Watched this video last night. All kinds of good stuff in there! I went out today to dig for about 2 hours. Ended up finding my first insulator! One of the “Patented May 2, 1893” ones. Also had another coincidence...we decorated our Christmas tree earlier today before I had gone out to dig and I found my first ornament in this site. Blue 1/2” bulb, Mercury glass type, only for my son to drop it and shatter it on the floor while looking at the finds for the evening.

I tried to dig some marbles earlier today after lunch....but did not find a 1. And it was so hot in the dump I just left. Went to the river again and found some more arrowheads..it is cooler on the river. The dump felt like it was 100 degrees with 100 % humidity. It was the worst ever up there today.

Wow Rocks , what a hunt . You were smokin on the smokensteins. lol. I can maybe help you out a bit on the insulators . The large damaged one and a few of the others with double wire grooves are a type called transposition . These were used on the lines to allow the wires to transposed or moved over to eliminate crosstalk and/or induction , The clear spiral insulator with holes on either end is called a radio strain insulator . The aqua one with the cross groove on the top is a lightning rod insulator , used to secure the ground wire on buildings . Hope that helps . On insulator dumps I have found that at times there can be several hundresd in close proximity . Thx for taking us all along op the hunt bro . and good luck

@@rockscousteau I know how that is. When I first started diggin, I prob should have been more methodical. Now my fave marble dump is hard to dig because of the over burden. I only discovered your channel recently and was drawn towards your Native American artifact finds on river banks. That said I've seen other relic hunters doing exactly what you're doing in this video but I've never seen so many marbles come up in a single hunt! How do you even find out where old town dump sites are located?
You have a peculiar accent which is remarkably similar to that of my late paternal grandmother whom was originally from Pennsylvania. Have you always lived in Ohio? Just curious!

Found with love, found with passion... documenting strong history. I would say that the "marbles" must have ben such a total, universal game in the United States?

Yea Prior to say 1960...I think about every kid had them. I have been on 7 different town dumps in my videos and every one of them have beautiful glass marbles in the 1920's to late 1950's layers of trash. Everyplace I dig....there are marbles and toys. I hope you are finding stuff man....i figure you are getting rain as well. I only found 1 marble today and not much else....in like an hour and a half. The ground is just a wet mess here now. It has rained all day. Stay safe man.....this virus is getting out of control here. I went to walmart earlier and 90% of the people I saw had on plastic gloves and masks......never thought I would see it like this.

Labels? I have dug a few marbles, but never realized that there was any value to them until I discovered your channel. 50 dollars for a marble, are you serious? How did you ever decide to go after marbles? Do you have a site so that someone could purchase some of your finds? And one more question. Is there really a book of marbles? Enjoyed your video. Your excitement is palpable

Well that one with the red flame look.....after i do more research.....is a Christensen Flame Marble. Type that into Ebay......Guys want $150.00 a piece for them. Some of these marbles can be worth hundreds for one marble.

@@rockscousteau After seeing a large amount of your marbles, I get the impression that you don't sell them. Thanks for getting back to me
