- Paul returns to Studio 2 at Abbey Road. The room where all the Beatles records were made. For an intimate journey through his songwriting history. From his very first Beatles song to the work on his new album "Chaos & Creation In The Backyard".
"Miles and miles of English garden." Just Sir Paul looking out his window.
Such a talented fellow. It's nice to live in the same time and space as he.
My GOD, I Love him singing Heartbreak hotel!! AWESOME!
It's incredible his still sane in his mind - after all the beatlemania and everything! he has let very little go all the way into his head, and we are damn lucky it stayed that way
The original Elvis's bass! Wow! It's good to be Paul!
"peradventure I'm amazed"
hahah...i LOVE paul!
Paul mc Cartney is my favorite he is the best among the other beatles greit musicians, wonderful way to play and nice voce.
"English Tea" a perfect example of Paul MCartney's songwriting.
Simple, melodic, and memorable.
Mac you are simply amazing.
music at its finest
An "old lady in new clothes."
Brilliant!
beautiful.
se me puso la piel de gallina, que artista tan increíble
INCREDIBLE MAN
He's made my Saterday morning bright! I feel so happy to find such jewels on the Tube. And more: he seems (still!) just as mad for Elvis, as I am for him. He therefor must understand my feelings about him pretty well. There's a difference however: Elvis's long dead, and Macca's still very much alive and enjoying playing around. And I might still have a chance to meet the genius himself one day. Oh yes, I keep dreaming, my love.
Totally amazin stuff.
Bravo
paul is a legend
wow that was an awesome interpretation of the elvis song
It's so strange and amazing that he pays his respects to someone he views as his superior. Here, all of these people, and us as well, are in awe of him and suddenly he briefly becomes like us. That's what I see, anyway.
Paul is a genius! he's so creative- I may not like this version as much as his otehr versions- but it's cool to have 1 song in different ways so there's a version for everyone's tastes. give Paul credit for writing it! Beatles/Wings/ Paul/Ringo 4 ever!
brilliant
I know, it's the cutest thing ever! While we go all fangirl and fanboy all over HIM, he goes all fanboy over Elvis! LOL!
@katrin2801 You are right.
For example, we have Let it Be, a great song recorded by The Beatles.
But John has said that it was all Paul, he said that it could be the Wings or himself alone (he said that in an interview for Playboy)
And I also love McCartneys Songs as I love Beatles songs.
I agree with you!
Hendrix never did his songs the same way, and all notable respected artists probably know what is "expected" of them at shows, but sometimes it's a breath of fresh air for themselves to try something different. Usually, the audience enjoys it.
donufro, thanks for your comment, I like it, it is a nice angle to see it. good comment, it helps me.
Sir Paul! :)
FUCKING, FUCKING BRILLIANT...
@NikaziO14 -- They're probably all production people, roadies, etc who are used to seeing Paul play and rehearse.
"English Tea" wonderfulllllllllll
If I could sing like him at 64, I'd be pretty f*cking happy
I loved the spotlight when he took it off...
Love English tea~ :) Any Sunday morning~
U right... from a huge Beatle fan.
you are really good
Paul sounds SPOT ON to the original recording of Lady Madonna.
Paul sounds SPOT ON to the recording of Lady Madonna.
my gretsch guitar has white trim also but its a red body, i love it
where do you get this dvd??? please let me know, thanks!
Really nice version of Lady Madonna..one Beatle has so much talent, imagine when the four of them got together..they produced some phenomenal music, The Beatles..
-PEACE-
The English Tea track sounds like "For No One" meets "Piggies" with lyrics by Noel Coward!
Love this version of "Lady Madonna"!
me too!
I agree with you.
ME TO!
Reminds me of For no one.
SHEEEESH you'd do the same wouldn't you !? If I had the '62 hofner i would desire to die with it.
Did you see the "other" one he did? it was another night in the same series of concerts... I didn't remember Come Together having the words Hairy Asshole in them but my God John sang them anyways...
This version of Lady Madonna is freaking amazing.
How is called the song at 8:30??
anyone know what kind of piano?
@ballindjo I don't think it is Linda... If i am correct she died in 1998.
@Daycron66 "After Paul McCartney there is very little."
That does ring true, most creativity is between 20-35. But i have to believe there is a resurgence in the 60's. Look at elton johns latest work, pauls, hell even clint eastwood is peaking in his late 70's. I dont think true inspiration has an age limit.
@ Katrin2801
dear cathy, you are right : all the songs you mentioned are genius. I am talking about .... hh forget it. the fact he has appeared at the lates X factor ( this McDonalds Casting show) says it all....... I am sure you don't get it...., do you ?
Berher
what's the name of elvis's song !?
this Lady Madonna is brilliant
I wish he would play Spies Like Us
I love Paul's stuff, but I don't like the English Tea track. It was essentially done by the Kinks on 'Village Green Preservation Society'. It also could be used on any 1980s American film stereotyping England.
The track after (Too Much Rain) is BRILLIANT though.
"Peradventure I'm amazed" lol
@Daycron66
"After McCartney, there is very little"
- Myself
Linda died about six years before this video was made.
Haha! I know you were kidding, but you must have never seen the video of John playing Come Together live in 72!
does lennon sing lady madonna on the record?
What did you just say? :Elvis influenced The Beatles?: Peradventure you've got it backwards.
I´m so in love with new lady madonna!
Actually, I think some of the stuff on Flaming Pie is easily up to his best.
that "english tea" is really good what are you talking about?
steinway?
such a beautiful version of Lady Madonna
Paul does Elvis pretty good!
@santseghotmail Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis Presley
I love that version of lady madonna!!!
It's actually easier too see at 6:20
Linda got it for him. But I dont remember the occasion.
the english tea song sounds like johnny depp in the barber of fleetstreet movie or whatever.
he got is as a birthday present from Linda
english tea is beautiful, similar to for no one though
@Doleafol You obviously aren't understanding the whole 'different perspective' slant of this show. The writer has every right to reinvent their songs as they please. McCartney needs no instruction from anyone over his music!
This version would have been nice with Ray Charles doing the verse and the chorus while the Beatles (J, P and G) doing the bridge.
true. like beethoven
I saw the words Steinway and son. 6:07
čudo
English Tea sounds just like For No One
loradora, you cheeky loradora..it s not nice to call me a fool. I am biggest Beatles and McCartney fan in the world, ..but,..it s OK , we are all disciples ,right ;-)
keep experimenting Paulie...
yeah you do but i feel that you are most creative between 20-35, when you are younger
best played like this rather than uptempo and jaunty i reckon
@browneyedgirl57 amazon has it for about $8. well worth it.
@ballindjo no its pauls ex wife Heather Mills
What's sad about it? Just curious. I think he's just enjoying himself
wait is that linda mccartney or heather mills? looks like linda.
@legolas35653 "Very gay, hip-hooray!!" I'm pretty sure he means gay as in happy :)
Wow, impessing Lady Madonna. God, is there anything this man can't do?:)
A Canadian can't have possibly had ANY influence on English Tea. More like "Large Double-Double"
@eleaelo heartbreak hotel
his way? wtf man...
oh but you are
Prooving to be a quite good piano-player anyway! But I'd prefer the original
to me the Beatles and all solo Beatles are like heaven, but I am sorry to say what Pauly does here is more than embarrasing, this is very very sad....Andreas
Elvis is great, cos he influenced The Beatles, however The Beatles are greater, most of their songs are timeless, and they make some bigger impact than Elvis, for example, play gigs in a stadium, and revolutionise studio recording and etc.
lol nice, but he, and 3 other guys
