Nice job! Lightly squeeze the placenta until mom detaches. There are stem cells in the placenta. The O2 is amazing for them in the placenta. Vets say no if not breeder vets. There is lots of nutrients in there that will help her get through the first few days.
Thanks for the explanation! It’s my first time tonight on this channel and I was hoping someone would explain to this breeder why mum should be allowed to have some of the placenta...dense in nutrients, basically, which will help mom recover! Worth all breeders having a deeper look into, and not just taking their vet’s word for it. ❤️

I loved hearing your sister in the background! It was truly incredible. You and Dolly also did a beautiful job! I have a goldendoodle that I am interested in breeding, but don't have any experience yet, so it is great to be able to watch this.
I wish you the best of luck if you breed your doodle. We had never done this either until we finally did it this fall. The puppies are almost two weeks old now, and doing great! The research, preparation, and worry is a LOT, but it was worth it. They're still young, so we're still not lowering our guard, but so far so good! Our 7-year-old standard poodle finally got to be a dad, and with a 3-year-old poodle mama who's an amazing girl, and great mama, since our other sweet girl has seisures and can't carry safely.
All these beautiful babies are giving me puppy fever. Well done Dolly and Bailey! Congrats to your little sister too what a special day. 💜💜

Hi Bailey! Congratulations on your litter! Love watching your videos 😊 Question for you on umbilical cords, after you’ve let mom shred off a bit and place the hemostats on, how long do you leave them on and when you then cut, do you cut behind the hemostat on belly side or in front of the hemostat and do you need to dip the end in iodine after or just leave it be? I’m worried about a first time momma chewing too close and not really wanting to deal with dental floss either to tie off. Thank you in advance!
So naturally they do eat the placenta…why does your vet not recommend what comes natural to them?
We have only had a few litters over the years but never more than 8. Will you have to supplement to keep them all fed or rotate them or how will that work?

They look like they may be a little more dainty than the others you have had. My neighbor just had a litter they always have cute ones too. 😊

That tiny little white boy is so very cute! I hope he grows well and healthily! I was worried about our smallest who was 11.2 ounces, but your little man looks much smaller than that. Out of curiosity, do you weigh the puppies? If so, how big were they on average since there were twelve of them?
Yes I weigh them at least once a day for the first 2 weeks sometimes even twice!

So interesting with your vet’s take on the placenta. Didn’t realize it was such a highly debated thing. So no placenta shakes for Dolly. 😉 Dumb question but obviously it gets pretty messy in there - how long til she lets you bathe her? I’m sure it takes awhile just to clean up the pen.
I always thought that if you take the puppy away from mom too soon then then mom may not recognize the puppy as their own or allow them to ween. Is this true?

Our Goldendoodle just gave birth to 13 puppies. My wife & I have been watching a bunch of your vlogs to help us during this process, but we feel so overwhelmed with the amount of puppies we have…
1. How will all 13 be able to eat with only 10 nipples?
2. How do I clean our momma? Her legs and tail are very green and dirty.
Congratulations on the puppies. How come your vet said it’s not good for them to eat? Surely it’s natural to eat it for many reasons and nature is the best. It’ll be giving her much needed nutrients to replenish her. I’d just like to hear why so I can hear the other side 🤔
It’s been said it does very good to let them eat it. They add a lot of nutrients needed during labor

Hi Bailey, I do not have a cell phone to use , regarding Christmas gift for dog, but my email works.
Do the mom cut the umbilical cord themselves naturally?
Yes - I let her cut the cord from the placenta and then I use hemostats to stop the bleeding and cut them shorter!
I couldn’t tell either of the momma was doing it or if she was doing it. It was so quick and flawless!
