If you want to remove the larva, why not leave the heat matt on to aid in their collection? Global warming is responsible for many species to survive in areas they could not before. Same goes for hardiness zones for plants. Enjoy you videos, Stay Well !!!
Definitely freezing my food waste has helped reduce other critters in my vermicompost
Yes it certainly does!
Great company here. I just dealt with their customer service and they are great also. I would highly recommend getting the urban worm bag!!
Thanks so much Lucas!
Add some insulation foam board insulation under the heat mat and around the bin.
I use fermented insected frass on my herb garden. Stank in stank out
Over the summer I have found a few of those myself and couldn’t understand how they got in but now I understand from what you said.
They can be quite the little hitchhikers!
Would adding moistened bedding only be a way to support worms and still discourage larvae?
Not sure....I don't think that would have an effect either way on the larvae
Hello, I have a question about a mosquito, the name is Sciara Analis. Is it harmful to our worms?
Is fras not good for the garden?
Frass is good....it's just not similar to worm castings.
Try putting a hot dog or bratwurst in the bin. The worms didn’t like it but the soldier fly larvae swarmed it. Might help you manually remove them.
Interesting! I like that idea.
Hey there, do you mind if I mention your UA-cam handle in a future video? Gonna mention this tip.
Please let me know!
@@UrbanWormCompany I would be honored if you did. Yes!!
