This statistics video introduces some of the terminology used in statistics with examples. While we don't want to get distracted by "technical lingo", it is important that we are familiar with some of the words that are often used when introducing things in statistics, words like variables, population, sample, parameters, external validity, internal validity, descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics!🎗Like to support us? Your lecture is so great, I've watched so many videos on YT but didn't understand the term (population)parameter and (sample)statictics, here I got it when you first explained. You are one of the best teachers I ever had. Thank you so much. I would be very happy if I could take courses from your university, but to be honest I'm in the other side of the world. I'm not that good at english but I understood your every sentence. And I was looking for a good Statistics course but I found this excellent one. Thanks again for your lectures.
One of the finest courses on statistics I've ever seen.very good course Understood so many concepts in this course. your explination is very good.Thank you sir.
I wish you were my lecturer teaching me Statistics at my uni... By the way, when talking about major relation to depression, I like your facial expression and I can see what you were thinking at that moment! hahahaha
@@LeotheMarvellous im not suggesting anything in this comment, but i would say that work takes up such a big portion of our life, so it's always good if you can find something you enjoy doing in your work...hope you have that :)
Let me get this straight: Internal validity checks whether you’ve controlled for all the right variables so you can say your conclusions are valid for all sub samples within your sample and external validity checks whether there exist variables you did not control for that would prevent your sample’s conclusions to be generalized to other populations?
This is a lightboard.. Actually he is right handed but seems to be left handed.. After recording the video is flipped so that we can read it.. So left becomes right...

thank you for explaining this so that I can understand.
Another great lecture! Thanks!
Very helpful, thank you!
can you suggest some books with these lectures?
Thank you very much!!
Thank you sir :)
Excellent, thank you 🍁
you're welcome :)
Very good. What about 'statistical unit' and 'experimental unit'?
sure, those are other names used for what I've labeled as "unit/subject"
I have a doubt.
What if the students that is our sample lie about not having dipression? Then our estimate will be biased right?
Yes that is related to internal validity of sample
Hi. What's program do you use to do this video?.. How to simulate the writing in the screen?
Sir great lecture till now... I just have one question, can I still continue this series even if I only want to do statistics with python?
Nice!
How do you write backwards?
Scattered in statistical term 😮😮
Thanks!
you're welcome :)
Is nobody going to comment on how well he writes going backward?
the video is edited dude.
I always wondered.. are you writing backwards or you have a special system..?

He is using big transparent glass infront of Camera...
@@ameenshah1164 ah, why didn't I think about that lol
