More than any demos on UA-cam, and that including guys like Pete Thorn, Brett Kingman, Tim Pierce, etc., I feel like I get a really great idea of what the guitar sounds like in your demos. They are so good...well done!
I have a firebird with mini humbuckers and and Telecaster cabronita (filtertrons are smaller than regular humbuckers ) and I've never went back to using full sized humbuckers ever again. Mini-humbuckers are insanely underrated even though they kick ass. They also have a unique raw and compressed sound when overdriven that you can't even get with P-90's.
I think she's THE ONE. Been in the market for a new electric under $1000 but this one seems like love at first sight think I might suck it up and pay the extra.
Walmart didn't exist back then. The era's big discount department stores (that I recall) were Sears & Roebuck, Montgomery Ward, J.C. Penny. Catalog sales (meaning mail order) of Sears & Roebuck helped build America, not only providing inexpensive musical instruments but entire (disassembled) houses as well!!!
The pickups are not mini HB's which have a single magnetic across the base of both coils. They are Firebird PU's with two magnetics one for each coil sitting on their edge and inserted in the bobbin with the wire wrapped around the magnet. they sound very Strat like.
There is no such thing as a humbucking gold foil. Gold Foils were designed in the first place to be surface mounted and as such would have to have a dummy coil inside the guitar and if they did.It would be a special feature that the marketing guys at Harmony would make a big fuss about in their ads & specs.Go to Sweetwater who sells them and they simply say Humbuckers. They can not afford to get wrong and if they did they would get too many returned guitars. I am a guitar designer with 8 years experience. I am dead if I do not know this sh@t. Look out for my brand LENARD guitars they should be out this year C19 permitting.
@@Paul_Lenard_Ewing You're right, there isn't. Which leads me back to my firste thought, they are either a really bad made "humbucker", in a Firebird/mini humbucker style casing, or a gold foil pickup in the same casing. If you look on any of the Harmony guitars on their site, they are big on the gold foil term, and it's totally possible to make a gold foil in any of the size pickups they have chosen for their guitars. As for the Silhouette, the originals had gold foils in them.. I use the term gold foil loosely here.
by far the best instrumental i have ever heard you do for this intro. i would listen to this if it was a song, sounds like tame impala, pond and the production was perfect. i would LOVE to know what pedals you user for that intro!

@@eirikstor heck yeah; thanks so much! Also, that other video you made detailing your mix with the Dirty Shirley was really eye opening and helpful; thanks a ton!
Hey buddy. I need your help. I’m trying to start on UA-cam, but I don’t know how to record audio and video at the same time. How can I do it? Can you please make a video explaining that? 😞
Uriel, what‘s your setup at the moment? What audio and video are you talking? Recording yourself playing guitar or talking into a camera? You need to be more specific. Maybe use the internet first to research what exactly hardware and software you may need. You can still ask questions if it‘s something specific.
I know Mike Ness from Social D says he takes the mini humbuckers out of his Les Paul's and throws them in the trash but I am getting some great tone playing Social D covers on this guitar!
Guitar sounds great but you never mentioned the MSRP of this guitar which is $1299. For a made in USA guitar that makes sense and I should hope it plays nicely since it’s competing with Rickenbacker and Gibson rather than the budget Danelectros that it’s shape would have you think it had more in common with.
I would have bought that over the Pelham SG Spesh (Gib) I just acquired this month had it been available n my corner of the world (Down Under). I wonder if it's similarly priced... (?). Probably costs 3× as much...although.. it's a pretty simple, straight forward looking build, for all I know it could be going for half...🤷♂️ Anyone care to enlighten me...?? P.S. It's not that I'm displeased with my new Gibson at all - infact, I just love it to bits. But rather, I've my come to like the SG in certain iterations ( *NOT* Cherry!), whereas I have had an unsatiated lust for Jazzmaster-y type offset guitars for many years.
Granted, that’s real money (though I’ve seen them now more like $1300). But for an American made guitar that seems to be really well made and finished and comes with quality parts, that’s a good deal on my opinion. We live in a day and age where a big brand high quality guitar with character (!) is more in the 2500-4000 bracket these days depending on what you expect. Harmony seems to be doing something right here and may put Fender and Gibson on alert in that price segment given the quality control issues you can encounter with them in their “entry level US” instruments. Disclaimer: haven’t gotten my hands on a Harmony yet but I’m more than intrigued with everything I’ve heard and seen so far.
Feels a little too "boutique priced" for me. At $200 less, I'd seriously consider one. I feel like an Epiphone Firebird at under half the price will outplay this.
I think it might depend where in the world you are. It is USA designed and built by an established high-end company (Heritage) in an established production centre previously owned by Gibson and comes with an expensive pro Mono case. Based on prices in the UK, this is the cheapest guitar with these specs I'm aware of.
@@moisie13 The J Mascis Squier is great for the price, but this Harmony is a far superior guitar in quality of components and craftsmanship. Orange capacitors, Plekd frets. Nitro. It's like if an old Fender Duo-Sonic went through puberty. i want one so bad
If you haven't gotten one yet, get one, I just recently got one and it is such an amazing guitar
The B Roll and post production at the start were great and added to the retro vibe.

Gotta have one of these. So beautiful and unique. Great playing and review.
