basketball championship handled by Chot the clamor for changing Gilas head coach gain its momentum but SBP did not budge Gilas fans was so mad that it resulted to Chot being booed in front of foreign teams and of course from fans at the venue and these watching on TV The debacle in the 2023 WC led to Chot resignation as head coach paving the way for Tim to handle Asiad team and despite lack of presence of WISH players the team delivers the Asiad gold for the ist time after 62 Yrs If Tim accepts the selection I suggest he form 2 sets of pool say a pool from Pba and these at Japan and Sokor leaque The other pool coming from collegiate players and Pba's rookies to be handled by Tab due to his familiarity with collegiate players and european style of basketball The latter pool will represent gilas say Jones Cup and Asean games in preparation for bigger task ahead when PBA players are not available
