- DIY Mason Jar Light
I recently did a job for a local client, where I built barn themed loft beds for her two girls. I work in conjunction with a local designer and together we collaborate on the final look. This time she had sent me some lighting ideas involving the use of Mason Jars. I took those ideas and made a few minor changes of my own and came up with the light you now see in this video.
This project is fairly easy to do as long as you have a few basic tools and the necessary supplies. If your interested in purchasing the Mason jar light you can either find it on my website or in my Etsy store, I'll place those links below.

If you would like to make the Mason Jar light yourself I'll place links below to the tools and materials I used. These are affiliate links to Amazon which I do earn a very small percentage if you make your purchase through these links.

Doug, these lamps were beyond perfect for the lofted barn wood beds so the girls can have reading lamps ! You ALWAYS deliver above and beyond our expectations with your amazing creativity. Thanks for another one of the MANY creations that you have done , and for being such a huge inspiration to any design that I've ever had ! THERE IS ONLY ONE DOUG....and I know I (and everyone else) feels so fortunate to have you work on any project. Is there anything you can't do ? You are the best.
Kristi Morgan thanks Kristi you are a rock star and it's always fun work on projects with you.
I give you a tumbs up because you explained the whole process very well but the most important thing to me is that you put the list in the description of the materials, many videos show you what they did and how they do it but then you don't know where to buy the materials .
great contribution ... tnx
Thanks Jose
Awesome nice
Many many thanks
Hello if i plan to hard wire this lamp in a piece of wod i will need to drill the hole in the side rigth?
Not sure understand which hole your referring to.
nice look, just a question - because there are metallic parts, don't you need a ground wire?
I'm sure it wouldn't hurt but I only had the zip cord in my shop at the time
I realize you made this video a while ago, but I just saw it today. Did you use regular incandescent bulbs or LED bulbs ? Do the mason jars get warm/hot to the touch ? Nice video.
they were incandescent at first then because of the heat I switched over to led
Do you think this would ould this work for lights in a bathroom?
@@rainygreene9161 I don't see why not.
where di you get the jars please?
I bought these at Wal-Mart
Nice job but sucks to have to do all that drilling into metal parts.
With the right drill bits, it wasn't too bad. Thanks for watching Al
You should of ran the wire straight through the wall base plate to conceal the wire.
haha yeah I hear you. The client actually received the hard wired version. The video, I just hung them in my shop because it was easy. Thanks for the opinion. :)
I am electrical mr m Rafiq lone
no offense, but i hate project videos without explanations as u are doing the video!
I have to agree. This was one of my earlier videos and I was still trying to get the hang of it all. I deleted the source video or I would refit in a voiceover.
