A detail you see in this fights is that the Ultramen all have a light in their chest called a "color timer", is a little different depending on the show but essentially whenever it starts beeping it means that the transformation is going off, because Ultraman can only exist for a limited time on earth, bassically if the timer ends then Ultraman loses (Or even straight up dies).
Btw, little thing about that final fight, Ultraman Taro is Ultraman Mebius's master and have a sort of father and son dynamic so it really hits the feelings with the context of the show
Some also called it different like in Nexus where they called it (idk but I heard some of you Tokusatsu fans saying it) they called it Life Gauge or Energy Gauge

Keep in mind that the fight you seen are takes place in separate universe (usually). For example: Ultraman Tiga and Ultraman Dyna, which is a direct sequel to Tiga. Takes place in the same universe. But almost every Ultraman show is somewhat connected either through multiversal travel or crossover episode or something like that. Basically the Ultraverse.
So for anyone who might want to watch Ultraman but they're afraid if they watch the newer ones they will miss out on alot of the lore. Don't worry you probably won't.
You gotta do a part 2 because some of the New Generation Ultraman fights are a chefs kiss. In my opinion, you should watch Skull Gomora vs Ultraman geed
Other people have already mentioned this, but the closest Ultraman ever comes to fighting Godzilla is when the OG Ultraman fought Jirass, which is quite literally Godzilla with a frill. They even had Ultraman rip off the frill halfway through the fight bc Tsupro knew they're not fooling anyone

You definitely need to watch the showa era Ultraman fight. They usually end it with a very brutal and gruesome death (the monsters). Like actual body dismemberment and blood coming out of the monsters.
It's kinda crazy they show that to an franchise that's primarily targeted to kids. Now fortunately (or unfortunately?) They have dumb down the gore in the newer show but it's still pretty brutal in some fight.

Technically no, but since Tsubaraya did suit work for Godzilla they borrowed a couple Godzilla suits to modify into for Gomess and Jirass. 19:19 Actually, the statue is not the problem. It actually started from an accident where the guy who keeps saying Ultraman Mebius-sama (I forgot what role he was supposed to have) dropped one of three containers that had Grotecells (a liquid used by Alien Grotes to cause a statue of a god to turn into the original Kodaigon in Return of Ultraman) into a river. The Grotecells in the water was soon caught by an old man who owned the Ebisu statue and once brought home, a bunch of statues and other things in their house became animated (Though, they weren't much of a threat) and that, of course, included the Ebisu statue, causing it to grow in size.
And yes, I watched the episode around October or November
Has Ultraman fought Godzilla officially? Maybe. If you're talking about movies or show then no. Game? Yeah, in a fighting game called Gigabash. Ultraman can fight Godzilla (they're both DLC characters).
The closest thing is when Ultraman fights Jirass. A monster that's suspiciously very similar looking to Godzilla.
This is unrelated to what I've said but Godzilla and Gamera actually fought each other officially (kind of). It was a very obscure live stage show in Japan i think it happened in the 1960s or 1970s. Unfortunately since the live show was very obscure or not well known, not many people know this. The only proof that this really happens is a couple of pics and some videos.

Also, my counterpoint on what makes both great.
Is The first time is literally his first time. Before that all he knew was that he was an orphan Human not the son of one of the biggest villains in history. Which makes his Weak fighting understandable, I love it because It shows he just got it and its his learning curve.
Now transition to Z, you can see his MAJOR improvement from the once just a human guy to a Learned fighter.

In my opinion some of the best Ultraman fights are the ones where it's just the kaiju fighting eachother. You have gotta check out
'Earthron vs Kelbeam vs Eleking' and 'Redking VS Telesdon VS Sadora' They are my favourite fights in any Ultraman series or film.
There's an entire show for that and it's pretty awesome. And i think it's the only show where the monsters are really agile and very fast and skilled. They're usually dumb or slow in other shows. Gomora got some crazy moves in that show
