Thank you, this is exactly the clarity I was looking for. Plus, the bonus tip for me was how many routers you should have in one area, and the process ID explanation. Thanks!
I have one question/ doub/ query can pls some1 help I have simple topology, 3 R, & 3 PC . connected in ring. topology running single OSPF. > all R connected in Ring by serial cable > to each R a PC is connected by GE cable When I run show ip ospf interface command I only see the DR and BDR info on GE interface and not Serial int. My question :: why this info seen only on GE int and not on serial? my asumption (pls correct me if i am wrong) GE cost < Serial cost ? Thanks in advance
You need to set Interface IP of R1 as interface GigabitEthernet0/0 ip address 192.168.1.100 255.255.255.0 duplex auto speed auto And in PC you have to give the Gateway...you mat got the solution...but it may help others.
I would like to thank you, for your simple yet effective explanation, which by the way seemed effortless from you.
