- In the past I’ve shown you the best video editing software. Those we’ve mentioned like DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro do have a high learning curve. Many have asked what free editing software is great for beginners making videos for UA-cam or another video site. In this video I’ll show you the Top 5 best free video editors for beginners. All of which once downloaded can be used offline without an internet connection. At the end of the video, I’ll give you a quick getting started tutorial of our #1 pick.

All mentioned are a lot easier to use than programs like DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro making them great for beginners. None require an internet connection to use. So if you ever go offline, you won’t lose any of your work… Thanks for watching :)
clipchamp has got to be one of the worst out there. it's good for little projects, but, that's it. it's slow, cludgy, clumsy, takes forever to get files loaded...
shotcut is like 'bring it, bro, I'll do what you want me to.' and then it does it.
Perfecfly pitched presentation AGAIN. Thank you 🙏🏽 Brett

I run Linux. I use Kdenlive to edit and handbrake to compress for web (UA-cam or Facebook). They are easy and free.
Great video! Thanks for the mini tutorial at the end. 👍
Super tutorial for Shotcut, even a mini one. Thanks, Brett!
Good tutorial, i had no idea that editing could be so straight forward. I don't know why I thought it was going to be as hard as climbing a mountain with no experience, but now i know its as easy as falling down a mountain with no experience!
Good Stuff!
We all like quick and dirty and that is king in this video. Good stuff Brett!!!!
Another informative video. Thanks.
I made my first ever YT video (as in the first one I considered good enough to be actually uploaded LOL) using iMovie just a couple of months ago….and from my complete-beginner perspective, iMovie is the absolute best video-editor for noobs like me - it has basically no learning curve, the UI is super easy to navigate and work in and the app already comes with tons of included resources and effects you can use in your videos. 👍👍
Thank you for this!
I'm trying to upload games I've played and needed an editor but I've never done this before.
Thank you so much for the tutorial.
BTW, the free 2D/3D modeling and animation program Blender includes a pretty powerful video editor as just another of its highly capable tools.
Thank you for the Shotcut tutorial! Just installed it and will play around with it more later.
Suggestion for a future video: What are some free recording alternatives to OBS Studio that don't have a watermark?
(Stuff designed for gameplay is a plus.)
Have found your videos especially useful.
Everyone should know about the free Lossless Cut. It does one thing and does it really well. It enables you to trim video clips without the bother of rendering and setting parameters and such. Drop in your file, cut the beginning bit, cut some of the middle, cut the end, and save. Fast, simple, and easy. Also, free.
Thanks, been looking for something like this.
Great
What about someone trying to accomplish putting together a video on their Android device? Any suggestions?
Openshot is also very nice. Simple but effective alternative to vegas.
I want to know if any of these video editing sites allow you to put images on your videos and let you keep the audio since I tried this with another site and it didn’t let me
Thanks i was using Clipchamp but it kept on crashing and not allowing me to export videos that took days to make and then I got shot cut super good.
DaVinci Resolve is another
Great work Brett
Yeah, I was wondering why DaVinci Resolve wasn't mentioned. I assumed it would be number one (where is usually appears in most video editor lists).
@@amazingbollweevil I read in the description that it takes some time to learn

Looks great, so thanks Brett! What I'm wondering about is how something that good is "free." There must be a catch? 🤔
With freemium software the catch is they hope people will upgrade to their paid product. With free and open source software like Shotcut there is no catch. Development is often supported by donations from users.
@@BrettInTechWow, awesome, great to know! And thanks for a fast reply! 😎✌️
Also what about canva ?
Can’t find Shotcut on apple App Store at the moment.
How about kdenlive?
👍👍
shotcut has an 64 bit only version.
kdenlive should have made it.
Also capcut is a good
Apple needs to update iMovie so bad its not even funny
I realize there are more but but really curious why you didn't include Capcut, free open source, powerful, reasonably simple, huge community and certainly better than at least a couple you highlighted. Capcut also does a great job of background removal/chroma for videos.
