    I live in Fort Worth Texas now but I'm from Louisiana and my family is Cajun and we keep up with all the French traditions and the kings cakes are always fun! We celebrate Mardi gras and that's coming up soon and we have and share our kings cakes at that time. Congratulations on your win! 🎉

    The cleaned facade will be lovely. If you are talking about the iron/fret work repainted in white, consider a color or darker neutral ( black, bronze or champagne). The artistic and architectural details popped. . I don’t recall where I saw this but the results looked great. Maybe play in photo shop?
    Cheers, Ms Zura from Kansas

    Have you checked out Restoring the Dream? They cleaned their own exterior. The invested in scaffolding and it came out amazing. I don t know if you have reached out to other Chateau owners but they might have helpful ideas for you. I hope the house cleaner finishes your home soon. Best to you all.

    What about checking the guttering and seeing if the level is perfect? What about getting more down pipes, so the rainwater/guttering can cope better in order to avoid the black mould. Just a thought. It is hard work, and certainly bank account plundering, but it needs to be done. I wish you two well.

    • @queensescape
      @queensescape  11 місяців тому +1

      The gutters are good. It’s below windows where there is no butters and other places where we have problems. We had the gutter guys here recently to replace some gutter high up. They did a good job. Maybe more down pipes. Will have to ask them.

    Lovely video, all the galettes look delicious. Just a friendly thought. It may be worth asking any future vendors, if they can provide recent references for work completed, (vs their website) where you can actually view yourself in person. A friendly vendor /subcontractor tip. I learned this the hard way. When subcontractors came for a quote. I started to notice their hands. You can tell a person who devotes time to their craft and puts in a hard days work. Additionally, anytime a vendor appears to spend money on embroidered jackets, that is a no go for me, from the beginning. Plus start noticing shoes! Also, have you given any consideration to buying a scissor lift and or your own scaffolding? It seems that it could assist you with future renovations, and work you take on by yourself. In the longevity, it may be a wise investment when your budget permits.

    My neighbors mailbox was wipped out, then the end of their chain lake fence, as well as the fence bar. Then they ran over ours and broke it to pieces, even bent a metal T post at the bottom. Probably drunk driver found several pieces of cart parts around.

    And some of the black marks are not mold, but a side effect of atmospheric pollution causing an acidic reaction in limestone and lime mortars. The good. News is since the 1990's the majority of that problem has diminished from environmental laws on factory emission levels, and the withdrawal of leaded gasoline in cars.

    • @queensescape

    Yes i know immediately if someone is trying me out with pricing. When I start breaking a price down ie. what is hourly rate, how long etc, they start backing down. I get the same stuff on my house. It was done, and as they had a guarantee and the mould was still there, I made a complaint. Three squirts] from one bottle was supposed to clean everything, which of course takes TIME. I know all the key words. Yours is going to need actual physical scrubbing. It is black mould which I have in my lungs at the moment and is in my head and I’m in hospital. Take my advice, mask up EVERYWHERE. All they use is chorine and charge the earth. The bad bits need SCRUBBING.
