2020 Update: these blinds have changed slightly, which you can find out how they now work here: thecarpentersdaughter.co.uk/reviews/fitting-perfect-fit-conservatory-blinds/
You really kept your ducks in a row on this one! You measured multiple time, you searched out potential problems and thought creatively with the hand wash and the clips. As always, you are clear and totally effective! YOU ROCK!
Brilliant ! I used the very same ones for our fully glazed upvc back door , get the measurements right and they are easy peasy to fit, look great and don't get in the way of opening the door .
I've been looking into getting something like these but I'm worried about the measuring. Would they still fit if my measurements are out by 2mm or so? My metal measuring tape is really stiff & won't go into the corner when i try to read it
Bought these for my French doors, always recommend these blinds to my customers once fitted new windows or doors, great for price and also idea for doors as no flapping when open
Good idea never seen them before , so I take it the mounting clips are held in by the rubber seal on your windows , hope they don't interfere with the window and steam up after a bit . They prob won't 😉👍👍
The mounting clips fit between the slim gap between the window trim and the glass :) I don't think they'll do any damage, but not seen what's directly behind the window trim.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK ah yes , see my windows have the rubbers so would be no good that's what I was getting at cos on those type of sealed units the thermal break in the glass would prob go hence steam up 😉
Can you see the frame from the outside? I have windows that are white on the inside and anthracite on the outside and can't decide which to get. White might look bad from outside if you can see it. Anthracite might not look good against the white window on the inside (although it would match other items in here)
You might be best buying a sample kit which has a clip and piece of the frame to test on your windows. If you search narrowboat blinds on my channel, I show it that video, which I bought with a different company as had to source it elsewhere in brown.
Im gonna sound really dumb but if my windows have the soft rubber outside and more like plastic, black trim inside (doesn't bend when pushed with a nail), does it mean I won't be able to install them?
Look great, never seen that kind before, the closest I’ve seen is the ones built into the double glazing sandwiched between the glass. Great idea and very neat.
I found this to be a beautiful option that we in the USA unfortunately are unavailable to take advantage of. I did go to their website because I was looking for something similar. I have been unable to find such a complete enclosed set up. Thank you for sharing! I sure hope they decide to open worldwide. What an awesome bit of Kit indeed!
Hi Vikkie, love your videos! How much of your glazed area would you say you lose in fitting these type of blinds? I'm looking at them for our conservatory but I'm worried that the narrow windows at the top will end up being tiny slits.
Hi is blinds to go or Hilary blinds best place to buy these Will this cause any damage to my pvc window are they easy to take off put back on Are they any good in bedrooms and lounge windows what’s the reasons ? I have one piece and two and three piece outward openings with mixture of fixed and opener windows
enjoyed the video but.. when the top window frame is inplace I would have a problem with the air vent at the top of my window which I think would not operate when the perfect fit frame is in place.. could you give me any idea about this as the video's don't show this .. thankyou & hope to hear from you .. Paul
Great video given me an idea for my caravan door window the only one that's not got a blind. It's a long and narrow window I think these will work BUT where do I find them on the web site ? ( after all I'm a man can't find anything ) Help required
When we were in a motorhome the other weekend, it had one of these types of perfect fit blinds if it helps: www.directblinds.co.uk/perfect-fit-pleated-blinds/ Or there's roller blind ones: www.directblinds.co.uk/perfect-fit-roller-blinds/genesis-white/ However, these are the ones we picked: bit.ly/2EjrBK0
I'm having a bit of trouble working out whether I can fit these to my windows: even with the photos, I'm not sure, because my windows look like some of the ones given as examples of ones that should work, but I don't think I can get a clip in between the seal and the window without irreparably damaging it. I don't suppose I could ask for a few closer-up photos of the seal and what it has to look like to work?
If only this was answered. Maybe she’s unsure. Many modern windows don’t have a neo bead and more a sealed rubber seal built into the bead. The ones on hers are neo bead which has plenty of play. The built in more sturdy rubber can still work but is harder to break through. The blog photos are useless in telling anyone anything around it can or can’t be done. Perfect blind companies don’t warn anyone around this so my guess is it works for all UPVC windows lol.
They look great Vikkie 👌 I've never seen this style before and am in need of something to upgrade our lounge. Think I will definitely be looking into these!
How do you slot the clips into the window frame? There is a rubber sealer around perimeter of the window frame and the metal clips do not slot into this area. Please help.
If it's just a black seal, I don't think they work with your windows. I have some others in the house which aren't suitable. If you read my blogpost link, there's a photo of which ones will and wont work. Good luck!
These would have been ideal for me but as you pointed out, they won't work on my type of windows. What a shame! Yours look great though, helpful video as always. Thanks. 👍
I know :( Our small box room on the front of the house is exactly the same and currently has a vertical blind which doesn't match at all from the outside. Will have to fit a regular venetian blind there instead. MUCH cheaper than changing the window 😂
Brilliant video from you again, just one thing. How do the retaining clips fit to the existing window? Do they slide between the glazing trim and frame? Great video, thanks, vinny. :-)
A very clear tutorial, Vikkie and the blinds do look almost... Perfect. ;-) I think you also did well filming this, with the challenge of white balance and daylight versus interior.
Thank you so much, Olly. That's exactly why the thumbnail of this picture is REALLY grainy 😂 After nearly 30 attempts, I had to give up and go with this one
I never even new these existed!! Fantastic video as per usual 👍🏼 Did the one that went on to the opening window fit any differently or just the same? Thanks 😉
Thanks! They start from £36. Although something that surprised me is that the smaller sections were only a few pound cheaper, so the price must be in the frame in my opinion.
He waggled his tail towards the end while the room was dark, but that's all that I got on him (not his body) and it looked a bit dodgy so cropped it out 😂
Think you need look at latest comments from latest customers of swift direct blinds.......not sure they should be recommended anymore. My delivery has been let down and looking at latest comments it appears the norm.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK see the comments in the latest reviews. My order did finally turn up several days late, with instructions which were too small and faint to read, with the correct measurements on the sticker, but it’s at least 5 mm too wide so the blind won’t function.
Depending how much you use your dining table, you could lay a sheet of plywood over the top with some antislip matting inbetween to protect it, obviously if you use the dining table daily then it's not the best idea, but if you use it more for DIY projects it would protect the surface against any mishaps then just lift it off when you want to use the dining table.
Your right...I did hate it...I mean...'love it' lol Good work though. I once ended up stuck inbetween one like some kind of cartoon. Flailing and swearing all over the living room
2020 Update: these blinds have changed slightly, which you can find out how they now work here: thecarpentersdaughter.co.uk/reviews/fitting-perfect-fit-conservatory-blinds/
Can you put the blinds on PVC windows that have a trickle vent at the top?
You really kept your ducks in a row on this one! You measured multiple time, you searched out potential problems and thought creatively with the hand wash and the clips. As always, you are clear and totally effective! YOU ROCK!
Thanks :) I really didn't want to get mixed up with all the measurements... there would have been swear words, so saved myself the stress lol
Her genuine suprise when it worked !!! Awn loved it!!
Brilliant ! I used the very same ones for our fully glazed upvc back door , get the measurements right and they are easy peasy to fit, look great and don't get in the way of opening the door .
Glad you think they're great too :D I'd have them all over the house if I could 😄
That's a very clever design, I don't know how I never saw them before. Great video!
There was also one in the motorhome we borrowed the other weekend, so maybe the idea came from that originally.
They look amazing!! Windows open and blinds down - no broken blinds!! Love them - great product 🌲🦊🌲👍
Thanks Claire :) I LOVE how easy they are and if I remove them, they leave no trace behind :D
I've been looking into getting something like these but I'm worried about the measuring. Would they still fit if my measurements are out by 2mm or so? My metal measuring tape is really stiff & won't go into the corner when i try to read it

They are bliss to open the windows :) Completely agree!

No such thing as a dumb question. Please send me a pic on my Instagram @thecarpenters_daughter
Will take a picture tomorrow during day light. Thank you. X
These look very nice. Does clipping into the trim affect the insulation properties of the double glazing at all?
Look great, never seen that kind before, the closest I’ve seen is the ones built into the double glazing sandwiched between the glass. Great idea and very neat.
Thanks! A double glazing company said that was an option too, but apparently they're really expensive so never even got a quote.
Another great video, seen most of them now. May be Direct line could mark the box the instructions are in.

I have been unable to find such a complete enclosed set up. Thank you for sharing! I sure hope they decide to open worldwide. What an awesome bit of Kit indeed!
You never know - things could change the more these are fitted here in the UK :)
Hi Mama Bear - looks like you can find these in the USA now. www.louvolite.ca/ Really hope this helps!
Hi Vikkie, love your videos! How much of your glazed area would you say you lose in fitting these type of blinds? I'm looking at them for our conservatory but I'm worried that the narrow windows at the top will end up being tiny slits.
Great video, can these be used on uPVC windows where the handle to open the window is in the middle of the window?

Thank you for another excellent video. Food for thought for our front windows, I think.....
Thanks :) They're a great invention 😀
They look so good! You think you could make a video on how you ordered these fitted blinds?
fantastic designed blinds and another brilliant informative video. I will have to buy some now. many thanks, Vikkie.
Glad you found it useful :) They're a great design 😀

How much clearance do you need from edge of any handles to glass as in a French door for instance
Never seen them before but I will be checking them out.
They're very cool :)

(I've seen the pictures in the blog post but they don't show enough detail of the seal itself to clear up the issue.)

Wow that really changed the look... excellent 👌👌👌
Thanks 😀

Glad it helped :)
They look really smart. Will have to make a note of that company.
Great job!
Thanks Paul- absolutely love them! Shame all the downstairs windows don't have the same glazing. Would prefer these to a net and vertical blinds.

Thanks 😀 Yes, that's exactly how they work 😊
Sorry - ignore that my food blog username just showed up - there's a bug in the UA-cam creator app 😑
They look great, and so easy, by the looks of it. A great find! 😀
Thanks Geoffrey - SO easy 😄
Can you use than conservatory roofs

Never knew they made those. Pretty clever.
It impressed us as well 😁
Who do you prefer Makemyblinds or blinds2go or something else?
Never used makemyblinds, so couldn't comment.
Great Design! Never seen those before
😀
Looks great and very well explained well done Vikkie
Thanks so much! Hopefully it will intimidate people less if they do decide they want Perfect Fit blinds :)
I have been following your instructions but still can’t get it right. So frustrating been at it all day.
I never even new these existed!! Fantastic video as per usual 👍🏼

Thanks 😁 They fit exactly the same as the others 😀
Could please show How to take it out to clean i try but could able to do. Thankx.
Watch the end of this 😊 ua-cam.com/video/Di3E_3TK-l4/v-deo.html
I can only put the corners on one side of the frame.
I wish I could see it!! Does my step by blog help?

they look cool, never seen that sort of design before
We were surprised when we saw them for the first time too 😀
I’m really having problems putting the frame together!
What's happening?
Thank you so much
I m blinds designer too but U done a nice job keep it up and good luck 👍
Thanks so much 👍
Neat idea and they look terrific.
Thanks! I think so too! :)
Great Video...👍......Very nice blinds.
Thanks! They're such a great invention!

Great job vikkie sure looks nice
Thanks Warren. They're usually classified as conservatory blinds, but I think they look great in a room too :)
can someone help me fit these?
Looks great.
Thanks! :D
Great job, well done.
Thanks :)

Thanks for the tip. I might just do that! It's now in the living room as a desk, but may move it back 😀
Dam these are expensive £170 just for my kids room 🤣
Lol... tell me about it. I still keep going back to them though! Bought 4 lots for different spaces now.
Is the Carpenter's Daughter single? (serious question)
Your right...I did hate it...I mean...'love it' lol
Good work though. I once ended up stuck inbetween one like some kind of cartoon. Flailing and swearing all over the living room
Anyway....The second blind went up undamaged
oh no!!! lol... well I can't imagine getting in a pickle with these 😂
Wow that's an ugly dormer is that on front elevation?
🙈 It's been a blessing in disguise as we may not have been able to find house at the right price. I think it looks much better now lol
