This Spider-Man and the agent venom are the two figures I want the most from this wave. To me this figure is perfect as it is. And I still like the show just as much as I liked it in 2000 when I was 4 years old.
Making the body black instead of blue and doing color highlights like animated venom I think would be the best way to really make this shine. Then the black shading where it needs to be on the face. Otherwise Im relatively please. Best V shape to the torso we've gotten and decently close to the animation.
I always thought it was an interesting design. I like this. I also may be in the minority bit I'm happy it doesn't have the cel shading. I figure that in the future we will get one because of the unique nature of the design. However to me you see the costume how it actually is supposed to be . Look forward to getting this.

That being said I know, I just KNOW hasbro is going to do a cell shading version in some sort of two pack without the open hands. It’s so frustrating since I was mildly excited for this ML
Cel shading on action figures simply doesn’t work. It only looks good on statues. A posed articulated figure just breaks the pattern and makes it look like someone splattered paint on it.
I think the Spider-Man unlimited action figure might be based on Spider-Man 2000 because the cartoon and the game is Sharing the same Voice actor Rino Romano
The only time cell-shading would have worked and they blow it. And not using the RYV body was lame. So far this whole wave has been an easy skip for me. Hasbro can’t do anything right. 😂😂😂
We need a Spider-man 98 series and he could team up with Unlimited for a final "episode". Unlimited is not a sequel series. This aint Beast Machines to Beast Wars. It literally does not work. Figure wise Face needed to be painted. While shading it was pretty much his face. I think the figure should have been Black and Red which while technically wrong is aesthetically correct. It would be easier to come back in with blue highlighting over black then shade all that black.

I'm impatient to see the fan channel ultimate Spider-Man, accessories and all next year. Looking at this most recent sculpted detail, I'm more hopeful sculpted or recessed webbing lines on the costume.
Spider-Man Unlimited is a series I haven’t watched but I am loving the look of this figure! The sculpting on the suit is killer! And…don’t think I didn’t notice the Invisible Woman’s transformation at the end! 😂
The cell shading is needed. I’ll try myself. Why wasn’t it a sequel to you? The convoluted nature of the story? He is taken from MJ? It abandons all the characters from the previous show outside the synapses twins? It’s funny. That story of being one mind was all over sci-fi back then. I think that was the story beat used for the symbiotes in the comics. The animal knight characters were cool. Goblin being a good guy was also in the comics around then. It was an interesting story.
It isn't a sequel because they show how Cletus got the Carnage symbiote and it is different to the 90s animated series, in which it's Mordo who gives him the symbiote.
He's OK, but I think of the cell shading they did on Daredevil in the Hydro 2 pack, and with that little extra this could have been a homerun despite the articulation. If I see him cheap maybe I'd get him, but I'd much rather an updated 2099!!!
How close is the red to the newest scarlet spider? Im curious what that head would look like on the scarlet spider body and vise versa. Looks a bitt darker though.
For $25 he could have used some web accessories and gripping hands. I'm undecided on this figure. I like the design (though like you, I always thought it was the 2099 design), but the show itself is pretty awful. The head is also too squished. It should be more oval shaped, not circular.
Totally agree it's a ripoff of 2099, I remember it having a much smoother animation, storywise not so much. Wouldn't mind adding it to the collection just because of the nostalgia.

This would be the one time I feel like a figure actually needed cel shading but otherwise it still looks really good.
