Watched this video last night. All kinds of good stuff in there! I went out today to dig for about 2 hours. Ended up finding my first insulator! One of the “Patented May 2, 1893” ones. Also had another coincidence...we decorated our Christmas tree earlier today before I had gone out to dig and I found my first ornament in this site. Blue 1/2” bulb, Mercury glass type, only for my son to drop it and shatter it on the floor while looking at the finds for the evening.
Wow you even fould some killer insulators. You could make an awsome walk way light up with those extra insulators. Imaging that color all lit up at night.
@Indyfan.I am reviewing this iconic video again.Lots of comments have been added since production and the video continues to give more each time watch. Thanks for your comment and hope you are well
Outstanding video Rocks. One of your best days dump digging in a while. The marbles and insulators are just crazy. Looks like a great time. Time just flies on days like this one.
Yea.....I wish I could have stayed longer even. But I couldnt hack it anymore. I am going to go back there tomorrow and stay as long as I can. Hopefully I can find at least a few more Akro Agates. I found another huge shooter today that is pretty nice. Hope you are well buddy
I tried to dig some marbles earlier today after lunch....but did not find a 1. And it was so hot in the dump I just left. Went to the river again and found some more arrowheads..it is cooler on the river. The dump felt like it was 100 degrees with 100 % humidity. It was the worst ever up there today.
Dang! You found diggers heaven on earth lol. Bottles ,insulators, and marbles, what else could a man kid ask for lol, I'm so jealous of you. Keep up the good dirt, I mean good work lol.
I need to go back to this dump. Only bad thing it is 100 degrees...and I have to drive to that place. It is 25 mins up the road. I will go back maybe later this month. I was thinking I should go back there....the marbles on that place are AMAZING.
Wow Rocks , what a hunt . You were smokin on the smokensteins. lol. I can maybe help you out a bit on the insulators . The large damaged one and a few of the others with double wire grooves are a type called transposition . These were used on the lines to allow the wires to transposed or moved over to eliminate crosstalk and/or induction , The clear spiral insulator with holes on either end is called a radio strain insulator . The aqua one with the cross groove on the top is a lightning rod insulator , used to secure the ground wire on buildings . Hope that helps . On insulator dumps I have found that at times there can be several hundresd in close proximity . Thx for taking us all along op the hunt bro . and good luck
Today's going to be a good day since the smile this video put on my face will remain there all day. I could feel your happiness Rocks. Wonderful treasure's brother. Happy hunting and God bless.
Yea. I need to go back to that dump. It is further up the river. And the gas cost....I just go to ones that are closer. I will hit this again this summer
Man oh man, it was an insulator and marble day for sure! Such beautiful marbles, the "wood grain" one is particularly nice. And those insulators are unbelievable...one of those would be a great giveaway candidate!
@@rockscousteau I know how that is. When I first started diggin, I prob should have been more methodical. Now my fave marble dump is hard to dig because of the over burden. Should have started at the bottom and worked up. I’m sure there’s still a lot, just would have to move a lot of dirt I already dug.
Just finished watching. Incredible rewards for you at this particular site! Just awesome. Hard to pick favorites when it comes to your videos, but this is near the top!!👍👍
Great finds, love the insulators,I've never found one,but I remember them being everywhere in the 60s,but I wasn't savoring things them, maybe I will find one some day, great gold mine of marbles today
Yea I like those too. I do not find many of them at all. That entire frame I am working on this is the only 1. I have some in other frames I did early this year and late last year. I am going back to this same hole to dig tomorrow
You were really on it for this video! Outstanding marbles! When I was a kid, the ladies would bake the insulators until they "crackled". Not sure why. I guess they thought it looked good.
Yea....this was a good dig. I have not found many marbles over the past few weeks. Just a few......it is either feast or famine digging for this stuff.
