I absolutely loved watching your video. All credit to you for undertaking that adventure. I have a 1999 Disco 2 which I love. It’s just up to 93,000 miles. Rear seats gone and a wooden self fitted. I can get a very comfortable bed in the back with my legs under the shelf. Simple curtains fitted all round. I’ve just retired from 27 years in the fire service and looking forward to some adventures in my Disco. Your video has got my imagination going. Perhaps not the Pyrenees but certainly the West Coast of Scotland 😃👍
Hi from the UK Tom Searching is a trade off. I’m 66 and still working, because I want to be with people around me keeping me young and active. Recently I employed a Uni graduate, who had never left the UK, and quit after a very successful 6 weeks. He said, you all have families, mortgages, houses and work 44 hours a week, I want more so I have bought a flight to the USA. About 3 months later I was asked for references from a Company in Washington. Maybe all he has done is just move to another city. You on the other hand, are doing this right. The book First Overland still lives in the adventures memory. You are making memories not things, keep going until a new chapter opens. I have an old defender, a unique model, never has ever leaked a drop of oil, and, yep, it does have oil in it. 😊
Bloody hell did this hit home Tom!! Me and my partner are in the exact same boat, got kids(under 3) but beyond that no idea what we want to do besides travel in our disco.. nomads at heart. Loved the video, you’re a good lad and will find your purpose!
Hi Tom, 55 years old and I can’t shut-off the questions from my sub-conscious: what am I going to do with the time left to me. So far I sucessfully ignored it for the last decades, but I’m m afraid it no longer is possible. So far I did what was expected of me but I fear, I did never what I wanted. So here I am on the same journey as you.
Crazy how we can shut off that voice that tells us what we truly want isn’t it. Here’s to hoping you’re chasing what really matters to you and hoping you succeed all the way! 🫶🏻
Hi Tom! Nice shooting and editing and… I perfectly understand what you are searching for and where you you must go to find it!! Pyrenees are on my bucket list too!! Bye 👋
Hi dude!! I lived in les Pyrénées and im a wildlife photographer... Im buying a discovery 2 this mounth so I had to sub your channel and thank you for your beautiful videos 😉 made me sooo excited about the futur adventures ill live soon! Greetings from france.
This video is beautiful mate! Just bought a disco 2 and planning a Europe trip and this sort of stuff motivates me to make sure I do it. Your set up is insane and the editing on this video is brilliant, the fact your doing it with meaning just makes it all the better 🤙 Also that lake scene with the panned shots at 10:50 ish was unreal
That’s a wonderful video, really enjoyed watching that mate. I’m planning a trip to Europe and would like to do this one, not 100% sure when yet but I’m not getting any younger so I need to get on with it. How do I find your routes on Wikiloc?
@@overlanddiscovery365 Thanks a lot for the link, I’m going to look into using wikiloc a bit more. I’ve just got to get my Subaru up to spec with some all terrains and I’ll be off exploring. I’ve subbed by the way 👍
Love the little piece of humility at the very end. Makes it all come together. Epic. Can we start looking back at 95 though Tom. I reckon I can drive further down the road than 75. Lovely footage and journey. How long did it take you?
Thanks mate i appreciate the love! Ahah I think 95 is a good time to start looking back ;) I got asked the other day why I said 75 and honestly it was the first number that came to mind ahah. The journey took about 7 weeks in total however this stage crossing the pyrenees was approximately 14 days :)
Hey Tom, quick question, I noticed after you waded through a puddle the drone took a sudden jump in yaw in one of the shots. Mine does this from time to time. DJI Mavic 2 zoom. Just wondering if you’ve any idea on cause of this. .
Ah yeah so that happened in this case cause the battery was super low and it was like I’m landing now ahah. It does sometime occur when the tracking looses itself briefly and then it regathers but it shouldn’t happen otherwise
you are living my dreamlife. i´m stuck in A 9to5 to pay the bills.. how can u affort that life? really wanna go out and give myself that time too.. Best wishes and greets from Germany
I’m working a 9-5 too my dude I quit my job to do this trip. Wish I was doing this full time believe me. Maybe it’s on the cards one day. Get out and give yourself the time when you can it’s worth the adventure ❤️
Hi Tom, amazing effort you put into your video. Share your view on life and did a similiar adventure lately on corsica last year. You find this on my channel. Keep on doing what you are doing! Subscibed and wait for the next part.... and i know what editing means in terms of time and patience😂 cheers from Germany Jörg

Good morning. I also don't know 🤷🏻♂️
I loved the video man, but i had one quick question, like how do you pick your route?
I scouted a lot of tracks ahead of time but sometimes just picked as I went ahah I used Wikiloc for trails
Did u track your rout?
Yes I did you can find it on Wikiloc linked through my insta profile 😘
