It was reassuring to see an experienced soap maker like yourself try something new and get nervous! This is so me every time I make a loaf and im still using little moulds- and by little we are talking 1.5 - 3lb moulds,,😆 looks like you did amazing - thank you for sharing your journey. Absolute inspiration
Im so happy to see this feat under your belt!! I could feel your nerves through the screen but girlie you killed it! Take a deep breath and admire yourself 💕 you’re doing amazing!
Oh my word Jerika, I remember my first slab of soap and everything you were saying, I said! There are still times where I look at the amount of ingredients I have and go.. "oh wait, do i have too much here!?" and then it just works out! Well done and it looks amazing! Your should be so proud of yourself for taking that challenge on and succeeding!
Absolutely gorgeous slab mold, so proud of you! Love the colors, I’m sure it smells amazing. Ellen Ruth uses the hanger swirl, when she makes her slab mold soap. It’s way smaller then the WW slab mold. 😍🙏🏾💕💫✨✨
2 notes - get a square container to make the soap in, it'll make pouring easier and less messy. 2nd, flip the cutter and cut from the top loaf down, it'll make it much easier. Great job!
Yay! Thank you! I was wondering if people would like the chill, longer vibe but for such a big moment, it deserved some time lol! I wanted you all to experience the whole thing with me 😄
Awesome job❤I was feeling your nerves and quite frankly I appreciated you taking us on this journey, and showing the real side of soap-making. This is how I feel every time I make a small batch of soap. 😅 I am way more messier, and I am always nervous. Hoping one day I will have the skills and confidence you have. Thank you for being an inspiration in every way. Absolutely amazing and beautiful. I can almost smell the fragrance through the vibrant colors love this soap, girl you nailed it❤❤❤❤
I am so glad I saw this video and read the comments! I just ordered the 24 lb tall & skinny and the 24 lb regular molds and it’ll be my first time with the larger slab molds as well so this was so helpful to watch!! Thank you! Your soap is beautiful!
I’ve been waiting to see you use your large slab mold! This was such a fun video to watch. After Vlogmas I’ve just been biting at the bit for you to release more videos! I got used watching every day!
Happy 2024 Jerika and Cale!! This turned out beautiful. I love it!! Super satisfying. Definitely inspired!! Not ready for slabs yet, but will be referring back, once I get there. Love and Blessings 🙏🏽😊😊❤️💞🇨🇦🇯🇲🇹🇹
Yes, take your time! It’s honestly really stressful and I’m glad I have the first one under my belt. But I totally get putting it off.. it’s a big undertaking! 😅
Very nice! I work with large slab molds as well. I find it easier to pour off my smaller containers first and save the larger amount of batter in the original large container that the batter was blended in. One less container to wash as well.😊
Absolutely beautiful, Jerika. I'm a huge fan of W+W Slab moulds as well, and also of July. She's a gem. Your lovely personality reminds me quite a lot of her.
Jerika. We have the same over here with online people offering to get registration business abn and setting up websites all for money. Like there some are free if you go to the government site. I nearly used one as it looked like a government page then stopped and checked so glad I did as it wasn’t. Always good to raise these issues as often you can’t get money back glad you did. Oh goodness please don’t stand on steps to pour your batter, one slip away from hurting yourself. Yes the retired nurse in me holding my breath.
Lol! Takes me back to my first ever 25 ib batch! 😅 I have 2 counter tops to work on, 90° to each other, so I could pour into buckets on one, and grab from there to the one with the mold on it. Definitely improves the flow! 😊 PS. I do mica sprays too 😊What's a bar without a little glitter?! 🎉
Good job! You could always get more of the long molds to scale up too, i see some makers have like 16 of the long molds making their soap too, if slabs are too heavy
You did such a great job! Slab molds look challenging but you slayed it! Also glad things worked out from the scam situation. Our small business was scammed back in November so I understand the heartache it brings. Take care❤
Get yourself a food grade mixer drill attachment. It will be a game changer for mixing your oil/butter/lye blend and allow you to use deeper buckets to properly mix. I'm getting one on order ASAP!
You did awesome! My first slab pour was my high temp fluid hp and it was 3 colours. I rarely use my slab but it was def rewarding to me to conquer that too!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Don’t be scared to use a lot more mica. I do and I get the super vibrant colors (like your bath bombs) in my soap! And they still lather white and don’t stain etc. great video! I hope to try a slab mold at some point this year
I love watching your our video's. I have made soap for a while now and had my first seize. I shredded and crock pot processed two weeks in my ph 7. Can I use this soap or is this or would it be to harsh. I do get lather so I believe it saponified. Any suggestions? Thanks again.
I have seen some makers put baby powder on the wood so that the mold slides out easier. Definitely looked challenging but only time will be your friend in mastering.
I find it soooo much easier when stirring in micas and fragrance to use whisks rather than the spatulas, yoh can get nice big stainless or rubber ones, to me it covers more area inside the larger pots.Beautiful job!❤
Hi, most soap makers use smaller pitchers to pour soap in the buckets for less mess, even though it will be more dishes. Congrats on ur first slap soap, the soap came out gorgeous. ❤
I started my soap business some months ago and when I’m making it I’m always all over the place mixing colors and i don’t have a ton of space. I sometimes feel like a fraud cuz my soaping doesn’t go as neat as I see in UA-cam sometimes. It was very nice to see an uncut version. I feel more normal now lol
Congratulations, I know how nervous I was with my first slab, not quite as big as yours but it was still a huge change. I’m getting used to it, but huge congratulations on getting your lines in the right place…I still manage to mess mine up 🤣. 🥳👏💕
WOW - You did it !!!!! And, I am not surprised. I was watching on the edge of my seat 🙂 This was fun to watch and listen to. I love how much you are loving that scent. That fragrance company is one of my FAVES - my top three 🙂 Happy Friday Eve ! Say hi to Cale - he is going to get a kick out of all that you just did with 24 lbs of soap - and in one slab !
In Minnesota you have get to reregister your business make and it’s free after you do it the first time. Every year I get a bunch of “businesses” That can do it for 300 or more for me. Yes! Only go to your states website for all of that stuff or your accountant… who does it for me. You got lucky with them just giving up your money back. Thank goodness! And yes, your Employee Identification Number (EIN) should be free.
Those came out beautiful. I remember my first batch of soap was so scary because that is a lot of ingredients to mess up. Im not ready for 24 pounds but im pretty confident with 6. Hahaha.
Next time, try splitting the oil into the buckets first and mixing the lye individually. Something I've seen that im gonna try on my next batch!! Still watching. Love your videos!!
I got nervous when the mold crib was tipped on its side. I thought that slab was about to tip out and fall over. Can the blue part of the mold not be pushed and slid out the end vs tipping the exterior part up and risking the slab falling over?
Happy new year to you and cale. This is a blessing to you Jerrika. The year 2024 starts off with 24lbs of soap. Wow. Amazingly done girl. Well done. Still our 🇨🇦 queen. Lol 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The Wave looks great on High Tide…..WOW !……so beautiful and interesting looking…..the top looked like Mt. Rainier………the mind thoughts and months were well worth the final presentation…..
Well done! Thanks for sharing your experience with the slab mold. Just wondering if you've come across a good fresh linen scent that you would recommend from a Canadian supplier?

Pretty soap and thanks for sharing
I was so excited to see you finally attempt that big boy! Beautiful!
Oh ya!! 😊
Been waiting for your first slab mold video and, wow.. well done. Stunning.

Yep! New 2024 mantra 😅
Congratulations, I know how nervous I was with my first slab, not quite as big as yours but it was still a huge change. I’m getting used to it, but huge congratulations on getting your lines in the right place…I still manage to mess mine up 🤣. 🥳👏💕
Yeah the lines were a bigggg nervous point for me!

try putting a narrow piece of parchment paper on your slab cutter to help the soap slide through easier.
Fantastic!!! Great job! Those are beautiful!!!
Thanks so much!
So pretty! you did great!
I got scammed by one of those ein things too! I am happy you finally got into your slab mold! Super exciting!

Yeah, I need to invest in some new equipment for sure!!
Awesome job Jerrica ❤

I do have one question. Do you wait 4 to 6 weeks before you put them in your shop? Or do you list right away
This was such a great video! 😊❤ Those bars came out SO freaking good! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much! 😊
