    I love the fall collection. I had my very first soapmaking class. I tried your technique on the top. The teacher said, "Oh, you have definitely been watching your videos." I said, "Yes, I watch Jerika Zimmerman on UA-cam." Although I must be honest, my top was by no means in your league. I will only give my soap to my family for Christmas because my family are the only people who would even take the bars I made, lol. Thank you for always sharing. My real passion is to focus on liquid soap. I am going to try that next.

      @@HerIndulgenceGlow It was a beginner's cold process class. I loved it. My grandchildren all have sensitive skin, and their parents use liquid soap. I need to learn how to make lotions and liquid soap.

    I’m loving the colors of this soap!❤But have you considered a vanilla stabilizer to stop the color change?

      Ya, it won’t completely stop the discolouration, so I just go with it lol

    I do 5050 lye and I use pumpkin, banana, spinach, carrots n so on. I don’t have a problem. The titanium dioxide will make it move faster. I don’t use titanium dioxide and when I get white it white. I only use Snow White from MadMicas. It doesn’t mess with ur soap thickening up. I stopped using it because I found out that it messes with women’s reproductive health. I haven’t used it in 8 years or so. I have no problem getting white. I noticed someone asked about u pouring the oils into lye. It’s fine. Just like ppl tell diapers they have to watch temperatures and that is absolutely incorrect. I master batch my lye and it’s between 55-60 degrees when I use it. I’ve never had an issue and some ppl do heat transfer where u pour the hot lye over the cold hard butters and oils and melt them w the lye. U can’t get a bigger temperature difference than that. I freeze my water n coffee and teas whatever I’m using to make the lye I make ice cubes with it and I pour the lye over it and there are absolutely zero fumes. A lot of people wanna sell books and made these rules up. Ppl have been making soap for thousands of years without temperature guns. lol I feel bad that ppl spend money on all these books and they need a chemistry book to know all this is a lie. Just like ur saponification process is done within 24 so that means there is zero lie it is completed the chemical process of becoming so you can use it now if you want to use full water then it’s gonna be too soft but if you do a 50-50 discount for a 50-50 last solution you can use the soap is so lactating. There will be hard as a rock so is hard as a rock about 25 minutes after I cut it I just do 50% discount. and that’s it but the soap is absolutely 100% perfectly think the only thing you’re doing is making sure all the water is out of it so the customer gets a longer use of the bar. You do not need to let your bar sit 4 to 6 weeks. You don’t need to let them sit three weeks in fact, all the big times soap companies, they let them sit 7 to 10 days. In fact I’ve actually put my soul in dehydrator perfect dehydrated in a day because I use such a small amount of water compared to most soap makers so all of that is BS a very popular soap maker of a very popular company is telling people that they’re still one to 3% lie left in your soap for 6 to 8 weeks that is a lie that’s not true. If there was lie still left in your soap you did not calculate that correctly and you should not sell that should always do on your page and you should always do it properly. Your soap should be perfectly 24 hours after it and that’s it. It’s not that complicated that people make it sell books and products and if u wanna make book sales ull say things that are not true. And ppl do no research for themselves and they parrot what they hear and that’s how ppl get wrong information. I luv pumpkin it’s my favorite I do pumpkin all year long! Ur soap is beautiful

      Thank you so much for all of this info! I strongly suspected the pour lye water in oil thing was perfectly fine (as I’ve done it many times now - in this video alone 4 times!). But it’s nice to hear that it’s fine from another soap - thanks so much!

    This combination is gorgeous. I am just starting out with melt and pour bases. Do you as a soap maker have any tips and tricks for different types of melt and pour creations? I use molds at this time because the swirling isn't working well. Thank you

    • @JerikaZimmerman
      @JerikaZimmerman  3 місяці тому

      Swirling with Melt and pour is challenging! I find melt and pour to be a good option when using uniquely shaped molds. I’ve seen beautiful loafs made too - they’re really quite versatile. I like how you can just quickly zap them to get them liquid again .

    Jerika. What I thought slight difference in two pumpkin soaps on pouring was colour difference did you add more purée to the second? Your last soap is superb I just love natural colourants always a surprise fancy cocoa going grey for example. Well done on all of them. And thank you for sharing even one you were disappointed with.

      I’ve learned to work with it, but ya it’s definitely not a perfect fit and is a bit awkward. July from Winston and Walter has since improved her molds and this isn’t an issue with her current models.

    Greetings Jerika,
    I’m asking just for clarity.
    Will the Pumpkin being in an aluminium container cause any skin allergies?

    • @JerikaZimmerman
      @JerikaZimmerman  3 місяці тому +1

      I think if you have a skin allergy to aluminum that’s incredibly sensitive, then you should definitely avoid using anything that touches aluminum on your body.

    Can I ask you who you have you insurance through for your candle making? I have been looking around..

    • @JerikaZimmerman
      @JerikaZimmerman  3 місяці тому

      I don’t like to offer advice on this as choosing the right insurance provider is so personal to your own business needs and can literally make or break your company. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help! I can suggest to call around to as many insurance providers as you can and shop around for a good quote for insurance that you feel will best sui your company and its needs.

      I’ve made many soaps this way successfully. I think it’s one of those things that gets touted as a rule and then people follow them without really knowing why it’s a rule. I would love for someone to chime in and let me know ! I don’t want to promote any unsafe practices 😊
