Can I say a massive thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and expertise in your video series... Your DNS backup restore video gave me confidence in restoring service to 2 DC's with broken forward domain zones! ;)
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome thanks, never actually done this before but writing some documentation
Great work!!!!!!
🎉
Please make a SQL server video
Sir, how to install roll /service on core server 2008/12/16/19? U have any video ?
Sorry, I dont have any video on it.
1) You can use windows powershell to install server role and services.
2) You can also use remote management feature to remotely manage sever core from another server with GUI.
3) You can use Windows Admin Center to do so.
Thanks you sir but what if I want to transfer the dns file to a primary domain controller machine
You can copy the exported file to the server where you want to restore it and follow the steps to restore the dns zone file on the destination server.
Hi sir. what if i delete mylab.local(example only ) then create a new one. how am going to create a new one OR delete all in the forward lookup zone then create a new one. is there a step by step guide
Even if you delete all the records from your Active Directory Integrated DNS zone (main one with you domain name, in my case it is mylab.local), all the resource records will comes up again when you create a AD integrated dns zone with the same as your domain name. You can check out this video for how to create new forward lookup zone: ua-cam.com/video/-TsqAHUWdQU/v-deo.html
@@MSFTWebCast thank you i alteady restored my dns by using this guide although not all the guide some info give me a hint. thank you for this. hope you have more subscriber. am one of you subscriber...thanks of this vid.
If i create a new forward zone from a backup file and configure it as an AD integrated zone do Record updates dynamically? if not then what should do here?
Yes, you can import the zone file from backup file and convert it to AD integrated zone to dynamically update it.
@@MSFTWebCast Can you suggest any of your playlists help me out of this scenario? Because I have already deployed a new zone from a backup file but records are not dynamically updated.
@@hridaysaha9254 Did you change the zone from standard primary to AD integrated? And also make sure you have selected secure dynamic update option.
@@MSFTWebCast all are done successfully. but records are not updated dynamically to this zone.
one of my 4 Domain Controllers just got its WindowsServer version updated and its forward lookup zone (ourdomain.suffix) is empty (no subfolders). Can I backup the zone from one of the other 3 Domain controllers and then restore/recreate the zone on the Domain Controller where it's empty? THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
There is no need to do that as all domain controllers all replicate the DNS zone files with each other. Delete the zone and recreate again, perform the manual AD replication with other DC. Make sure that you select AD integrated DNS zone type and replication scope will be All DNS server running on Domain controllers in the domain.
Note: If you have created different DNS zone then your domain name then there will be no SRV records (and subfolders) apart from SOA and NS.
