Yu Darvish on returning to the #Padres, his decision to go on the restricted list, when he could return and what it was like watching the team compete from afar.
In case anyone was wondering what kind of man and teammate Yu is, “it was my decision to go on the restricted list instead of the IL because I didn’t it was fair to collect a check while I was away from my team”… and now you know
A lot of that is also from the Japanese culture, in addition to Yu as an individual. A very classy, honest, and honarable way of going about things in life.
He’s like that piece of the puzzle that you thought you lost and would have to finish it without it but then right before you complete the puzzle you find it and it makes you happy
Baseball is an arduous game! It demands life. I can only imagine that he just needed to take some time away and take care of his life elsewhere. Glad to see him ready to be back - on his terms.
Great report Marty - as I a Padres fan, I'm so happy to have Yu back. We've all missed him. It's just great to see how this team has won despite all of the missing pieces and now Musgrove is back and kicking a$$ and Tatis and Yu will be playing within a week or two. This team is getting healthier and better. The team chemistry which I thought was an all-time high, could get to 110%....great news!
This is obviously a man of depth, and the Padres are fortunate to have him. I hope things work out well because it would sure round out one killer pitching staff.
He feels more comfortable responding in Japanese and having an interpreter relate his words more correctly rather than trying to express those same thoughts and emotions directly through his second language. People cry that he can understand what's being asked in English but "won't" respond in English. I grew up in SD and understand Spanish better than I can speak it, so why wouldn't i respond in English, my main language, when I understand what's being asked?
He's actually fluent in Slider, Fourseam Fastball, Sinker, Curve, Splitter, Cutter, Change up and at least 4 others. He's paid to sit adult men on a bench and keep them there, I find that entertaining enough.

1000%!!!!!

I am so happy to see him back! We absolutely need Darvish for the championship now!!!! Go Padre! Go Darvish! 🔥🔥🔥

I couldn't be happier with this news. Good to have Yu back

Thank you Yu for coming back. We missed you. Go Padres.
So glad!!!!
制限リストに入った理由が給料を受け取れないからという理由なのはカッコ良すぎる🥹SD投手陣のリーダーだと思うので、またまとまったブルペンが見れるのが楽しみです!

I think Yu should be wearing a MartyTime shirt!
The Padres need Yu to win the World Series
Guys, when he will throw at petoco
I hope vs SF
Yu may come back and start a bullpen day and be unhittable for 4 innings .. that would be awesome
I was thinking the one on the left was Y u lol
I wish we could hear Yu speak English more
Looks like he understands it though.
Why?

Poor 🧠 Hichiro Suzuki good 🧠 he learn good!!😎👍
@@raulgut4030 Are you ok?
Queue Soulja boy
His body language still makes him seem like something is bothering him in his life. I wish him well aside from baseball!
That's what my wife thought too. I thought maybe he was trying not to be emotional, as IMO that is not a masculine look for Japanese man.
Was it a problem with his wife?
is personal not your business!🧠🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@raulgut4030 but what was she up to though?
,@@arcticredpanda4598🙄
From what i hear in the grapevine, yes
His brother is a F-up. Been in trouble before in Japan. That's more likely. Maybe he got in a jam with the Yakuza.
Why doesn’t he speak English yet?
10 years in mlb,still can't speak english?
He speaks english. He just chooses not too when speaking to media so nothing gets misunderstood
