It is said to be constructed during the reign of Kakatiya empire. The Kakatiya style of architecture is unmistakable.

They are not reddy rajulu, ther are recharla padmanayaka (velama). Recharla Padmanayakulu ruled Rachakonda and Devarakonda kingdoms. Nami reddy's nephew was Chevi reddy also called as betala reddy and the founder of the recharla padmanayaka dynasty.
