Y's 3: Wanderer's from Y's is Y's 3. I mean it's literally called Y's 3 and it was the third game developed. Since you play as the same character every time and everything resets I don't think there really is an actual timeline. I think each game exists in its own universe, honestly.
@@ShootyBazooky Nothing resets, each game is based on the journals Adol wrote during his adventures. The current order (not counting Origin since it’s 700 years before the first game) is 1, 2, 10, 4, 3, 5, 8, 6, 7 and 9.
Been playing the demo and it's great. I am playing on the second hardest mode and it is pretty damn difficult as well so be prepared if you plan to go that route as you need to be precise with a lot of movement, duo and especially blocking skills with an emphasis on watching your own stagger meter. There is a lot to learn and perfect in this game which differs greatly from previous Ys titles. Bottom line, every Falcom game is good so you really cannot go wrong with this. It's really fun. Kind of a mix between Zelda, previous Ys titles, AC Blackflag and Cold Steel. This Ys title is much more mystical than previous titles. Probably even more so than Dana in terms of mythology and such. I find that type of lore and stuff awesome so if you like Norse mythos and are a real world history buff, you will seriously like this. Also, the map is massive so there will be a TON of exploration. Also if you thought Laxia had a power ass, you have seen nothing yet. Karja wrote the book on it.
In defense of the combat, its still the first iteration of it. Comparing it to the 3rd and 4th iteration of the party combat from ys 8/9 is always gonna leave you wanting. Like Compare it to Ys 7s combat (the first iteration of party combat, where you couldnt jump/flash move, and flash guarding wasnt even explained in the game) and see if it's better or not.
Metaphor too Persona looking for me, don't care for that particular anime style. Plus, it's turn base. YS anime aesthetic is more appealing to me. It aligned more with the Tales and its action combat. But respect those who love those type of games.
This demo made me realize that there is a whole francise. Gonna get 8 when it gets on sale and gonna get 10 probably when released (if it gets a regional price)
I'm definitely going to pick this up. I just finished silent hill 2 remake and I tried to play trails through daybreak but there's just sooooooooo much dialogue... I love the combat system but I just cant all the constant talking, I dont want to walk around talking to people for 2 hours.. but I've liked ys since ys 8, there's still alot of dialogue but it's maybe a quarter as much as trails or persona.. I really wish there was a game with trails through daybreak combat but with a quarter of the dialogue
@scottfrenz fucking amazing. I played most of the big releases this year and I'd give silent hill 2 remake game of the year.. the only other game this year on its level is space marine 2. But seriously, it's amazing
Mine was the opposite, as soon as i saw the demo for this i halted my Metaphor Playthrough and instantly started up the Ys X Nprdic demo lol. Either way rpg fans are eating good this month
Watched a few previews & reviews hoping to see something that will interest me but the game is looking so bland, I'll pick it up anyway. Cat Quest 3 ship battles seem like they're more fun.
Love falcom games and ys 8 is one of my favourite game ever. I m playing the demo of ys Nordic and seems good but i prefer the party, flash guard and flash moves (combat system is really good anyway) .... And there are too much dialogues for an action rpg. I don't care graphic if gameplay is good but this game have too simple models on background and enemies ... I expected something more to be honest. It s not much better than ys 8 or 9...i ll wait sale to buy it.
@@pandaman1331 no... There is block and you can do a critic hit if you do a parry (block at right moment). Then there is a dash that make you avoid some attack. Today i finished the demo and last part was really good. At the beginning there are too much dialogues but at chapter 3 it become really good. Can't wait to play it. Maybe I expected something more from graphic and ost but gameplay is what really matter. Demo is about 3/4 hours and was at 7% of the map...the exploration will be really good! Level design is great.
@@ciuffoarancione8929 I`m not expecting much from graphics anway. It`s an Ys game. But the Soundtracks are usually one point. But yeah, hope the gameplay is as good as always. I`m kind of disappointed that flash guard and flash move are gone. But I don`t think I desperately need them to have a lot of fun. And to be honest, these moves were utterly broken and made the games too easy anway.
@@ciuffoarancione8929 As it should be. I love flash guard and flash move but fact is, I cleared Ys 9 and Memories of Celceta on hard difficulty without ever getting close to dying because of it. Especially Flash Guard is utterly broken. It`s still an RPG, which means you still have healing items. Even without Flash Guard it shouldn`t be too difficult. But from hard+ it should be a challenge.
I remember when I did beat the final boss of Ys I yeeaars ago, in the middle of the night, almost getting my ass whooped because I woke everyone up cause of a scream xD
I prefer jrpgs that have more party members so this game might not be for me. I also have some history with action jrpgs which I find to be spammy and shallow in depth. Metaphor: Refantazio has my full attention for now.
Thanks for the review! It looks to me boring as hell. The characters are as always as generic as possible. The gameplay looks uninteresting and so does the exploration. I finished Ys 8 and it was ok even if so-so. I just finished Yakuza: infinite health (what a game!) and Metpahor Refantazio is out. No way I can play Ys 10. I would even instead replay Phantasy star 1 from the 1980's, more appealing to me than this.
Im not sure i like how their ripping off european culture. Seems hypocritical with Japanese response to Assassins Creed. But I love the voice acting and character design
It was developed as a Switch title first. YS games have always had meh graphics too but the visuals have never been the point. Skip it if you don't like it.
0:38 Memories of Celceta is actually the 4th game. Ys 10 is the 3rd game timeline wise, but the actual “Ys 3” is called Oath in Felghana.
Timeline wise MOC would be 5th and Ys 10 would be 4th. unless your excluding Ys Origin since it doesn't have Aldo in it
Yeah, I was going off of the games that feature Adol lol
@OrichalkosTV I mean if you consider zero entries (Ys Origin is Ys 0, afterall) a part of the numbering, then yeah.

This games biggest mistake is releasing some time as metaphor
I find it’s better 🤷♂️
Incorrect.
Still wouldn't do that much better if it released some other time i think. It's niche
In a few months people will realize that this is the better game. Metaphor is a reskin, nothing more, nothing less.
Metaphor was such a disappointment. Complete snoozefest. This is coming from a lifelong persona fan.

The way the demo ends is fucked up. How you gonna blue ball me like that lmao
I only played the demo so far but 7 seems a little bit low. After the demo, I regretted buying Metaphor...
Why
Good thing with this game. Is there is actually more gameplay than cutscenes.
Hey, get this you can play more than one game

Great review of Ys X Nordics. Looks fun though sad to hear its not quite as good as the Lacrimosa of Dana.
Still excited to play it next week.
Shame this is releasing the same time as big daddy Metaphor Refantazio.
Not for me! (A switch player)

It's a Switch lead development and switch is on par with the ps3, so...
