The moment that the normal population starts getting hit is the moment that the window has shifted. Being a biologist is cancellable. Talking about physiology, how bones, blood and organs work in a human body is a dangerous offense if you are studying human health. (How do I know?) I am in those fields. Now it gets to a point where the patients' health are getting pushed to the wayside because the doctors don't want to loose their career. The fact that you think that the Overton window has shifted to the right means that you are deeply ingrained into ideologies, and listening to arguments from lots of sides will get you to understand where everyone is coming from. Tim is not even to the right. He is actually to the left, and if you can see him as right wing.... there is a huge problem in your environment.

They played the victim when it all dropped. They're victims of their own greed and hubris.
Tim in particular was adamant about his victimhood. A victim who made millions off a supposed predatory deal. A victim who conveniently increased pro-russian sentiment ever since the media company was founded. A victim who lied to their audience about the amount of money his contemporaries make (in the same analytics bracket). A victim who had the audacity to make a sarcastic remark about how little money he made on the deal compared to super celebrities.
Also, Read the fxcking indictment. Again, they don't deny any of this. They don't speak against any of the facts mentioned.
But more importantly... There's absolutely no way you don't question where that amount of money is coming from. Especially when your sponsor is some guy you can't find anywhere on the internet. Especially when your sponsor tells you to report on (and hold specific views of) news stories of their choosing.
There are 3 scenarios here:
Tim isn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, Tim is a terrible journalist who didn't think to question why he's getting paid hilariously obscene amounts of money for minimal effort (those two aren't mutually exclusive) Or...
Tim knew but his greed overtook his integrity, so now all he has is plausible deniability.
As biased as mainstream media is, alternative media answers to the same overlords... Their sponsors and advertisers. Worse still, they have no error correction for biased coverage. It's up to individual creators to monitor their integrity. Unfortunately money talks and you don't listen at all. To imply that Tim just reports on the news without any bias is a straight up lie.
You say it's convenient that they brought this all to light when elections are coming up... Yeah no sh*t Sherlock. America is divided and all sides are looking for something to get ahead. Do you just selectively forget how propaganda works?
