I can see this video is quite old but hey i just bought a second hand version (2009) a its a hoot to ride . A little more weight on the wrists than my 690 duke but great fun anyway..
@@thorstenkochling4750 the power difference is very noticeable. The Honda is a fair bit heavier but on the road feels well planted and very stable. Mine has michelin pilot road5 rear tyre and pirelli rosso4 front which match up well for me. I am not a big guy (5'8") and am very comfortable on the honda. Definitely a keeper for me. Cheers.
@@skinnydipper3493 Thank you for your reply! That is interesting information, I will definitely consider. I imagine the Duke feels like a bicycle in comparison, it is so light and agile. But now I am tempted even more to get my hands on a CB1000R. :) All the best and safe rides!
+Chris Doms well, another thing learned. It surprises me a bit that the bike doesn't have the same name everywhere in the world. I'm wondering what the reasoning behind it is.
These are not streetfighters, these are just naked bikes. Streetfighters are motorcycles that are customized in that style, usually being sportbikes with no fairings, dirt bike bars, loud exhausts and more power. There is no such thing as a factory streetfighter. Streetfighters are built, not bought.
Super nice bike. use mine every day to and from work. only thing wrong with this bike is that it´s extreeeeemly thirsty. done 11.600 kilometers on it now with no issues what so ever.
The Europeans have been enjoying it .... called hornet.....How can you post a video without even knowing what are you talking about??? The hornet is a COMPLETELY different model here!
Doesn't put out supersport power? It puts out more power than all the 600cc supersports. They should have said doesn't put out supersport literbike power.
+JortsRider but still it barley puts out enough to beat most 600cc supersports Most 600's put out between 97 to 113 depending on brand. Most superbikes putout between 130 to 200 depending on brand and model.
If you're done editing all your comments, lol. Want an upright riding position with all the power? Get a Yamaha FZ-1, a Suzuki GSX-S1000, or a Kawi Ninja 1000. They'll actually feel like they have MORE power on the road than the Superbikes that don't make their power until you're over 10,000 rpm. I bought the FZ-1 and it's a land missile over 7K rpm. The other two pull better at lower rpms. Had the Suzuki been out a year earlier, I probably would have bought it instead. It's got the famous long stroke GSXR motor in it and is under rated in the specs. And btw, I know Honda has the reliability reputation, but I read a report that took reported repairs of all the major makes, and Yamaha came out as #1 having the least issues, followed by Honda. Ducati and BMW were last with Suzuki and Kawi pretty close to Honda.
Yeah the Suzuki GSX-S1000 is damn fine bike and makes more hp than what they claim, the FZ1 is an awesome bike as well, are you planning on doing the FZ1N conversion kit on it or change the gearing at all? I saw the report you did Yamaha being the most reliable followed by Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda as the 4 most reliable motorcycles
as said above it has the smae name over here in europe, the hornet is a 600.
great new videos style though, big thumbs up
The 1000 is nicknamed barracuda (the white and red color way)
anybody that reads this 11yrs later, the hornet came in a 600 and a 900 ive just sold my 900 Hornet for a CB1000R
@aeroflopper and now it comes in a 750 and 1000...how times change lol

Cool! Do you still like it? I have a 690 Duke and am considering this as my next bike. I was wondering if the power difference is a lot.

how tall is the driver with white jacket?
Make an updated version test
byPATU the bike hasn't changed. There's rumors of a new one but this bike is the same as current
love the way it looks
in part 4 you said that the honda had a heavy clutch, now it is easy for you?
does it just power wheelie or do u have to pop the clutch
i have already done 22k miles on my CB1000R and i love it.
This is not the Hornet, this is the Predator. Totally different bike.
where is it called Predator? In Germany it's called CB1000R and my guess is, it's the same in the rest of Europe.
Don't know exactly. It's called the Predator in NZ and Australia at least, couldn't say where else.
+Chris Doms well, another thing learned. It surprises me a bit that the bike doesn't have the same name everywhere in the world. I'm wondering what the reasoning behind it is.
It's pretty common, but moreso with cars than bikes. But there's the MT-series, which is known as the FZ-series in the States, for example.
+Chris Doms I see. I think it's stupid, though.
Does it have a gear indicator?
No it does not.
0:14 it´s not called the hornet here! We call Hornet to the CB600F and not CB1000R.
price OTD?

Italian made??
The Hornet also comes in a 919CC size here (US) and abroad.
The cb1000r is a great bike!! Easy handling and great power. Check out my walkaround and review of my cb1000r
wel there is the ducati streetfighter 848 and the 1098
Great bike. Really a pleasure to ride.
But this one is not called "Hornet" here in europe. The Honda Hornet is just its' little sister (cb600f)
completely wrong, the hornet was also 900cc
No it doesn't. The 919 hasn't been sold in the US new in years.
CB1000R best bike !!! :D
Stuntman 175 is wrong Ducati sells a stock streetfighter ... Look it up....it's called the Ducati streetfighter... Comes in a variety of cc's.

JortsRider He said "Superbike" power numbers. Superbikes are the liter-class bikes. Supersport are the 600cc machines.
Photo314159 Subtle difference, I missed that, you're right!

Not the HORNET IN EU! THE HORNET is the CB650F.
No....the Hornet in EU is CB600F.
Well well well - they did not change design 2008-2016 all the same.
How does it compare to FZ-09? The Yamaha is so much cheaper.
LOL Europe stand down
Sorry nut in Europe, the hornet is Kawasaki!
No it’s not
125 horse power, not 109 hp
Mati Mateo they said recorded wheel horsepower on the dyno which is normally due to transmission losses . 125bhp at the crank.
