Great video! All great breweries, though there are more to try. If I had a day in Bamberg, my top 5 bucket list would be: 1. Mahrs Bräu (the OG brewery of the family of Ambros Mahr, the proprietor of Ambräusianum - quintessential Bamberger Bier, and IMO miles better than Ambräusianum) 2. Greifenklau (some of the best beer in Bamberg IMO) 3. Fässla (very good traditional beers; popular among locals and students in the town) 4. Spezial (best Rauchbier) 5. Schlenkerla (it’s a classic and worth trying; they won’t be everyone’s cup of tea though. I really like their Helles, which has a tinge of smoke without being overpowering.) Can’t wait to get back to Bamberg soon. :)
Thanks for watching and for all the brewery tips! We were only there a few days, so we couldn't get to every brewery. Now, it looks like we have a list of new ones to try! We can't wait to get back to Bamberg either!
Yes! Schlenkerla was fantastic, but make sure to check out the other ones too! When you do get back, let us know what you think, and if you find any others worth visiting!
Good stuff! Schlenkerla Rauchbeer is certainly available in the US, but it's too expensive here. I've been homebrewing this beer style for a while now, and have been pretty happy with the results that I'm getting. I use about 90% smoked malt, 10% light Munich malt and maybe 2 oz of Carafa II for coloring. One month of fermenting at 49 degrees and then a few months of lagering at 28-30 degrees, and I get a pretty respectable Rauchbeer. Not too many homebrewers make this style, but I'm one of them.
tell the people of India that. 40% of India is vegetarian. roughly 600 million people. vegetarian is definitely not for me, but saying it is unhealthy is just ridiculous.
Love it! So glad we did the beer trail. :D
Thank you!! The Beer Trail was definitely worth it!
Finally a great video thanks guys
Thank you! We're happy you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your recommendation to watch this ready for our River Cruise. Will be trying out some of the beer and food!!
You're very welcome!! Enjoy your River Cruise!!

I went to Schlenkerla last year and loved the whole experience - now I need to return to see the other places on the beer trail

That's so cool that you've been homebrewing this style as not many people do it! Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching and commenting!
Great video… thanks
Thank you!
I have been to the Schlaenkele Rauchbeer Restaurant.lts good
It was so delicious and such a fantastic atmosphere!
Nice video
Thank you!!
Bro Ambräusianum!!!!! Simply the worst beer of the 350+ biers in Franconia... hide that bier.
the rest is amazing... keep up the great work.
Thanks!😂 It certainly wasn't our favorite beer of the bunch, but we tried it since it was right next to Schlenkerla.
People often say: the beer tastes like smoked ham. Correct would be: the ham tastes like smoke. It sounds weired but there's nothing wrong about it.
It does sound a bit odd, but it makes sense! Thanks for watching!
You have to drink a smoked beer, no question about it...but I didn't manage more than one.. it's no normal beer...only for tourists...🤣🤣🤣
The smoked beer definitely isn't your typical beer, but it's absolutely worth trying!
I tried some bier kaese (beer cheese) in Germany and one of them smelled like a rotting corpse
😂😂😂 maybe you just had some bad beer cheese. Thanks for watching!
Bamberg is a really nice City
Food perfect
Beer perfect
Ok Smoked beer.. absolut no Go
🤢
The smoked beer was good to try, but we couldn't keep drinking it all day.
@@MYTravelBF … no way
The normal one ( Helles or Weizen) Perfect … smooked… i am out 😉
Being a vegetarian is so unhealthy!
