God has prepared specific opportunities for us to step into, but words and wounds can bury our potential and keep us from realizing them.
We exist to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

I understand your response and don't disagree. But it's sad THIS is considered bold.

    14:07 John 8:44
17:02 "You can't Spiritually bypass sorrow and pain. You can't go around it, you gotta go through it. .The Good News is Jesus will walk with you."

19:35 "It is you Learning to Lament rather than bypass your pain with Holy Ghost language." Amen. It's why it can be discouraging when trying to share such pain with friends or other christians and they tell you, "don't speak that over yourself".

This is a good reminder that we will have to endure suffering when it comes, but God can walk with us through it if we let Him

This sermon not only allows us to uncover things about ourselves but allows us to apply a life changing experience where we are not looking to be seen by man but by God & to know we are created by the most holy and righteous.

I started speaking in tongues and crying at 42:25-35. I keep thinking God is punishing me, but I have to think through a lens of His love. God permits hard times for our good. Romans 8:28.

He says, "When Jesus says to deny yourself, to take up your cross and follow Him, He's talking about those parts that are not you..." the Bible seems to say those parts ARE us. Like, we ARE that way. It seems like this line of thinking that Matt is preaching, might lead us to start believing we are good people deep down, rather than wicked sinners in need of mercy. This is the same type of stuff I got from therapy, and stuff I can't find justification for in scripture, and why I left therapy. It leads me to think "All of my sin is the fault of other people against me. I'm inherantly a good person, I've just made mistakes because of other peoples sin." I can't find this line of thinking or justification in scripture, but it sure makes me feel good. I also can't seem to find this definition of "stronghold" in scripture. I'm affraid that this line of thinking is secular psychotherapy with Jesus' name slapped on it.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I've been grappling with this for a long long time and am tired of back and forth. I'd love to blame my sin on my dad, but the Bible doesn't seem to allow me to do that. As much as I appreciate Matt's preaching, I want to believe what scripture teaches over man. I'm really struggling with this. Psychotherapy seems anti-biblical, and blaming all of our problems on past traumas and hardships seems to come from Sigmund Freud, who was materialistic and I think against Christianity.
Please understand that I'm not trying to be a stumbling block. I'm really struggling through this. I have a really hard time loving, repenting, feeling Godly sorrow, etc. This video makes me feel good about myself, but some say teachings like this have demonic, psychoanalytic influences, but others say that the strict, "I'm a worm worthy of destruction" is demonic, or at least legalistic and like the pharisees, which is how I feel I am. I have no idea, but I'm struggling.
Please help me understand why Matt's teaching on this is biblical and trustworthy. I want to be a good Berean!!

I know you guys claim to be believers, but no one who loves God and others would allow this playlist to remain in reverse order so that it won't play one after another. 🤣🤣
