Rest in peace to Mr. Conley who peacefully passed away amongst family today. Last of a dying breed of man.Hopefully this video helps carry on his legacy.
I had lost touch with Alex after I moved from Madrona in the early 90’s. I used to visit him in his shop located a few blocks from my house and spent many times just visiting and talking. Alex was a good man, actor, singer and and a master hatter. He was always unselfish with his time and I miss his positive outlook on life.
What an extraordinaire man and hat maker....soft brims and spoken words....a vision for tomorrow, knowledge and memories from yesterday.....hats for the extraordinaire,,,I pull my hat!!
I have 2 hats that Mr Conley made for me about 6 years ago, and another he repaired. I was honored to have met him, appreciated his patience as I watched him work and answered my questions. I was sorry to see of his passing..
How much extra does it usually cost to get it custom made? There are a few Borsalino hats I really like that only come in one or two sizes, would've been cool to get them made by him in my exact size.
Today I shed a few tears in memory of one of the truly great men I have ever known! May you be "As Mello as a Chello" In Heaven!!! I love you Alex Conley!!! RIP
RIP good sir. I'm a budding hattist and keen to learn the most I can from greats like him til I can get supplies to start. Thanks so much to everyone involved in this production so that people like me could get to know a bit about legends like him. 💙💚

You don’t find many hat makers,,, if I only I could apprentice under someone to learn the craft
change it did
I hope You're still with Us .

Hope he was able to pass on his hat knowledge to a younger man or woman. RIP Mr. Conley.
