Thank you for understanding the value of Lydell Mitchell. The problem was in the 70s, the only stat people cared about for RBs was rushing yards... and from 75-77, Lydell was usually 3rd in the AFC in rushing behind OJ and Franco. But looking at his pass catching... he lead the League TWICE!! I met Lydell in 2010 and I told him that he was Marshall Faulk 20 years beforehand... in the 90s or later he would have enjoyed much greater appreciation.

Right - it is completely unnecessary. It occurred over a decade after OJ was involved with football in any way. I lived in LA when it happened - in fact, OJ's Bronco rode past my house during the chase. It has nothing to do with what he did on or off the field in the 70s. True analysts understand this and, at the very least, forgo making proclamations on OJ's innocence when talking football. Real football guys just dont want to hear that shit. People who want race, identity politics, and crime live for the OJ trial. People who want to escape those fucked up components of our society look to sports. This is why the backlash against that woke NFL race bullsht that Kapernick sparked was so high.

Van Eeghan currently ranks at #19 due to a low number of TDs (28 compared to top 10 average of almost 46) and a lower rushing total (4919 compared to top 10 average of 6851). The touchdowns alone would’ve put him up to #10. Thanks for watching!

Excluding Dorsett negates your ability to judge football players. Over 12,000 career rushing yards and went to the Super Bowl twice. Winning in 77 over Denver and losing to Pittsburgh in 78.

Dorsett only played 3 seasons during the 70s which is the time frame we’re judging here. He did run for 3000 yards and 25 TDs which is great for 3 years, but they don’t hold up to other players that played 7, 8, 9 or all 10 years during the 70s. Thanks for watching!
