Hallo Sven, auf wieviele Etappen habt ihr die Tour aufgeteilt, bzw. wieviele KM? Und habt ihr euch die Sights vorher herausgesucht, oder das mitgenommen was euch per Zufall auf dem Weg begegnet ist?
Wir hatten ein Zeitfenster von 18 Tagen und wollten mind. einen Tag Pause machen. Tatsächlich haben wir 16 Fahrtage gebraucht, hatten auf Rügen also noch einen freien Tag. Pro Tag im Schnitt also gute hundert km. Dabei sind ca. 2-3 Tage auf die Filmerei zurückzuführen und wir sind, aus diversen Gründen ca. 120 km mehr als geplant gefahren. Groß geplant hatten wir nichts, einfach drauf los geradelt und geguckt wo wir vorbeikommen und abends landen. Wichtig: Auf der Schwäbischen Alb kommt man sehr langsam vorran. Davon nicht runterziehen lassen, man holt alles später wieder auf.

Ich habe selbst einen 1200km trip von der unteren Mitte Deutschlands erst nach Fehmarn, dann nach Kappeln gemacht, dabei bin ich 100-150km am Tag gefahren und habe kaum etwas besichtigen können. Der Weg ist zwar das Ziel, aber ich bin sehr verwundert, wie ihr das so super cinematisch abdrehen konntet. Es wirkt so als hättet ihr euch mehr Zeit genommen.

This is one of the coolest feedbacks, we could receive! Have fun and enjoy the trip! A tip: the Swabian Alb right after the first days was the hardest part for us. Don't get frustrated there, if you're making less miles than expected. You will catch up later on!

We did indeed see some areas, that we had no clue about how beautiful they are. We liked the Fichtelmountains and Ore Mountains the most. You shouldn't worry too much about not filming your previous trips. It let's you enjoy the moment much more. After this film, we need to do some touring without camera aswell.
Sehr schönes Werk - RESPEKT! Wenn ich das richtig gelesen habe, habt ihr ca. 4-5kg Kameraequipment dabei gehabt. Die lassen sich auch erstmal schleppen. Aber der Aufwand hat sich gelohnt, würde ich behaupten.
Dankeschön! Das kommt schon ungefähr hin. Wir hatten alles, außer dem Stativ, in unseren 10L Rucksäcken. Beim Bikepacking ist es natürlich gar nicht so einfach, so viel Kram mitzunehmen, aber wir haben unser Filmequipment genau auf solche Projekte ausgelegt - Mirrorless, leichtes Stativ, die kleine Mavic. Dazu kaum mehr als notwendig, das absolute Minimum an Klamotten, Tarp statt Zelt, winzige Schlafausrüstung, so hat es dann geklappt.
Nice. Hat jemand zufällig damals die GPX-Daten heruntergeladen? Letzten sommer konnte man noch auf die strecke zugreifen. jetzt ist die Seite offline würde selbst gerne die selbe strecke fahren.
Very nice video. I tried biking in Germany and it's a really beautiful country. Extremely clean and tidy. The only problem is that everything is somebody's property. There is almost no chance going to some lake and just swim and see no houses and no people. There are always people and there are always some properties. If there are no properties it means that it is probably strictly forbidden to be there anyway. If you wan't a more authentic adventure go east. Poland, Czech Republic and so on.
I can't deny that. Of course it's not like there is no single place, that is "wild", but in general, Germany is simply really populated, making it hard to get away from civilization. I am definetly going to explore eastern Europe, as there is so much less people over there, as you said.
You should try Transylvania in Romania. The country is cheap and safe. If you have questions you can ask transylvaniacycling.ro/ for more details. You will like this trip if you are looking for wildlife.
In Finland there is legislation called "Everyman's right" that gives everyone rights to enjoy outdoors regardless if they are someone's property. It basically restricts that you cannot camp next to anyone's house and you cannot spoil the nature, but otherwise you can enjoy it www.ym.fi/en-US/Latest_news/Publications/Brochures/Everymans_right(4484)

Hallo ihr Beiden, ich habe euer Video richtig genossen - sehr gut gemacht und hebt sich wirklich positiv ab. Vor knapp 60 Jahren habe ich auch sehr weite Touren mit geringsten Mitteln unternommen. Das Rad war ein Querfeldeinrad mit dem ich im Winter auch Querfeldein Rennen fuhr( Mountainbikes gab es noch lange nicht). Wir machten auch kein Baikpäkink, sondern einfach Radtouren mit einem Rucksack. Da ich weiß, wie aufwendig es ist, einen solchen Film zu erstellen (anhalten, absteigen, Perspektive suchen/ Equipment aufbauen und einstellen/ mit dem Rad wieder zurück/ nochmals vorbei usw.). Das hätte mir damals sicherlich viel von meinem Spaß genommen. Aber wenn sich niemand solche Mühen macht wie ihr, wer sollte dann solch einen tollen Film erstellen? Ach ja - unternehmt noch noch viele, viele kleine und große Abenteuer! Der Moment, wo Gelenke, Muskeln oder was auch immer nicht mehr mitmachen kommt schneller als man denkt. Und dann kann man genau von solchen Erlebnissen zehren. Danke
