It looks like your beardy is due for a tank upgrade. The tank you have her in is only a 40gal tank, and adults require a minimum of 120gal or 4'x2'x2' enclosure. You're doing a great job at maintaining the tank, but we just want to make sure we have a proper setup. Also make sure she has plenty of uvb. Really can't have too much of that when it comes to dragons
okay bet thanks for the tips! making her home bigger has always been a goal, i’ll have the means to soon. for now I let her out more so she’s not stuck in there all day
I also second all of this. :) The fabric substrate isn't usually recommended because it can hold bacteria and their nails catch on it, potentially pulling out their nails entirely. Also, being on a flat surface constantly can be bad for their joints as there isn't any cushion for them when they walk. I love seeing owners that love their pets and treat them well like this. 🖤
@KristiStClair64 We uses folded up sheets and towels for mine that we put in the washing machine every week or so to clean, but mine were also potty trained not to poop in their tanks, which made everything a lot less messy. Always made sure it was materials their claws didn't get stuck in, and nice a soft for their little feet
@@iamphoebeshieldscheck out dubia roach brand cages its only like $250 for a 4x2x2 once my beardie grows thats what we are getting, way cheaper than the other brands
Hey just a note reptile carpet is horrific even when covered. It breeds bacteria and is impossible to fully clean. It’s slightly safer with paper towel over it because it removes the risk of toes getting caught, but still really not good. Just curious, why do you use paper towel? She doesn’t appear to be a small baby, are you observing her?
@@iamphoebeshieldsit shouldn’t be about what’s easy for you, it should be about well being of the animal. Coconut fiber and play sand mix is perfect and very cheap and looks great
What size tank in gallons do you have? I’m getting one but I have a 25g starter tank. I’m thinking he can stay in there for 6 months u til I can upgrade larger to a 50g maybe.
The sand works the best for my Zeus it's like a litter for cleaning poop, I just make sure he's not eating it I put all food in bowl and he eats from the bowl, I like to have more of his natural habitat
Just to let you know they can get there nails stuck to the mat basically ripping there nails off so I’ll use a lose substrate if I were you (impaction is caused by dehydration not sand)
I wish my 5 month old would eat his veggies! Any advice on getting him to eat them? I made him a stellar mix of all kinds of stuff! Maybe it’s too much variety? It’s a finely diced mix of collared greens, leafy green lettuce, endive, bell pepper, turnip leaves, celery leaves, a small amount of honeycrisp apple to temp him to eat (there’s barely any, just a teeny tiny mixed in treat to reward veggie eating) and I think that’s it? Oh, and clover/alfalfa sprouts! All finely diced and when I feed him, I put a little water on the veg and add a tiny pop of calcium to the mix since he seems to like it! (I’ve seen him licking the calcium off the walls from his dusty crickets lol) I know that was a lot, but hey, if anyone reads this and has advice or constructive criticism for me, I’ll happily take it! Just be nice please! 😊
To get started, Feed by hand and offer every morning before any bugs. I've had good success feeding by hand because they seem to like when the greens are wiggling and moving. Try one at a time instead of a mix. I feed arugula one week , mustard greens the next, and turnip greens after that. Feeding one at a time will help you to learn what greens your dragon likes and doesn't like. Don't put any fruit (never feed fruit even small amounts) and don't sprinkle with calcium until he's eating greens regularly.Don't be scared to withhold bugs for a few days. Before you know it he will be eating greens. Good luck!
You should get the black matt from zen habitat there way more easier to clean plus the pee of the dragon doesn't sink in i got one for a 40 gal tank but since they don't make those Matt's for those tanks I had to cut it to make it fit there very good Matt's
if u feed her a few bugs to stimulate a poo before a tub soak she'll poop in the tub and let me tell u how easy clean up when u just flush the poo down the drain. both my bearded dragons poo (kept seperately ofc) in a tub soak every day. I rarely ever have to clean up a. hot stinky poo in their separate tanks. she looks well taken care of. thats awesome. grays mum
Hiii I was wondering if I could have tips for my male bearded dragon right now he’s only 8 months old but I’m afraid for him to age and get more vicious I really love him and I understand his facial expressions but I do need some tips?
So apparently at stop and shop there’s this string you can buy near the produce… THE PAPER (that comes with it) IS PERFECT FOR BEARDED DRAGON TANKS!! It doesn’t leak through and it’s very cheap !!
Sometimes i cry because i cant afford a big tank and im scared that my bearded dragon is going to die because the tank is small its like 15 gallons i wish a tank can just spawn on my hand or something
This is satisfying cuz my dragons cage is not clean most of the time. But when I do clean her cage I bathe her and clean her cage. I don’t use substrate just the green mat, cuz I don’t want her eating dirt. I leave water bowl in ther feed her with all types of food fluker brand with mix of crickets meal worms and other shit like chopped carrots for her to eat . I also throw in some garden lizards in there to eat, usually small ones. I did see her eat pretty big garden lizard with the blue belly. She looked ‘cute, cuz she got fat off that one lizard.
Yes. That's life. (Just showing how in a religion where animals are sacred food is food NOT preaching or forcing) In my religion and beliefs we are not allowed to harm animals in any way shape or form unless self defense or food. This is food. I feel awful but it is what it is 🤷 my dog is fed fully raw, so no kibble just a really expensive raw diet, again. As long as k*IIed for meat it's fine. At least they get a nice life before being eaten? Same with our foods. Food is food and what's healthy is healthy. Whats the issue with that?
The cleaning process was so therapeutic. Seeing the before and after really gets me
thank you!
Reptile carpet is really bad and I’m not a Karen when they pee and poop it absorbs it and can cause an ammonia spike in the tank
She’s having a spa day!🦎🧖🏽♀️ So cute! 🥰
They are so intelligent . They can learn their name.
For some reason when she crawled out a little bit in the towel was funny to mee soo cute

Whats the dirt bowl for ?
You do this every day? I feel like thats wild
Honestly once the routine goes it feels like it’s easy and quick. It’s like having kiddos :)
I have one and I named her caramel yours is also adorable 😊
Oooooo so cleannn
thank you ☺️
U bath her everyday ?
Ma'am please consider tile 🙏 the reptile carpart can harbor parasites
Ur such a good beardie mum!❤
Doing really well
My spike loves baths too! ✌️❤️
No substrate?
Pretty dirty after only 1 day. I do mine once a week and it's still not that bad
I need to know where you got that dirt box pls 🙏
You do this daily?! I love that for her! How spoiled she is ❤
yess unless she and her cage is clean then i can skip that part, thank you!
I hope you’re not giving her a bath daily. It’s not good for them…
I only bathe mine when he's shedding
Scrap the vinegar and water solution and get some F 10.

Where did you get that climbing rock I love it
I got it from Petsmart! mine was about $30
A little info, if you’re not careful they could drown in the water. I forgot how that happens but try doing some research on it

Hey just poping in to say using that reptile carpet as substrate (floor) can actually be harmful to your dragon as their nails can get stuck and break

imagine first feeding the food and then feeding the animal the fed food. Oh wait…
If this is really a daily routine that is very bad and you haven't done any research it seems 😢
Get rid of that carpet. That’s terrible for their nails and can cause serious injury.
Don't use the flooring or rugs can pull out toes all the way to the knuckles do not recommend using further stay loving reptiles
Yeah that seems to be the only problem
yes thank you i stopped using that carpet
